  • Any laptops?

  • how much S3222DGM will be for in this deal?

  • Any 24 inch deals?

    • +4

I just negotiated one for the 2421HS. Won't be anywhere as low as past deals though.

      • Also keen on a 24" deal.

      • YISSSSSS was waiting for the 2421HS since it was OOS on teh previous dell deals

        • holy bejebus. RRP bumped to 269 now. guess its due to supply chain constrains and covid?

          • @Neilzy: I managed to get some stock but it will take 3-4 weeks for delivery.

            • @dealbot: Cheers DB. ill have to bite this time as i think our WFH mandate will be extended yet again

          • +1

@Neilzy: That will be an excuse for the next decade I'm afraid.

    • Has Dell made any 24” 4K monitors since the 2415Q?

  • Any chance of any of the desktops being included. Looking for basic office pc with a igpu

  • The new XPS8950 even after 20% still quite expensive, any chance of leftover stocks Aurora R10 or R12?

  • Any 17 inch laptop bag deals?

  • Is s2722dgf coming soon?

I buy Dell these days for our business after going Kogan for a long time – so much better. A 27" model guide, for those playing at home:
S2721QS – no USBC but great colour, especially for the price. Great for creatives.
S2722QC – UHD and USBC with 65w PD
S2722DC – QHD and USBC with 65w PD
P2722HE – FHD and USBC with 65w PD, eye strain reduction tech

They've also got some more premium models with things like built in webcams and better colours etc. Full USB C range here:

    • +1

      awesome - thank you

    • +2

Go for the D series (QHD) at least. FHD on 27" will look bad

      • +1

Agree. QHD is actually better than UHD in some cases too – especially on Macs where you want to avoid the overhead of scaling.

        • +1

I thought macs work natively with uhd and not qhd?

          • @sakanasama: They do, but if you're someone who struggles reading text at that resolution and so turn on scaling, you'll have a CPU overhead to deal with.

        • +2

          Could not disagree more.

The Mac has had High DPI Retina displays for a decade and the OS pretty much expects it at this point, eg. Sub-pixel antialiasing was completely removed many years ago, and there’s no way to adjust the scale factor on standard displays — unlike Windows which allows you to set scale factors like 100%, 125%, 150% etc at any resolution, MacOS outright requires a High DPI display to enable this.

On a low DPI display, such as a 27” QHD 2560x1440, you are locked into a 100% scale factor. The only way to make things bigger is to drop the resolution and make things extremely blurry, you can’t size things any smaller, and MacOS’s font rendering is severely ugly on such a display.

On a high DPI display, such as a 27” UHD 3840x2160 display, you have a number of choices including pixel perfect 4K outputs at at 100% or 200%, as well as the ability for other scale factors eg “looks like 1440p”, that essentially renders a higher-than-native frame buffer at 5120x2880 and then downsamples to 3840x2160. Not as good as 2x Retina 5K display, but an order of magnitude better quality than a 1440p display. It’s also effectively a free operation as far as the GPU has concerned (beyond the tax of rendering at 2x prior to downscale) and again, something that the GPUs have been handling for a decade.

In fact I would argue the exact opposite — our office is almost exclusively 27” QHD 1440p on Windows (where High DPI remains a frustrating hinderance, 15 years after introduced in Vista, and QHD looks quite good, and may be a better gaming resolution) and 27” UHD 2160p on Mac (where the inverse is true and you're almost 100% productivity).

          • @SteveBuscemi: I think you've misunderstood me – the performance overhead is for those that have a UHD display and choose to scale it down to be able to read text.

    • Thank you for this, might go with the QHD one, seems to be well reviewed and would be a good upgrade to my existing 1080p BenQ which has been serving me well.

  • Does the s3221qs have a VESA mount? thx

  • Hi @dealbot is this promo for all dell monitors listed and sold by ebay?

    • Sold by Dell ebay.

  • any good laptop under $1500 ??

  • can some one suggest an ultra wide monitor under this deal for home office work. currently using 2 monitors. happy to go 4k. TIA.

    • +2

If it's just for working at home I think the Dell P3421W is a perfectly fine monitor. My work has the older model U series (U3419W)…I paid the COVID price to grab the Dell 3220DGF in 2020 to WFH, and while it's an amazing monitor for gaming, I missed the ultrawide size I was used to from a work perspective. Grabbed a P3421W which is just the cheaper, non ultrasharp equivalent, and have been really happy using it for work, has USB-C PD so can charge my laptop, decent panel quality, rock solid base etc…honestly the 32" one is just sitting on the floor gathering dust atm as all I do is work haha

No idea if it'll be in the deal, but work is also looking at the new C3422WE which has an integrated webcam and soundbar to assist with all the video conferencing we're doing now - looks pretty sweet but not cheap.

      • Thank you kind Sir.

      • I have one of these on my desk at home. Great monitor and picked it up last year for about $949. Wish that I ordered a 2nd for my work desk. Now they're harder to find are they EOL?) and about $200 more expensive minimum.

  • Looking for a USBC monitor for my MacBook Air M1. Any recommendations?

    • +3

i'm planning on getting this one for my M1 MBP:
      Dell 27 4K UHD USB-C Monitor - S2722QC 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz 2xHDMI, USB-C( - $369

Seems to have great reviews and 27" seems big enough for my WFH requirements

      • +3

Will this charge the M1 at the same time? Soz for the noob question.

        • +4

Yep. I got one, it can charge a 13" M1 MBP or a 14" M1 Pro MBP just fine.

Worth noting that there are some documented flickering issues with Dell monitors and M1s. The solution that worked for me was running the LCD conditioning (in the monitor menu) for a few hours and setting the monitor to run at full 4K 60Hz (hold option while clicking Scaled in display settings).

          • @pressdarling: Are u using the max 4k resolution with ur mac? Look good?

            • @hanofee: Yep, looks great. Although often I find myself either zooming in or squinting.

          • @pressdarling: Thanks for the heads up with the work-around

          • +1

@pressdarling: Sorry for the ignorance. So will I just need a USBC to USBC cable to connect the MacBook to the monitor? Any recommendations for a cable?

            • +1

@pkr123: It comes with one! If you want a longer one, you'll want to make sure it supports 4K @ 60 + power delivery + data transfer.

              • @pressdarling: Thanks, all set up now. Good to know if I need a longer USBC cable in the future

          • +1

@pressdarling: Thanks. This doesn’t fill me with confidence though:

TL;DR 12 pages without a long term fix.

Has your solution been discussed elsewhere on the net?

            • @The Quote Train: Yep, although I can't recall where. Googling something along the lines of Dell M1 LCD Conditioning should bring it up. Other than the flickering returning for about 5 minutes after waking one of my machines last week, this has worked for me so far.

      • +4

I bought two Dell S2722QCs which I hooked up to my 16” late last year.

Quality is great but I too have had the flickering issues from time to time which you can find reports of on Reddit etc.

Changing the display mode from Freesync to 60Hz and changing the operating mode from USB speed to display quality seems to help but doesn’t completely solve the problem.

One monitor it was happening more frequently to the point where I had to RMA. It’s also not directly related to the USB-C/Mac input —- when it happens I can switch to my Windows desktop (via HDMI) and it still persists for a while.

Overall it’s mostly fine and the USB-C hookup is convenient but I’d be a lot happier if it didn’t spazz out for 20 minutes or so every week.

        • is this eligible or ineligible for dells warranty? Did you have to return it within the 30 days?

  • +3

will there be any further discount on laptops?

    • I'd like to know too as the dell website is cheaper than ebay at the moment

  • Currently with my s2721dgf and u2415 for WFH (9h+) and gaming (mmorpg). To retire my 24”, should I look for bigger screen size or directly pick 4K for productivity and casual gaming?

  • Thanks @dealbot. Will the XPS 15 9510 included in the promo?

  • hoping to see laptop deals :)

  • hopefully there is the cheap 24 and 27, i got the 27 FHD from last deal, i know a lot of people don't like FHD on 27", but for my old eye, it's perfect.

  • +1

I bought the S2722QC with the S2721DGF in last month's deal. The S2721DGF displays beautifully, but the S2722QC looks blurry in comparison. Anyone know if there is something I need to do to make the S2722QC look crisper?

    • Depends on your OS and resolution. It shouldn’t be blurry if it isn’t scaled - so either full 4K 3840x2160 or FHD 1920x1080 rather than anything in between. Running the LCD conditioning routine from the menu probably won’t hurt.

      • Any reason why something in between (like the D series resolution), is not good on Q series? I thought buying Q series will give more flexibility than D

      • I'm using these monitors with the Techfast 3070 boxing day deal. The S2722QC is set to 3840x2160 4k and the S2721DGF is on 1440p

    • Weird, I also have both the S2721DGF (1440p) and S2721QC (4K non-usb version) and the S2721QC is so much more crisper that it makes the S2721DGF look crap

  • +1

Ouch! 5 weeks delivery. 20% makes it worth the wait though I guess.

    • +5

It was quite fast the last time I ordered my monitor. Less than 2 weeks despite the 6 week estimate.

      Your experience may differ.

    • +4

I ordered the 34 inch in this deal on the 17th, it arrived today.

Estimate when I ordered said something like 20 Feb or so

    • Purchased for S3422DWG
      Hope it can arrive earlier.

    • +1

My estimated delivery when I purchased around Boxing Day was somewhere from late Jan to early Feb, it arrived after a week. I think they're just managing expectations.

      • Since new years, worker furlough from covid cases have exploded so expect delays in shipping this time around.

  • +1

I got the S2721QS from the last deal for $289 - now on the hunt for a second monitor. Will the S2722QC sit well with the QS?
Just for regular home/wfh use. Obviously kicking my self for not getting 2 the last time around - could of saved $80.

    • Would like to know this as well

  • Thoughts of using S3221QS as a security camera monitor?

  • +1

Any advice on the S3422DWG versus the Prism+ XQ340 Pro (currently $599)?

The Prism+ looks impressive on paper, but not a brand with which I'm familiar.

    • It depends on what you're after? I like how the S3422DWG has a USB upstream and four USB downstream ports, wish Prism+ hadn't skimped on those ports.

      • Yeah sorry, that was unhelpfully vague….
Just after something for WFH, with some very limited gaming. 34" is probably overkill, but these prices are pretty hard to resist.
Would like something greater than 27", and ideally would like something 21:9

  • I'm hoping to score a S2721DGF monitor for work-from-home purposes.

Is there a few variants of this model - or am i mistaken? If so, is there any reason to go for other Dell's and not the DGF?

  • Is the S3222HS any good?
    Only for work

  • I haven't participated in one of these Dell sales before.
Looking at all of the posts here, 90% of them are for people looking at Dell Monitors.

I don't need a monitor but I'm looking at getting a decent Dell laptop.
Will this deal apply for that? I guess I will need to wait and see when that link posted goes live but just curious as I know this deal has gone out before.

    Thanks for any advice.

    • Are you looking for a office laptop or a gaming laptop?

Also you can search Dell eBay previous deal info in OzB:

The price information is mostly expired but it is good to check the feedback from the user in the comments of each post.

  • Can anyone advise on any Dell monitors with HDMI 2.1 that you believe will become a part of this sale? Just want to do some research in advance. Cheers!

  • Be careful when buying stuff from Dell, bought a monitor early last year and since then i got bombarded with their customer fulfilment department as my contact details become their customers 1st level contacts. I picked up their calls and informed them of this error numerous times, blocked their calls, registered in do not call… seemed do not work! Now just got stuck with their flooded phone calls everytime they have special deals! Here we go… the phone is ringing again!!!!! Agrrr!!!!

  • S3422DWG or DGF 27 inch? DGF has IPS panel, this one is VA. however now i already have 2 monitor (with stand) so have to buy another tall one for curve :/

    • Only you can decide yourself with your current setup.

  • I am deciding between S2722DC or S2722QC (no brainer with upcoming promotion)

    Do these USB-C hubs work:

One keyboad mouse for the plugged laptop and desktop? Like KVM
One plugged in usb drive readable by both units?
Can one run PIP both devices laptop and desktop and view in PIP simultaneously?

    • same here, the differences seems to only be the resolution I don't really need, but only ~60 between both model so maybe will get QC

      • +1

If you don't need it then grab the 1440p instead.

I read through a few posts and scaling down to 1440p on a 4k monitor can make it look a bit blurry.

        • Just curious what scenario would one drop it down to 1440 res?

          • +1

@SchroederCat: Sorry, probably should've been a bit more clear!

Mainly for gaming I suppose, especially if your GPU isn't too recent and would struggle to play most games at 4k.

Dropping down to say 1440p/1080p would look worse vs a monitor with those native resolutions.

            • +1

@mangobango: Aha makes sense, thank you
So normal day to day use will not have issues.

              • @SchroederCat: Yeah for sure, if you're just using it for browsing/office work etc then 4K would be great :)

                • @mangobango: Do you own one?
Does it support kvm and pip
Refer my original post above? TIA

                  • @SchroederCat: No I don't own one sorry, looking to pick up the 1440p version on sale tomorrow though.

          • @SchroederCat: I'm in the same boat, main use would be WFH emails Word Excel etc. with a MacBook Air.

I think fonts would be a bit too small running 4K native so the S2722DC QHD would probably be better than the S2722QC scaled down… right?

            • +1

@bauser99: Native always looks better than scaling down.

It really depends on your use though, 4K can be a bit overkill on a 27", but I personally haven't seen one in action so can't judge.

              Might be okay though.

  • Hey @OP, I was looking at this monitor (S2722DC)

It's already marked down 27%, do you know if this will stay at the 27% discount tomorrow and then we can get a further 20% off?

I'm assuming it will as the S2722QC also has a discount already on it and you mentioned it will be even cheaper again tomorrow.

    • I was wondering the same. I don't want to miss out on the 35% deals on the Dell website today only to find out that it's 20% off the original price of $649 ($519) as opposed to $369.
