    REMINDER:

You don’t need to travel both flights within the travel period. Ie- I wanted a flight next school holidays return, so booked one leg in July and one leg in Feb 2023. I did the same for the reverse, paid for the July school holiday return fare then the reverse back in Feb 2023. So essentially for a return fare I was going to buy this school hols anyway, I’ve now gained a free return fare later down the track as a bonus.

Only the $0 fare needs to be in the travel window.

  • Why is Syd > Phuket listed as from $379 when it appears to be from $259?

    • Would you rather pay $379?

    • Are you looking at one-way flight ($259) with an additional fee for the return leg?
Can't find any $0 return fare for SYD —> anywhere international during travel periods listed

      • What about fly out August 20th, return 27th? I'm saying it appears to be possible to get return for $259 once the sale starts. Right?

        • The sale has already started today, for Club Jetstar members?
Isn't the general (public) sale from midnight tonight, until 11:59pm 5th May i.e. there will be no seats on sale for the general public?

          • @ilikedeals: I am not a Club Jetstar member but it shows $0 with Club Jetstar for the return leg.

What if you check via incognito mode when you aren't logged in?

            • @watwatwat: Just tried via Incognito, and not logged in - still $487pp return for these dates (as an example)

              • @ilikedeals: https://imgur.com/d8jpKE4 is what I see. Am I doing something dumb?

                • @watwatwat: Thanks for your help. I was just searching on the main screen, and it would show me the price for that "day" - it's only when I click on "select flight times" that I can see the $0 fares - which is a bit difficult on the main search page!

That's an awesome find, I will go back to my search now!!

    • It’s weird how they sort of advertise it, it’s like they advertise at RRP however cheaper fares exist scattered across the search engine.

Ie it says Sydney to cairns return $190. Yet I got it for $111 return, one leg $111, the other $0.

Few years ago we got SYD-Hawaii for like $249 return.

  • What am I doing wrong, or is this sale already over?

I have tried the following searches (all departing from Sydney) - selected departing flight and looked for $0 return fare over next 6 month period - NONE found!!

    • Sydney Auckland $266 26 Jul 22 - 22 Sep 22, 12 Oct 22 - 07 Dec 22

    • Sydney Hamilton Island $169 01 Sep 22 - 15 Sep 22, 13 Oct 22 - 15 Dec 22, 10 Jan 23 - 28 Feb 23

    • Sydney Ho Chi Minh City $339 22 Jul 22 - 16 Sep 22, 16 Oct 22 - 06 Dec 22

    • Sydney Honolulu $389 06 Feb 23 - 20 Mar 23

    • Sydney Perth $212 01 Sep 22 - 22 Sep 22, 11 Oct 22 - 14 Dec 22, 16 Jan 23 - 28 Feb 23

    • Sydney Phuket $379 01 Aug 22 - 14 Sep 22, 24 Oct 22 - 05 Dec 22, 08 Feb 23 - 22 Mar 23

    • Sydney Queenstown $327 26 Jul 22 - 22 Sep 22, 12 Oct 22 - 07 Dec 22

    • Sydney Seoul (Incheon) $550 02 Nov 22 - 14 Dec 22, 01 Feb 23 - 30 Mar 23

    • Sydney Uluru (Ayers Rock) $215 01 Sep 22 - 21 Sep 22, 11 Oct 22 - 15 Dec 22, 03 Jan 23 - 28 Feb 23

  • Melbourne to Townsville during Melbourne cup holiday weekend - $320 return for 2 including 1x 20kg - win!

  • There's some return for free flights outside of the advertised sales periods too - at least there were for Syd-Bali in early October when I looked.

I got early Nov for 2 for $530 return. Cannot complain at all! I did fork out for a Club Jetstar membership as well because I was worried the flights would disappear too quickly in general sale.

Remember if you book a jetstar flight on special it will be at a reasonable time, and then in a few weeks it will suddenly change to a 1am departure time or some shit.

    • They did that only recently to me. Cancelled a 4pm flight yet put me on that horrendous 10pm Gold Coast to Melbourne flight which gets in at like 1230am. Refund and went virgin.

  • Any special flights from Brisbane to Rockhampton?

    • Jetstar.com

    • Jetstar doesn't fly that route.

      • Really?

  • Ok I have been proud to have never paid for jetstar club membership in the past and have had to race at midnight, but I just did to lock in Phuket for $249 return.

    Thanks OP!!!!

May we all pray for good times and no covid interruptions.

This is the post I made celebrating in Oct 2019 during the last jetstar return to Hawaii sale but I didn't know what was to come:

    • Did you make it to Hawaii before covid?

      • Nope, cancelled.

if you're looking for cheap flights during school holidays then check Malindo air.

  • Congrats to anyone who has bought. I just booked for my family of 5 to go to Bali in Nov!! First time going there… Now all I need to do is passport renewals, insurance, hotels, visas, sim cards, activities….

    • Depending on where you want to stay, I highly recommend the Amnaya in Kuta - absolutely brilliant. It's also right beside Waterbom as well and very, very central.

Speaking of Waterbom, it's an absolute must do. It's a waterpark and it sh*ts over anything we have here in Australia.

      • Thank you! I had a look at the Amnaya and it looks awesome, with great pricing!!! But… They only have double rooms left which doesn't work well for 5 people..

100% adding Waterbom to the list! Thanks for the recommendation!

  • Booked for the family of 4 to Phuket for $876 return including 1 x 20kg.

  • Thanks op.. melb to sun coast in jan next year 330 return for 2.. 1 checked bag.

  • Wooohooo BNE > PPP (Airlie Beach) for $60 return Wed 25 Jan to Sun 29 Jan (Australia day Thu 26 Jan)

  • How good are the prices? Am I better off looking to buy later in the year?

  • +1

In my experience this is js biggest sale of the year.. they'll have other sales later on but prices may not be as good as it is now.

  • Was Bali 30 days visa free before?

    • Yes, there was a Free 30 Visa Exemption available to virtually all countries.

It was suspended when the pandemic broke out.

  • Thanks OP. Family holiday booked. Melb to Cairns free return for 3 under $600. Cheers,

  • Commenting re-opened by request.

  • My direct flight from Sydney to Phuket has now been changed to have a 7 hour layover in Melbourne.

Jetstar club is non refundable and for these flights, they won't offer anything other than the option to refund it. Not even sure if I could get that, as I paid with partial gift card. They also can't offer to change dates without me paying hefty fare differences.

    Sigh.

    • Ah, they also changed the day of the flight as well. Jetstar totally screwed this plan, I'm likely to have to cancel the booking now and take the loss on the $50 Club Jetstar scam.

OMG… That sucks so bad! If you've booked hotels and everything.. what a nuisance! I hope that doesn't happen to me!
