Bonus 12 Months of Disney Plus (Normally $11.99/Month) with Selected NBN/Mobile/Data Postpaid Plans @ Telstra MyOffers

3670

Checked Telstra Offers, saw the below one. I am able to successfully activate this today, it was not working yesterday.

https://exchange.telstra.com.au/disney-plus-on-us/

12 months of Disney+ on us

Who is eligible to get Disney+ on us?
If you are a consumer customer and sign up to an eligible Telstra plan between 11 January 2021 and 28 March 2021 and are a new or returning Disney+ subscriber, we will offer you a 12-month subscription to Disney+ on us (Roll onto Disney+ month to month subscription fees after offer ends unless you cancel). You will need to redeem your offer by 31 May 2021.

Offer ends 28 March 2022, redeem by 31 May 2022.
Roll onto Disney+ month-to-month subscription, currently $11.99/mth after 12 mths, unless you cancel. Cancel anytime. New and returning Disney+ subscribers only.
After clicking ‘Redeem’, you will be directed to the Disney+ redemption website to complete your account set up.

Eligible Plans

New Home Internet customers

New customers who sign up to selected Telstra Home Internet plans will be eligible for the offer. Eligible plans include:

  • $95 and above Home Internet plans (nbn50, nbn100 and nbn250 speed tiers)

New Mobile customers

New customers who sign up to a selected Telstra Mobile or data plan. Eligible plans include:

  • $65, $85 and $115 Mobile plans
  • $55 and $85 data plans

Existing customers

Existing fixed customers can get it by upgrading to a $95/$110 plan. So if you're on a cheaper plan and subscribe to Disney Plus separately, do the maths on whether the saving of the streaming subscription works for your circumstances and still get the benefit of being on a higher tier plan.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP worked for me

  • Thank you, OP

  • Thanks! It wasn’t showing in my Telstra, but the link in these comments got me there.

  • Thank you OP :)

  • On the Telstra page where you can redeem it, it lists my “bigpond email” which I have no idea what the pass is (I never created an email when I signed up to nbn). This email is different to the one I use to login to my Telstra account or the one I get bills sent to.

If I redeem this offer, does any email go to that bigpond address or does it go to the one you use to sign into your Telstra account?

    • It just worked for me. Clicking it went straight to Disney login, no need to look up an email code. Must have passed the code automatically.

      • Thank you. I’d hate for the details to be sent to a bigpond email I wasn’t aware existed/couldn’t access lol

        • I had the same thought. Spent 10 mins of do I/don't Rolled the dice.

  • Worked for me, thanks op great deal! (have 100mbps Nbn with Telstra)

  • Anyone know what the cheapest product is I can sign up for to get this deal? I no longer have any active Telstra services.

  • +1

Unlimited NBN here and don't have the offer

    • Did you follow it through the link provided? It wasn’t in my Telstra app offers but going through the link provided in OP it was there, just had to scroll a bit as it wasn’t grouped with the other streaming services

I’m on the 100Mbps unlimited plan

  • Hey everyone, I am currently subscribed to Disney+ but want to redeem this offer. I have cancelled my current subscription and still have access until the 3rd of February. When I go to redeem the offer it states I have an active subscription. Do you think I will be able yo redeem it once it rolls over to the 4th February?

    Thank you in advance!

    • +1

to be safe can you not sign up to a new Disney account?

      • It's weird because when I click the link it completely bypassed login. So it must know your email address linked through Telstra. I'll try and see if I can do it on a private browser when I get home. Thank you!

        • Just sign up after 3/2.

  • +1

The Disney offer only appears to be available if your NBN speed is at least 50mbps. https://www.telstra.com.au/internet/nbn#plans. At 25mbps only 3 months of free Binge is available.

    • $95 + monthly NBN

  • Unlimited NBN here and don't have the offer

  • This is a decent deal, but can't you get just about any telstra deal on belong for less money? And on the higher plans more than 12 dollars less?

  • +2

Gday folks. This is listed as targeted, but it's for a bunch of our customers! It's available on selected plans. Here's the list: https://exchange.telstra.com.au/disney-plus-on-us/

    • Excellent! Would be great if OP or Mod update the deal to include this link

    • +2

Hi Luke, would you happen to know what to do if I am receiving this message when trying to redeem on the Disney Plus link?

      Sorry
Looks like something went wrong on our end!
We're working on the problem, please try again later.

It's loading the Disney page and then redirects very quickly to this afterwards?

      Thanks

      • This happens to me too - did you resolve this?
        @doweyy @lukehopewell

  • Thanks

  • Hey all. Had a few people ask me whether we can hook up existing customers with this deal. Went back and asked the team, and turns out we can. You just need to be on the right plan.

Existing fixed customers can get it by upgrading to a $95/$110 plan. So if you're on a cheaper plan and subscribe to Disney Plus separately, do the maths on whether the saving of the streaming subscription works for your circumstances and still get the benefit of being on a higher tier plan.

    • if we are already on a more expensive mobile plan ($115) that makes us eligible?

    • Who do existing customers need to contact to get the Disney Plus deal if already on a $95/$110 NBN plan?

      • Did you come in on a JB Hifi deal? Will not be eligible in that case

    • do we just online chat and ask for the disney+? Thanks

    • Hi Luke, I keep getting a 'Sorry,Looks like something went wrong on our end!' error when I try to redeem. Any fix for this?

  • Sweet!

  • What about existing mobile customers already on one of the suitable plan?

  • Sucks that $55 mobile customers are excluded

    • I wonder if I can upgrade my plan, sign up to the offer and then downgrade again

  • +4

What about those $69 Telstra/JB mobile customer plans? It is a shame that they are missing out, given that $65 customers are eligible.

    • Have you tried logging in to see if it's eligible?

    • Agreed, disappointing we aren’t eligible

      • +1

I suspect that the ‘gift cards’ would have been factored into the margin of those deals, therefore being excluded from deals such as this. Shame really.

    • I tried speaking to live chat and it seems like JB hifi plans are not eligible…

"Upon checking your account, it appears that you current plan is JB Hi-Fi & The Good Guys Mobile BYO Plan $99. This plan is one of our grandfathered plan, and I'm afraid that this type of plan is not eligible for the said promotion"

  • +1

I've tried, this offer doesn't show for JB plans.. bummer

  • I have been with Telstra for about 18 Years so not new to Telstra but it worked for me. Go in Telstra plus via this this link then navigate to the 12 month Disney offer. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/667804 - This ways it worked for me. Hope this is of help.

    • Sorry. Looks like something went wrong on our end!

Retry load the streaming page but without Disney+ available.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Could someone DM me (or reply with) the code in the URL after clicking "redeem"?

(I seem to have two eligible Telstra accounts, and the code appears to be generic, so we can likely just share it).

  • Already having hotstar, this is a bonus, Thx OP

    • how do you play hotstar? through vpn?

        • Does surfshark work smoothly for Hotstar or do you need to keep changing the servers? Also, which server do you usually connect to?

          Thanks!

  • Also eligible! Thanks OP. NBN Unlimited plan. Also have Telstra JB $69 plan..

  • Thanks OP

  • On 95$ 50Mb/s unlimited NBN plan, clicked on the provided link, logged into my telstra profile, saw the disney redeem button, clicked on it, was redirected to disney page to register, done that assuming that all the needed info was supplied by the redirect link itself, registered using my personal email (which I use to login to telstra profile and not that bigpond email) - got charged 11.99 by disney (chose monthly subscription).

I suppose a clear instruction is required !

So, what are my options now ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    • +2

After signing up you should have received a "Welcome to Disney+" email. What does it say on there?

This is what I received in my bigpond email account:

      WELCOME TO DISNEY+

You’re all set to start streaming.

      Your purchase confirmation:

      SUBSCRIPTION
      Disney+ Monthly

      PRICE
      $11.99 per month starting 10 January 2023
      (including GST)

      FIRST RENEWAL DATE
      10 January 2023

      PAYMENT METHOD
      xxxx

    • +1

There was just a pre-authorisation charge of $1.00, that's all.

    • thanks guys, yeah @bigpond mail is to be used to sign up - that was the culprit

      • See my other comment, there is no need to use bigpond email to sign up.

  • Can you just cancel straight away to stop the recurring paymetn?

    • +1

      Sure can.

  • +1

Thanks - a brilliant find for families.
Offer worked with Telstra 5G home internet as well.

    • Only if you were already planning on Telstra internet. They are considerably more expensive than competitors and may not suit everyone.

      • +1

I was just sharing that 5G home internet was also eligible for this promo.

  • +1

    Got it.

5G Home Broadband, $85 per month.

  • Total minimum cost is $410 (including $95/mth plan cost, $99 connection fee and $216 modem charge). If you leave within 24 months pay out the modem pro rata ($9/mth) or stay connected to have fee waived.

  • Thanks my dude

  • guys, do you pay for your telstra webmail @bigpond ? (I just had a talk with telstra support via chat and to my surprise they said that they can enable my @bigpond mailbox and I'll have to pay 10$ per month - whaaaat ?

    • +3

nopes.. that is included as part of nbn plan

      • hmmm, so support is committing a fraud then - what an outstanding service, Telstra

        • just to be clear.. its not there with mobile plans, only with bband plans to the best of my knowledge. No doubt, telstra is a rip-off always

  • Anyone know if there is a way to add Netflix to your Telstra subscriptions with an existing Netflix account?

Mentions new Netflix customers so I am guessing not. I'd like to start getting Telstra reward points for Netflix payments, but not enough to give up watch history/my list etc in Netflix.

  • What is frustrating, is that it says max 4/GB an hour for streaming.

That's not the highest quality, and my NBN can download up to 36GB/HR

I wish they had a higher quality setting.

  • Thanks OP. Worked for me. The "redeem" was against my bigpond email, which I had never once used, and therefore was concerned that I needed to log into this to get my redemption. I had Telstra generate a p/w for me, but it was not necessary in the end.

    • So when you redeemed, you could use your normal email to sign up right? No need to activate the Telstra bigpond email (I have no access to it)

      • +1

Yes signed up on Friday and used a gmail account. There was no charge to my credit card and my Welcome to Disney+ email states first renewal date 13 January 2023.

  • I've got one mobile plan with Optus and another with Telstra. If I sign up for a new plan to port the Optus one over to Telstra do I count as a new customer? Or am I an existing customer because I have a different service already with Telstra?

    • +1

I did this but I'm still counted as an existing customer as I already have a plan with them.

  • +1

Got the email just now! Nice surprise.

  • +1

I keep getting a 'Sorry,Looks like something went wrong on our end!' error when I try to redeem. Anyone know a way around this?

    • +1

Same. Im on a chat with the Telstra Agent now. If i get it sorted ill report back

      • also on chat with agent but it isn't looking helpful… anyone else find a fix for the error page?

        • try again, just worked for me.

  • +1

Tried to talk to the Telstra agents. No help"

"to be eligible you need to add a service or it should be upgraded from minimum plan to $95 after 11/1/2022. The current promotions are not applicable for existing services."

Im on a $110 NBN plan already. My only option is to cancel my contract and start a new one in order to get the Disney+ offer.

    Thanks Telstra.

    • Well that sucks.

    • Same with me, this is only for new customers not existing customers.

  • Hey @Austax and @donquay, I was on $110 NBN plan and get the same error message as you when I clicked to redeem.
After downgraded my NBN plan to $95 per month, I can get Disney Plus successfully.

  • Just tried it again and it worked! what ever the problem was they fixed it.

  • I already have my Disney+ yearly subscription - was thinking of selling this in the classifieds but the sign up effort makes it difficult

  • Would I be considered a new customer if I port over from Woolworths? I already have a Telstra ID,too

  • Just redeemed mine, can anyone confirm if you can cancel straight away and it'll continue to work after a month (which I'm guessing you cancel through Disney+)?

  • +2

Hi all, for those that were originally excluded from this deal and have an active Internet or mobile service, definitely try again now to see if it works.

It seems like they may have opened it up to more people after it expired :)

    • Please explain more. Any link ? I have $99 JB plan.

      • Try go to this link and see if it loads for you when logged into your Telstra account, hopefully it works for you to redeem :)
