Apple MacBook 13 Inch - Cheapest Way to Buy New?

Hi
I am looking at getting a MacBook Pro 13 inch with Touch Bar .

I am after 16gb ram and 512 gb SSD.

I am hesitant buying a used MacBook and just wanted to know the cheapest way to get a new one

Thanks again

  • You can get a refurb from the Apple Store online
    https://www.apple.com/au/shop/refurbished/mac/macbook-pro

  • if you know someone working at Apple worldwide, they can get you 10% friends and family discount. [this is not available for some countries i.e. someone working in Australia and need to buy for someone in India from the local Indian online outlet is not allowed, but someone working in SGP can order from AU online outlet for their friends and family in Au] = this is limited to about a few orders in a year.

  • I wish I bought the 512GB version, using all the Adobe apps at once they all want a good chunk of scratch disk. Also the 16GB version, 8GB is more than enough for general usage or just using one Adobe app, but all of them at the same time open for weeks at a time and they all want more RAM. I love the Touch Bar too but for some reason the emoji list won't load when I press the emoji button.

  • When apple gift cards were available with the 20x bonus points I got my $3k iMac with something like $800 worth of groceries already paid for so not really a saving other than the fact I bought from the education section and got my groceries paid for in advance

  • There’s an Apple EPP, with about a 5-10% discount on the RRP. But IMO, you’re better off getting JB HiFi gift cards, and waiting for the next 10-20% off sale

    • They don’t do 16gb unfortunately
