  • I’m sure there are bargains…
However, the one item I wanted from the US (an airtag case for my dog) has gone from $40 to $95 in my cart.

I use Amazon a lot, I get value from it. At the moment. But I can see it easily following eBay with their ‘sales’ practices etc…

  • Thanks OP - got a frisbee from the States

  • any reason why it adds shipping even when buying from Amazon

    eg:

    https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-streaming-Quad-Core-AiProtection…

It should be amazon.com.au not the us store

  • All the blurays i had in my cart went up 4 to 8 bucks since this free shipping came in. It'd probably similar in total now

  • For many years I've rarely looked at Amazon because you couldnt find out shipping cost until you went all the way through checkout, then found the cost of shipping ludicrous or the seller didnt ship to Australia. Nearly a complete waste of time for me. Will have another look with this offer. Thanks OP

Couldn't find anything. Is there a way to buy free shipping only for the spirit of true OzB?

get your child to open amazon, then close your eye and point one. then buy it

  • nice! I see so many well priced cheaper items and never felt comfortable doing the workaround, this is fantastic news

To confirm, do i look for products on amazon.co.uk and www.amazon.com. Anything on the website can be ordered for free if you're a prime member?

Anything on the website can be ordered for free if you're a prime member?

      Nope.

Only the shipping is free. You still have to pay for the item.

    • Isn't order from AU site for UK and US product?

    • +1

Nope, only look for products via .com.au - they will be tagged with Amazon US/Amazon UK if they're from international. Do not browse the UK/US sites directly.

  • Interesting many users complained about people publicly sharing the trick and demanded (tried to coerce) mod to take down the post, cancelling the item in order to get free delivery, some people were afraid that Amazon will notice and cancel this loop hole. Looks like Amazon did notice and actually making better for everyone. Jeff Bezos is right to say customers are always right!

    • You know that you can still return the items after delivery? So basically Amazon loses money here.

  • I don't get it. I'm logged into my Prime account on Amazon AU, I browse for an item (can windscreen sun shade) showing on Amazon AU which is sold and shipped by Amazon US and yet it's showing shipping of $38?? Is it because of the length of the item?

Shipping is only free for Prime items…

  • Was looking at some WatchNerd casio deals from within last couple of months and realised that a lot of the deals were still on but with the shipping cost (previously $8) absorbed into the price. This price difference (same as the old shipping cost) was evident on a few links that I clicked on. Something to be wary of. If you bought a couple of items you may just be paying the previous price + old shipping cost absorbed into the item on all items. OK if you buy 1 item, but if you buy 2 you are paying $8 more than before etc.

  • I am seriously not impressed by the so called free international shipping.

I have three orders being cancelled because of damaged or undeliverable and the worse part is Amazon did not let you know until you clicked in the the "Track the Package" link. And when I realised they were all already cancelled days ago!

Adding insult to injury the "Your Orders" page all said those items were shipped and actually have the Estimated Delivery Date shown?!

I called Amazon requesting for explanation on why it has to be refund but not resend automatically and the answer was since the products were purchased from amazon US but not AU they cannot do anything about it other than providing refund. I said no actually you guys can do better by proactively notifying customers they are unable to deliver it because of whatever crap reason they put that into the system.

If this is because of the items are relatively low values and it is not my fault but Amazon as they provided this offer. Otherwise I am happy to accumulate the amount of purchase to 49 69 79 or whatever amount as long as I dont need to waste my time multiple times!

    • I had something similar last time: Amazon AU couldn't resend international item, and in the meantime price increased.
So support agreed to let me order again (for higher price) then once shipped to refund the difference immediately.
(to my surprise, I didn't have to remind them, partial refund went through an hour or so after it was shipped - which was a day or 2 after my replacement order).

    • I got an email saying the below

You ordered the item below, but the package was returned to us by the carrier. We’ve issued your refund.
You can find the list of possible reasons why the package was returned to us as undelivered here. If you still want the item, please check your address and place a new order.

      Tracking from amazon site,

Tuesday, 8 February 11:44 PM Shipment returned to Amazon.

      Tracking from AusPost site

Fri 11 Feb, 9.51am Received and ready for processing

no idea what is going on here

  • Just to clarify… sorry if someone has already answered this.
Is this only for purchases made through the global store on amazon.com.au?
Or is it also eligible for purchases made directly on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk where the seller ships to Australia?

    • you will still need to make your purchase on amazon.com.au for seller listed as Amazon US or Amazon UK

  • Came back to check this deal
Had a couple items from Amazon still sitting in the cart, from US, (listed as shipped from and sold by Amazon US) was free delivery yesterday, didn't check out, went back now to finish the purchase and now $13.5 delivery charge.
    Deal says till 5th April.

    • Hi. Please check the post revision history here. Initially Amazon's terms stated an end date of March 20. They revised the terms a few days ago to extend the offer to April 5 (see here), so I updated the post accordingly. If it's not working for you, best to jump on a chat session with Amazon.
