Can you just play without joining the memberships? Already have a handicap and the free rounds that are near impossible to use in Sydney on weekends.

LOL of the 20 "courses" listed for QLD, 5 aren't golf courses (TopGolf, Holey Moley putt putt, "Taylor Made Golf" etc) and 4 aren't even in the state. Of the remaining 11, one is a 9 hole courses and 4 don't allow weekend play, so there are serious questions about whether this represents any value at all, beyond maintaining an AGU handicap

I'd recommend joining a local club you enjoy playing at. I pay about $1k per year for M-F access which suits my shift work schedule, and there's still plenty of comps on midweek to test my handicap out (and the rounds are quicker than fully booked weekends).
