Looks good visually. Any chance of an RSS feed?

    •

Hi Neil, Thanks for the feedback! We will get on to it and let you know how it goes. Out of interest, what reader would you be using for RSS?

      •

Google Reader, which I believe is the biggest one in terms of market share.

        •

Neil, Please find our RSS @ http://www.dealwatch.com.au/deals-rss/

Feel free to provide any feedback.

        •

Looks good so far. My first feedback would be to have custom feeds. E.G. I'm probably only interested in food deals. Definitely not interested in beauty and health deals.

I'll play around with it and see how it goes vs. the others.

        •

We can do this, I will get it so we tie it in with the category preferences, when you signed up!

I will let you know of further progress.

Hi Neil, just to touch base - how are you finding the RSS?

        •

          Works well so far.

Location in the title would be helpful. Check out the way Dealpinch has the location in their RSS feeds.

        •

Thanks for the feedback so far Neil! Will let you know once we've made some improvements to the RSS.

  •

Would be nice to able to sort via price too. I wouldnt sign up just for that though, I would rather go to the many already existing deal aggregators.

Your homepage is very similar to ours :-)

Allthedeals, Im confused with some of your price listings. Eg. One-Hour Therapeutic Massages in Adelaide via Groupon - listed price is $10 on your website, but on Groupon site its $29 minimum…

      •

Thanks JLove. Looks like there is a bug in our Groupon listings. Will get this fixed as soon as possbile.

yes indeed, it's very similar.. the background page is very obvious

I like - how you give the location of most deal providers.
Don't like - entry into your website.
Don't like - how I get down to the bottom of the deal page and have to wait for more deals to load.
Don't like - how you are missing some deal companies entirely. Examples include Sure Deal and Deal2day.

I really don't like how the additional deals are STILL LOADING, even after I have typed all of the above.

IMO, no reason whatsoever to use your servoce over allthedeals.com.au

    …….still loading…………

    •

      Hi Voteoften,

Thanks for the feedback. When you refer to additional deals still loading - did you mean when you hit the bottom of the page it starts loading new deals?

We are adding more companies - however this is a stringent process - we do not want to spam our users with useless deals, some of the deal websites out there have turned into more of a infomercial it seems.

      Regards,
      The DealWatch Team

Yes the clock thingy at the bottom keeps twirling, never loading the rest of the deals.

The biggest gripe is that you seem to be entirely leaving out some GB companies.

  •

I have to agree that the layout looks very similar to allthedeals. In fact almost identical. And not just the front page. Sorry, but that's my observation.

But, what I like at dealwatch:
Easier to choose the city you want to see the deals for.
More details displayed in the deal summary page.

    What I like at allthedeals:
Deals can be sorted by different categories. Such as, deal company, time remaining, etc,, very handy.
Deals are displayed in a more organized way in each category, ie. grouped by deal company.
Has a "buy now" or "more info" button.

The clocky/sun/circle thing still twirls around at the bottom of th efirst page. There are obviously more deals waiting to be loaded, but they never come up. A shame. i would like to give your site a go, but if I only get about 8 deals and the rest never load, how can I?

    •

      Fixed - Enjoy!

  •

Also, for Perth, you website lists some deal for so sharp that includes a glass of wine, but the only perth deal on the so sharp perth page is for thnat tired deal for frozen marinated oysters from that place in Morley. Obviously you have an old deal on your website.

MOD: Copied from new thread created by DealWatch

Just to let our loyal fan base know, we recently updated our site to incorporate two horizontal segments of deals. We are trying to develop a great service here and to gain any feedback would be great.

Essentially DealWatch makes it easy to find all the great daily deals in the one location. With so many sites it can be hard keeping track of them all or even finding what the best offer is today.

We recently added two new segments to the site:

    • Travel Deals - these are aggregated deals for travel (such as Fiji, Vanuatu, Bali)
    • Online Deals (was previously named Nationwide) - these are any deals that can be delivered throughout Australia

Feel free to add any comments or make any requests you think the site should have.

Stay tuned as over the next few weeks we will be rolling out a mobile version of the site.

Thanks to all the OzBargainers for your feedback so far.
