Installed a 3 pack in our largish stone house the last time this deal came up. Been waiting for another opportunity to add a couple more nodes.
Very simple setup, even in bridge mode, over the app.

For Non-prime members, price is showing as $149.00

    • I've amended the description. My bad. Sorry.

Can you separate the 5 & 2.4ghz ssids with this model?

    • +1

I don't think so. The wireless set up area in the app seems only to provide for security settings.

  • would this help get through brick walls?

    • +2

More "around" brick walls, you can put them in hallways or even roof cavities and get much better coverage. Basically if they're in line of sight of each other or a ahallow corner you'll likely be ok, but more than that gets dicey. Really depends on the geometry and walls.

        i see thanks :)

    • Our house is 300mm to 350mm stone walls. I had to experiment with positioning to get things to bounce around to advantage.

About 2/3 of the house of > 300m2 has excellent coverage know. Two more nodes should give complete coverage.

      This helped me no end:

    • So w5G only has Alexa support apart from that no other difference?

      • +1

I believe they both only support Alexa.

To be honest I couldn't find any differences between the two, even from Tenda website. I reckon they are basically the same.

  • Do the secondary nodes need to be in range of the primary? Or can they be in range of another secondary?

    • The manual says within 10m. I found 5m to 8m optimal.

ED: In my house the primary node is in a front room. The 1st secondary node is halfway town the central hallway in the middle of the house. It's 15m long. The 2nd secondary node is in a room at the back. Distance from it to the primary is ~15m

They also recommend mounting the secondary nodes high up and even in the middle of the room.

I noticed that moving secondary nodes away from the walls improved performance.

The other thing I've noticed the coverage seems to improve over 24 to 48 hours.

  • Paid $93 for 3+1 pack recently but can't use it. My existing setup is separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, something this doesn't support. Not sure if there is a workaround to this otherwise, I have to spend more on a decent one to get this feature.

  • Cheers! Great price ^_^

    • Arrived today! Set it up very easy!

Much better Coverage in my house now 😊

      Also awesome speeds too!
