  • Seems like no code is needed today, I just ordered one and the cashback tracking email came after the order confirmation in 1 minute.

    • Yeah. I noticed that. Was $9 only without code.

  • Sounds like most of you all have been having better luck than me.

    All afternoon been getting:

    SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG

We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.

    • Try a different Browser (or PC).

  • I took up this offer via CR $10 cashback and paid the $9 (discount $21) for the Boost $30 sim. I ordered on the 30/3 just rang Boost now and they said there is a problem eg those Sims are on backorder and they didn't have an ETA other than to say maybe 7-10 business days but she admitted that is a pure guess. To get $10 cashback have to activate within 30 days. I only ordered to get the cashback. Then they till me it comes out regular post not express than could add another week or more.

    • I wonder if CR will factor this in i.e. not shipped until XX date. Ideally, the promo should be within 30days of being shipped to cover delays.
Mine didn't track at CR (strange as they are usually good) so will have to submit a Claim. I'll ask at that point and if it has to be within 30days of ordering, I'll cancel and ask Boost for a refund.

      • Mine tracked with CR please update us re the 30 days when you get an answer. I agree I should be within 30 days of order being shipped because the hold up is Boost having the sims on backorder with no ETA. When I placed my order no mention of sim on backorder I think their site still indicates they have $30 sim on hand.

  • Beware. Purchased on 29/3 and still nothing. They told me no stock for delivery atm. WTH.

    • wtf. came here wondering why I hadn't received anything… there was no message of any kind when I ordered about delays.
      Dirty dogs

      • Nope. They didn’t say anything until I messaged them.

        • did they give any idea on the timeframe?

          • @bohn: They didn't have an ETA other than to say maybe 7-10 business days but she admitted that is just a pure guess

          • @bohn: Didn’t mention about that. They should have notified that it will be backorder on the checkout page. So misleading.

  • Yeah I have not received mine yet either. Will I get the SIM in time to activate to qualify for $10 cashback?

    • Neither here. I ordered minutes after deal was posted

  • +2

    They are hopeless

  • +1

I'm sure @TightArse will look after us, if it comes to that. Extending the activation period to 45 or 60 days shouldn't be a problem I think, even post purchase? Or just approve all :)

    • Hope so, but that also depends on CR being able to negotiate with Boost to pay them.

  • +1

Still haven't gotten any tracking details or anything…this is not a good look

  • +1

Had to get allocated a case number just to find out why they haven't shipped the Sim I ordered. And I still don't know . What a joke of a company.

  • Only another 7 or 8 business days left until the 30-day expiry passes. And my SIM has to come all the way to Perth, which usually adds a few additional days.

I'm starting to doubt this myself now. I'm thinking of putting a cancellation request via PayPal unless we can get some assurances about the cashback.

    • I ordered this minutes after deal was posted. Still haven't received Sim card.
Won't be such a good deal if cashback is declined due to late arrival of Sim

  • what an absolute joke

  • my order still not received …just chat online now and a staff told me the batch sim cards is in back order, would take a couple of weeks!. Asked for a refund and don't know when I could get the money back. What a misleading offer!. Beware !

    • Nothing misleading on Cashreward's part. That's on Boost for not holding enough stock for their own promotion ;)

      • Agree, it's Boost misleading, not Cashreward. In my case still don't know when the sim will arrive and the 30 day activation after purchase is a real challenge !

In the same boat. Was told it's on backorder with no ETA when I contacted them.

When I told them I couldn't wait that long (I actually need a SIM, wasn't buying one just for the $1 profit), I was offered the option to buy a $2 sim myself & they'll put the credit on that.

After a couple more emails about whether compensate me for having to spend more money to fix their problem, I was told that they'd try their best to give me some extra data (didn't commit to how much so it could well be 1MB or 100GB, or none at all - if their best is not good enough). They are absolutely ridiculous.

I've just messaged CR to see if I would still qualify for cash back if I accept that offer, otherwise, I might as well buy one from Coles/Woollies for $10. Hopefully, CR will get back to me before I need it.

P.S. They must be one of the few companies who are stupid/ crazy enough to run a promotion on an item that is out of stock (& continue to accept orders).

    • They offered me the same deal and I took it cause I need the sim ASAP. They gave me 10gb for the $2 sim. Can you let me know how you go with CR? Not our fault so hopefully they’ll still approve the cashback.

      • Did you have to wait long for them to apply the credit to your $2 sim? I presume you need to do that via the person you have been corresponding with by email. The agent handling my case typically takes a day or so to get back to reply. The practical convenience might also affect if I accept the offer or request for a refund.

      • Response from CR:

"Unfortunately, if you change your order, then there is a high chance that it will invalidate cashback in your transaction. The reason for this is that any changes in orders are reported as a cancellation of the original order.

Please note that the decision of whether to approve or decline transactions is made by the store and not Cashrewards, and that is why I am unable to give you a more definitive confirmation that your transaction will be approved or declined if you take the $2 SIM offer."

        • +1

You worried too much. If your Boost SIM purchase was tracked automatically (not from claim), it'll be approved regardless of activated or not. I have said in the previous deals too that customers are not obliged to activate Boost SIM to confirm the cashback. I can imagine that Boost does not even link order number to SIM serial number in its system.

          • @Neoika: To each their own. You might wanna chance it when others might prefer to play it safe/ by the T&Cs.

            • +2

@Love a bargain: I bought 4 or 5 times in the last 18 mths. The first time the cashback was approved in 20 days so that I did not activate it within 30 days. The rest cashback: some were approved without activation in 30 days; some are still pending. Normally SB approved it (60 to 90 days) much later than CR. Same with Woolworths Moblie as mentioned by others too.

    • I was offered 20GB as compensation for slow postage the last time this deal was on.

  • +1

I've just remembered that they didn't accept PayPal - how clever of them - so I can't even pursue a refund via that mechanism. We're all stuffed!!1!

    • and trapped !!!!

    • +1

just do a chargeback on ur CC

  • Is Shopback going to help us out here with the $10 cashback for those who haven't yet received our Sim cards?

  • I received a reply to my CR claim today. It took five days this time, whereas it took three days last time, so I'm guessing that they're getting a lot more non-tracks and subsequent claims this time around. Like many others here, still no sign of the SIM card. If it's not here by Day 30 then I'll be activating a Boost SIM that I already have instead, and taking my chances on the cashback being declined.

  • Still no SIM

    • Well no as they do not have stock.

      • This is my first experience with Boost, not fantastic

  • I spoke with chat and was told I will be getting a tracking number for my SIM in 6 to 24 hours.

  • Ordered 2 on the 29 March. Both tracked immediately.

    Wasn’t allowed to order anymore.
same error message came up every time

Still haven’t received sims. 30 day activation limit coming up on 29 April.

    Has anyone received theirs ?

Sometime in the next 10, 000 years,
A comet's gonna wipe out all trace of man,
    I'm banking on it coming,
    Before my Boost SIM arrives.

  • +1

    havent got my sim yet….

    • same here 😟

      • Same here also

  • I chatted with them, was given a tracking number with startrack last week. It continues to be invalid so I chatted to someone else today to be advised that is incorrect and I was given the wrong info… you dont say! Still no updates from them, besides their spiel of go buy a $2 sim and we can get sorted (but we miss out on CR)…

  • +2

If I try and cancel my order with Boost (order place on 1/4) will CR pay out the $10? I have lost all faith that my Boost sim will arrive before my Kogan sim runs out which is 29/4. You'd think giving them 28 days to get their $hit together would be more than enough but clearly not. Very very poor no correspondence from Boost at all only found out they're out of stock when calling them on the 15/4. False advertising when you advertise a product and take orders and money no advise not available (this is my 1st and most likely my last dealing with Boost)

    • Normally you need to follow t&c and activate what they send in the timeframe to get CR. Its difficult though when we dont get the sim's!

    • You want your money back from Boost AND the cashback from Cashrewards? I'd be happy with just one of these at this stage :)

  • +2

Chatted with Boost. Cannot refund or cancel the order… They dont even know when the sim cards would arrive… I wont get one from online anymore especially from Boost, best to stick with Coles or Woolies for mobile deals. Terrible customer support from Boost!

    • Agreed!

    • +1

Just to share how ridiculous Boost mobile CS is. Below is what I got from them on the refund request:

I can definitely help you with the refund and for us to be able to process a refund for the $9 sim kit, you will need to return the sim first. Since you don't have the sim yet, what I can do is to create a case for you so that once you already have the sim, you can return it to us then we can process a refund for you right away. Would that be okay?

Note: And they can't advise when they will ship the sim.

      • Haha,
"we can't refund until you get the SIM sorry"
So when will you ship my SIM?
"We can't advise, we have a stock shortage"
        Mmmmm….. very sense

        • Yup! It's like tying both your legs and expect you to run a marathon. Unbelievable.

  • Anyone got theirs yet?

Well Cashrewards should be honouring the deal, since they're the one's advertising it. We got a few for our Easter travels, which never arrived. I'm sure TA will help sort it out.

  • just wonder if CR was well awared of the issue (sim on back order) and their 30 day deadline. I don't have much more patience & asked for the refund last week, this morning asked again and finally was provided with the cancellation order number, got confirmation in arvo that the refund processed, but still not see the money appears in my bank account yet.

    • +1

Very much doubt it. CR aren't Boost so they can't be blamed for lack of stock.

      • Totally agree. This is all Boost's problem.

Encouraging to read that they might finally be offering refunds, I will give things another day or two to see if there are any updates, but then I will pursue a cancellation too.

        • Likewise.

    • +5

I've PM'd TA And he's already asked Boost what's going on & will let us know when he finds out.

So let's see what happens. But whilst it appears to be Boost's screw up, the deal is via CR so they also need to take responsibility for their offers. No different to Telstra offering a deal on a Samsung phone, then claiming they can't honour the deal because Samsung hasn't provided stock.

      • +2

Good point and looking forward to what TA says. I asked twice in an email when submitting a CR claim as it did not track. On both occasions they failed to answer my question about "what if sim not received within 30 days of ordering". CR seem to be very hush hush on this one.

      • @M00Cow
Have you hear any updates from TA?

        • +1

          No I haven't. Hmmm I'll give him a nudge.

          • @M00Cow: Wonderful, mate! Look forward to TA's usual magic. Thanks.

    • If Boost cancel your order as in this case will you still het CR cash back?

      • No as the order will show as cancelled.

    • Very much so. See CR's response to my enquiry above.

  • Given the sim most likely not arriving to us before 30 days of order, if we buy a $2 sim and activate the Boost Mobile service (as suggested by Boost Mobile to one of the guys here according the previous comment) wouldn't we get the cashback ?
I have done similar things for Amaysim where I ordered sim 3-4 days before my service expired, the sim didn't arrive on time and I bought $1 sim from Woolies and activated it, cashback was approved.
So, I would assume same can be done for Boost Mobile and cashback gets approved ?

    • CR's response to my enquiry: It's up to Boost Mobile and possibly not.

  • I haven't received my sim and they said it is out of stock. When I continued to ask to cancel it, the agent said they can not cancel the order in the system. The system will automatically send out the sim once they got the stock and they can't do anything to it at the moment. If I really need to cancel it, wait for the sim to be delivered and call them to cancel. Another suggestion is to buy $2 sim and put the credit in.

  • Just received mine in Sydney in a green tracked Australia Post prepaid envelope.

    • lol…did these bozos wait until it is impossible for mine to track in 30 days?

  • Received mine today and activated. Hopefully the cashback is honoured.

    • Did you get a shipping notification of when it was shipped or the SIM just rocked up in the letterbox ?

      • no notification at all just rocked up in the mail.

    • Same

    • Well you are within 30 days from the post date so can't see why it wouldn't.

I received mine today (28 days from purchase) so it was close.

  • Received mine today also

    • Did you get a shipping notification of when it was shipped or the SIM just rocked up in the letterbox ?

      • Just rocked up in the letterbox, no tracking no nothing given

      • Same, no notification, 1 just rocked up. Still no signed of the second one…

        • Received the SIM today and activated. Number ported in 5 mins. Fingers crossed the cashback will be approved.

  • Received mine today melb metro

  • +1

    Sydney metro. Arrived today

    • +1

Better activate soon so you get cashback, just did mine.

      • +1

Ordered on the 3rd of april. 👍🏻

  • mine arrived in a nick of time too, just activated all of them.

  • Arrived today SE QLD

    • +1

I checked before leaving today but nothing. Now on GC for a week :S

      • Eep

All you need is the Sim number. Can someone check your mail? Then throw the Sim in their phone for activation?

        • The serial number is on the back of the SIM packaging and there is no need to insert the card into a phone. I received the SIM today and activated it without even unpacking it.

  • I ordered on the 01/04 and still did not get my SIM. Boost say it's on backorder and they'll notify me when it's dispatched. Has anyone asked Cashrewards if the cashback period will be extended?

    • +1

Other people have mentioned that they have sent the SIM via snail mail. I have contacted Boost support as well and they have said the same to me but they are misguiding us when they are saying that you will receive a shipping notification.
