That or an award given to the Best Exotic Dancer: MC pulls a card out of a G-String and reads "And the Polestar of the year is…"

    • Get your Polestar with the Sante Fe Gold pack.

  • Can it tow a caravan?

    • Apparently up 1500kg according to the website.

    • Yes

I'm not going to neg because like most I don't really understand, but is it on sale or has it been reduced in price recently? I really like Polestar and actually glad to hear the news that it's on sale, so thanks for that, I am confused why it's posted though, skimmed the comments and didn't see anything.

  • the base version doesnt have active cruise control as a standard.

it should be optioned in one of the package. once you add the optioned price you may not get govt subsidy in some states.

    • Seem to have pulled some normal standard 'Volvo' safety features in order to squeeze under the luxury car tax threshold.

Prefer that they kept those and dropped the panoramic roof. One more way to superheat your car in Australia.

      • i dont think panoramic roof is standard.

Not a deal, move to forum.

Does it come with roof racks for my kayak?

before buying my model 3, i was actually comparing that with polestar2. what made me decide on the model 3 was, despite having a smaller battery (sr+ has 54kwh compared to 64-78 kwh, depending on the model), the range was almost like for like. says a lot on the power efficiency of the model 3. that and the fact that tesla super chargers are everywhere compared to 3rd party providers that are mostly level 2 (super chargers are level 3, which means can deliver more range in a short amount of time)

    • You made the right choice for numerous reasons, too many to list.

    • yep M3 scores better and the power management of Tesla is top notch next to BYD.

  • +2

    No thanks.

Good to see a real all EV alternative company to Tesla. But made in China is kind of a bummer. Thanks, but no thanks.

    • even Tesla M3 is also made in China.

  • Not worth it as not compatible with the Tesla chargers that are everywhere.

  • Still has a transaxle hump through the center of the car haha..

I'd guess a bunch of pre-made body's used for normal petrol cars have been used on these..

I was once a pole star. Now I drive one.

Wow times have changed. Last time I saw a Polestar it was at Spearmint Rhino

  • A good car, but I'd like to wait to buy a better Chinese EV car with much lower price.

  • What's the bargain?

  • Not a deal.

    • +1

      what da-faq u want?

  • No deal. Come back when it's around 40k.

  • This is an ad?

  • No bargain, only ad

  • Where's the deal?

  • Come on Mods, both this and the Tesla post are either duplicates or standard RRP.

  • +1

this is spam, not a deal

  • You can get a comparable diesel or petrol car for $30,00-$40,000. So, this could never be a deal unless you drive 50,000km/year.

    • If you look at this as an investment for a year, it won’t

      • the sums don't add up even over ten years unless you do a hell of a lot of driving.

        • If you only look at $$$, it won’t add up. If you look at your carbon footprint, that’s when this begins to make sense.

          • @deanmoriarty: no it doesn't. Yes, if you drive it 1,000,000 Km perhaps. This car runs on coal which is the source of all the Mercury in your food.

            • @Phoebus: EVs run on lithium batteries & have a smaller carbon footprint vs. fossil fuel vehicles. So please enlighten me how this runs on coal.

              • @deanmoriarty: Coal is where EV batteries get their energy from, every time they're recharged but also in their manufacture.

@deanmoriarty: Mate you need to look at the entire lifecycle of the vehicle. Where do the raw materials come from and what are the carbon emissions associated with that (mining and processing)? What about the carbon emissions associated with the production process? Do you think the factory runs on solar electricity alone? What about the carbon footprint of transporting employees to/from factory? Does the EV battery electricity come exclusively from the renewable sources (wind/solar) even when you are recharging overnight?

                • +1

@findingbargains: Yes well aware. But over its lifetime EVs are generally better & with improvements in tech, they will only get more efficient

                  https://www.theaustralian.com.au/special-reports/ev-vs-combu…

                  • @deanmoriarty: Thanks for sharing that. So they are not zero emission overall, but they are vastly better than ICE over entire lifecycle. Fair point.

                    • +1

@findingbargains: True that. Now it’s a matter of when they become more efficient & therefore affordable. Besides, can’t wait for the Japanese (Honda, Subaru, Toyota, Mazda) to launch EVs & make them mass market.

                  • @deanmoriarty: Wow. A link to an infomercial making ridiculous claims with a future technology graph to boot. There's no reason to believe EVs will magically become less carbon emitting in the future. I'm sure the premise for claiming EVs are more environmentally friendly than ICE vehicles today are just as dodgey. Which vehicle's power source is responsible for putting all the mercury in our food chain?
