Anyway to get this for MEL to AKL and then ZQN to MEL?

    • Buy domestic leg ZQN to AKL? Sometimes you can do a multi-city booking but that's probably not eligible for this deal.

      • I don't need a ZQN to AKL leg. I'd like to drive.

        • Drive one way, then fly back one-way domestic leg, right?

So then can get MEL-AKL return/roundtrip.

          • @inherentchoice: Ah, I got you.

            • @sween64: The hire cars are probably much cheaper from ZQN to AKL than the other way around. Unless you were doing one of those relocation deals.

              • +1

@inherentchoice: And they can sometimes throw in the ferry cost

              • +1

@inherentchoice: even those are usually from Queenstown, rather than to.

              • @inherentchoice: Yeah but you have to drop the south island car at picton ferry and pick up other car from wellington as they are 2 different sectors.

  • Where are the travel dates?

    • +2

on the linked page. every route has different dates, so can't easily list them out here…

  • Do all pax need to be a Jetstar member or just one?

    • +1

      Just one

  • +10

Thanks. Just booked Melbourne > Gold Coast for around $60 return with Slutty Bianca.

    • +1

      Lol

    • +1

Is slutty bianca a new meme? I'm only getting porn results on google 😂

  • +7

Perfect. Just booked Melbourne > Gold Coast for around $60 return.

    • +8

      Should be fun !!!

      • +9

        We expect holiday snaps! 💙

        • Only of Bianca being slutty though.
We know what jv looks like.

  • Sweet I need to do some flying

  • +1

Keen! Interested to see what Bali is like nowadays

    • +15

Just got back. Full Jetstar flight going but the island is still very quiet which I found to be fantastic. All major attractions are open but there's hardly any traffic and queueing. Hotels and services are going for cheap as chips at the moment and if you are there for a relaxing holiday and not exclusively to party now is a great time.

      • +4

Probably the best time to travel then.

        • +1

Hmm my friends living over there said a lot of the tourists are back already… guess it depends on the area.
Maybe Kuta is less busy than it was

          • @badonde: The (major) hotel we were staying at was operating at <50% capacity on easter weekend. They were anticipating more traffic from domestic travel for hari raya than international inbound traffic for easter. I'd think that the next few months will still be relatively quiet.

            • @turkz1: Which hotel?

      • +2

Damn we want to party haha

      • Did you have to do covid test going into Bali?

        • +2

Yes predeparture PCR for $79 at the airport.

  • +1

Why are tickets to nz so expensive still?

    • supply & demand.

    • They're massively improving from June. In April you could easily pay a grand for a non-direct between SYD-CHC return (personal experience, sigh). These prices are substantially less.

  • +2

Far out. I booked tickets 2 days ago. Just did the same search for my dates and passengers and it's 35% cheaper

any way to get the benefits of this deal on my flights?

    • +4

Just rang them. Can't cancel my flights and rebook. Can't apply any discount to my existing flights.

      • +2

        That’s lame

        • less than 48 hours difference. Can't do anything for me. I'm pretty cut right now

        • -1

          That’s lame

Why? did you read the purchase conditions?

          • +7

@jv: I don't know how to read. Does that help in getting the price difference refunded?

            • +2

@chicken8: I'm in the same boat and that's unfortunately what happens with a budget airline.

      • +6

You rang them and it only took 9 mins?

  • +1

I can't find a return flight back to Adelaide from Bali for $0

I'm surprised flights are $550 return, my mate in Bali said it's pretty dead and even half of Bali is shut.

    • +3

my mate in Bali said it's pretty dead and even half of Bali is shut.

But is that good or bad? I just got back from Koh Samui which was also half shut but this was a good thing. The usual heaving throng of idiots wasn't there so you could have a proper relaxing island style holiday.

      • Doesn't bother me, but flights should be cheaper if their pushing to get people there

My friend also said until they get rid of the vaccine requirements he doesn't think it will open up.

Australians are highly vaccinated, but the rest of the world is lacking behind and Thailand just axed it.

  • +2

All good with Bali, but I'd wish they could remove PCR test requirement

    • -1

but I'd wish they could remove PCR test requirement

      Why?

      • +1

        Why?

Because it adds arbitrary cost and effort for no tangible benefit.

        • +4

          no tangible benefit.

How do you know there is no benefit for Bali?

          • -8

            @jv:

How do you know there is no benefit for Bali?

Because that's how logic works, the burden of proof is on the claimant.
Feel free to post the evidence that supports this position, whenever you are ready…

            • -1

              @1st-Amendment:

the burden of proof is on the claimant.
              "no tangible benefit."

              So where is your proof?

              • +1

                @jv:

                So where is your proof?

Burden of proof applies to the thing that is being claimed to exist, not the absence of it. Come on, this is Logic 101…

                  • +1

                    @jv:

you are the one making a claim, not me…

Only if you don't understand the basics of deductive logic, which you've made clear you don't.

                    I just asked a question…

Which I answered. So why are you still here?

                • +1

@1st-Amendment: You made a claim just then mate. "Zebras don't exist" is also a claim. Given you're up against a government, you need a fairly high standard of proof to make a credible counterclaim. As it stands, your claim aligns quite neatly with wishful thinking which is the usual red flag to examine assertions such as yours even more critically.

                  • +1

                    @kiteo:

You made a claim just then mate.

Sure I claimed that PCR test costs money. Do you dispute this?
I then claimed that for that cost there no tangible benefit observed. So if you dispute this, the burden of proof lies with you to demonstrate this benefit.

Given you're up against a government, you need a fairly high standard of proof to make a credible counterclaim

So you thought you'd try the argument from authority logical fallacy? Where did you think that would take you?

As it stands, your claim aligns quite neatly with wishful thinking

Nope and no amount of just saying things makes it any more true. Either there is a tangible benefit or there isn't. If there is it can be demonstrated. Burden, proof etc..

The logic doesn't care what your opinion is.

        • +2

Because it adds arbitrary cost and effort for no tangible benefit.

Lol what where'd you get that from

          • +1

            @axwe8:

Lol what where'd you get that from

Mandatory PCR cost money yes or no?
Mandatory PCR has shown no tangible benefit yes or no?

Maybe think a little bit harder next time…

    • +1

You don't need it coming home, at least.

  • Looks BS to me, scanned for flights in the advertised time range and not a single zero dollar return fare

    • +3

It only shows the $0 return flights when you get to the flight selection page.

You also have to be a Club Jetstar member to get it currently as it's an early release at present.

      • I am a club jetstar member

        • then keep going in your booking process until you can choose the flights and there you'll see the $0 returns. If any are left for that day

      • I couldn't find any on the couple of destinations I looked for. Weird.

    • -2

      Try reading

Club Jetstar early access now. General public access starting midnight (12:00 am) 4/5/2022.

  • +1

Can you see the $0 flights without being Club Jetstar?
I can't find any for Bali

    • Yes, seems to show both club and non-club price but you need to get through a few screens of selections first

  • Are the planes for domestic and international flights (within Asia) the same model/size/comfort level?

Just booked SYD-AKL for July $185 return

Nice scored a $55 p/p which includes the $0 return Melb - Goldcoast in Jan. Cheap for School holidays!

Note this doesn't include baggage for anyone reading who is reading.

    Thank you OP for sharing.

Joined Club JetStar and the fee for that was offset by the discounts for prepaid seating and baggage (I'm tall I want the exit row!!)

bargain of a deal got 2 people PER DPS return for $671 including exit row seats for both and 1 bag.

Just wait for them to cancel the return flights at the last minute and not offer any other flight options like they did to us last December.

Fingers crossed Japan is opened up by January

The catch with this promo is you will have to pay high price if you want to change your return flight.

i.e previous promo $169 each flight, so if you need to change the return flight you have $169 to cover the fare difference.

With this promo the departure flight cost $339 and return flight $0. So you pay the same amount for your 2 flights but if you ever have to modify your return fare you are pretty much paying for a new ticket.

    • I got burnt about 5 years ago. They cancelled flight and offered a refund otherwise next flight a few days away. $0 fare plus a $5 seat selection fee. Risk you take I guess. I got $5 bucks back, however did have a whinge to them they sent me a $100 goodwill voucher which was good.

      • I really hate this free return promo because of this. They jack up the departure flight price so the total cost is not cheaper than the normal promo. I prefer the type of previous promo so you don’t get burnt with the return leg of the flight if it is modified.

  • Finally, managed to use the refund voucher received from Jetstar couple of years ago.
Trip book for Queenstown in late Aug. Time to book a camper van now…

  • Family of 5 flying to Melbourne for 1.2k, while I don't love Jetstar was not keen to pay 2k+ so good find!

  • Thoughts on the Gold Coast to Japan flights in september, would Japan even be open for travel ?

    • +3
      • Haha thanks for that. Just weird on why they would advertise the flights if they are unsure, if i were to book would i get refunded or what?

        • If Jetstar cancels the flight then you will get a refund. If Japan is still closed then its highly likely that Jetstar will cancel the flight, you just have to wait until they do which could be last minute.

        • They already sold me a ticket for may then cancelled. Qantas also cancelled all flights out of BNE from the start of April.

They (and you) are just gambling on it being open.

        • I just got a refund on similar deal to Japan for the end of June. Accomoda ton was all refunded too. Considering rebooking with this deal.

  • heard jetstar is removing its one time fee free covid flight change. can anyone confirm?

    • This Sunday apparently

  • Scored 4x returns to phuket from Sydney with 20kg bags and seats for $1096 for 3 weeks in aug/sep. Will use it as a base and get to Bangkok and Ubon from there

Direct flight from Sydney too. We are in Brisbane and with bags it would have been nearer the 3k mark or more
