    Not even for free.

  • +5

Free to play coming real soon I reckon.

  • +2

    Still expensive.
Edit: there aren't any players to play against and there is no campaign. So basically paying money to play against bots. It's time EA learn their lesson and stop using the Battlefield community as their cash cows and actually produce decent games.

  • +2

At this rate it will be an Epic giveaway soon.

    • At first I was like no way but then I realised sw bf2 was an ea title that epic gave away so this might be possibly real in future.

  • +6

For $9 I got it on pc, as someone that bought it on launch and then refunded it after playing 30 hours $9 is a bargain regardless what the haters that have never played it say.

  • Still not worth it when there are barely any players

    • You playing at midday bro?

  • +1

    $1,$2 very soon.

  • +1

Don’t buy it, you’re wasting your time

  • +3

    No campaign so not buying

  • PS5 Ghostwire $46 and Tiny Tina $52

  • -1

    No campaign, no purchase.

    • +2

Battlefield was never designed to have singleplayer, 1942 -> 2142 were the golden years.

      • +4

This game wasn’t even designed to be a Battlefield game.

      • Some of the Battlefield games with single player campaign:
        Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
        Battlefield: Bad Company
        Battlefield: Bad Company 2
        Battlefield 3
        Battlefield 4
        Battlefield 1
        Battlefield 5
I'm sure i played through all of them too, must be my imagination…

        • -1

I didnt say that the trainwreck console baby battlefield games didnt have singleplayer.

I said that battlefield was never designed to have singleplayer.

  • Got 3 copies one for mate one for spare machine and one for Xbox series x. Hopefully it will improve.

Number one rule: Don't preorder (unless you're trying to support a smaller dev to get to market but even that's risky)

Number two rule: Don't buy games based on the hope they will improve (especially for big game devs)

      • They have improved it though. Last patch had over 400 fixes and revamped content. Whether or not it’s enough is up to others, don’t play MP shooters, but plenty games have turned things around.

No Man’s Sky classic case, amazing turnaround. For $9 it’s a pretty small punt.

        • +2

Fair enough. Point was buy it when you are confident you are happy with its current state, not before.

  • Are lots of people playing battlefield 4 and V instead of this online still?

    • yes thought BF2042 is getting better, I also play SW BF2 which is still very fun,

    • +1

Haha this game has about 2000 players on average on Steam. During Australia’s day time, it’s more like 900 players so you’ll be playing against bots a lot.

      • +3

what % of players uses steam to play a BF game? everyone I know use origin. I have see 64player breakthrough servers get full of real players.

    • Yes I am still playing BFV and it is so much better than 2042.

    • V is still very healthy but only 1-2 aussie servers on off peak time.. I think on the weekend it sometimes goes up to maybe 3-5 full servers but only seen it a few times.

Unfortunately you have to suffer bad ping if you want a specific map or game mode most times.

      • Yeah often waiting for a taxi. Whataxi exactly

        • +1

Oh yeah that server is fun it's a little nice community we have still left for Aussie bfv players.

    • I bought BF1 when it was on sale a few months back. First BF title I've played in years.

I've sunk like 100 hours into it just playing multiplayer and doing some easter egg stuff. There's still an active enough community in Australia to have no trouble finding a game. Really there are 2 main servers that are always full during peak playing hours.

  • Apparently I can't pick up from any stores around me for the PC version. All others are in stock. Sad. It's probably just a code in a case too. Someone pick me up a copy? Thanks.

    • Amazon have PC version same price.

  • the latest updates have made BF2042 much more playable, I usually play a game or two of breakthrough each evening,

    • Are the lobby's at least populating with other players?

  • +1

Don't listen to the people saying there is no one to play with.. I always find full servers. Any night off the week.. not sure what the guys are smoking

  • +1

Was this another flop by EA? Financially and reputationally.

    • Seems to be so. They need some major hail mary miracle to get out of this one.

Maybe in future if they can show everything works OK and meets players expectations it could pull off a no man's sky.

      • for that to happen will have to be free

  • Tried to PM at EB because I have EB gift cards. They said they'd sell at a loss if they matched. Fair enough though that means they aren't honouring their price matching policy. Never had much luck price matching there.

  • +2

The game is not great, but + vote because thanks to this post and 28 Degrees I'll have only paid $9

  • +1

Think how much money they would have saved/sales they would have made just remastering bf4 with 4k/60hz. Shouldn't be too long until it's the ps+ free game

    • +1

      domayne is harvey norman undercover

  • cant see any CC options for PC :(

  • I enjoyed this for coop PVE, but am done with it now. Plays fine, lots of stuff to unlock and upgrade, and you can relive some of the old maps. Long term replay is limited.

  • Price matched in store at Big W today, if some of Yous are trying to dodge Harvey
