  • Total minimum cost of $30 for the first 12 months.

    • no, you can cancel after 6 months, so its free

      • "*Offer is 6 months free NRMA Blue trial for non-NRMA Members. Offer is applicable on NRMA Blue Pay by the Month term package only and on a 12 month contract. "

        • +1

          The T&C are really confusing…

          It also says:

If you do not wish to proceed with your NRMA Blue trial 6 month free offer Membership during the first 6 months of the free trial period, you can cancel your Blue Membership anytime only within the first 12 months online.

        • After your 6 month free trial, NRMA Blue is just $5 per month from month 7 onwards.
Total cost $30 over 12 months. Cancel anytime.

          • @screensaver: Yes but you have to pay for the remaining 6 months anyhow because it's a 12 month contract. I have been with NRMA roadside assist before and their policy is that you can cancel anytime however their policies come in contacts of 12 months. So no matter what you would have to pay $30 for 6 months and it's not worth it.

            • @Crustydumpling: I doubt that. It says cancel anytime. And its a free trial. They cant say free trial if its not free.

              • @screensaver: Free for 6 months yes.

              • +1

@screensaver: I just asked NRMA for clarification and this was their response:

Yes, you will still need to make the $30 payment as the cancellation fee, as per the terms and conditions

                • +1

@triviums: omg. this should be advertised as half price, not free trial. They could be fined by the ACCC

                • +2

@triviums: We’re sorry there’s been confusion. All of our subscriptions are usually a 12 month minimum period in which either an annual or 12 monthly instalments are debited over the course of the subscription.

This offer for new Members is a little different though, as it provides the first 6 months of coverage as a free trial along with a bonus 15cents per litre off at participating Ampol locations. You can take advantage of the offer by joining until 30 June and the bonus fuel offer is valid for 21 days from the date you join with NRMA Blue. This offer is only available using our special join offer link https://www.mynrma.com.au/monthsoff-blueoffer. If the product isn’t right, Members taking up this offer can cancel within the first 6 months at no charge in a few simple steps online, without the need to call. After the 6 month free trial, NRMA Blue will be charged at the standard rate of $5 per month from month 7 onwards. There’s no cancellation fee to cancel within the first 12 months of this offer, and a Member will only be charged the monthly payment amount, based on the month of cancellation and not the remainder of the 12month subscription under this offer.

Hopefully this provides some clarification, and hope that you’ll look at joining if not already an NRMA Member.

What’s the point of NRMA Blue?

For a start, Ampol is always seems the most expensive and the rest are just some pretty standard discounts

    • +1

It count as 1 policy with NRMA, you might able to up 1 tier for the loyalty discount.

    • +1

You receive auto club discounts at Repco/NRMA caravan parks etc

      • +1

I have the Road Service with Blue but don’t understand why you would get it on its own.

        • I only have it as was free for 12 months and then was extended for another 12 months. I wouldn't pay for it.

        • You can potentially save more with the dicounts at caravan parks, than the cost of membership ($30/yr)

        • +1

We offer NRMA Blue for people who do not own a vehicle, holidaymakers or for those that have coverage with a vehicle manufacturer but still want to keep a Membership without roadside assistance, and the perks of the benefits.

    • Ampol near me is the cheapest after 5 cents discount through nrma and the giftcard

    • 5c off per L normally.
      But 15c with this offer.

Also get 3% off Ampol gift cards.

The other day my local Ampol was 10c more expensive than Costco. But after 5c + 6c was 1c cheaper.

    • If you are near a Costco you might as well pay $60p.a. for that as the fuel will always be cheaper and you can also shop there.

NRMA Blue may see value if they start charging money (as long as free for members) to use EV charging stations which are currently free.

    Hello Pam!

  • Anyone worked out how to get the trial as when I sign up it’s telling me it’s $60 for 12 months?

    • pay by the month term package

      • I did that but it doesn’t look like a trial. Looks to charge $5 straight away.

    • There is a specific link to sign up to access the offer, if you haven't already yet done so: https://www.mynrma.com.au/monthsoff-blueoffer

  • I am already with NRMA so dont know anymore than the page says. altough I do know there are quite a few benefits inside like dining and health insurance discount with australian unity

  • Is the 15 cents off supposed to show up in the app? It's showing me 3 cents. I used the link and got the free 6 months. I don't want to fill up only to find out the 15c doesn't apply as there are other servos cheaper with the 3c

    • @slimdealin The bonus fuel offer will take up to 5 working days from date of join. You will receive an SMS notification once the QR code is ready to access within my nrma app. The QR code is then valid for 21 days only from the date it is issued. Simply just scan the code at a participating Ampol location ( marked in red) via the my nrma app and also have the latest version of the mynrma app. If you are not able to access the offer or have any issues, please give the team a call on 13 11 22.

      • Thanks for the response, I'll keep an eye out

  • Is it a single 15c code?

Also, it’s really really crappy that there is no loyalty reward for members remaining. It’s this shitty behaviour that made me cancel my top tier roadside assist years ago- I never used it but kept it as a why not, was refused any loyalty bonus or discount, so buggered it off. Goes for all companies, should be a focus on retaining customers.

  • @HelpMeiCantSee, sorry for the delay here. The 15cpl discount is a single use code, which is valid from the date of issue. Outside of this, we do have a discount in place of up to 5cpl at participating Ampol and Caltex locations, which throughout the year have also been known to increase for a limited time. We're sorry that you cancelled your Membership many years ago and whilst there is a re-occuring Membership discount for Members with 25 years + Membership, we are looking into retention further, with targeted offers during the Membership cycle and renewal period. We value all of our Members and being a Member owned, we want to balance rewarding existing Members and growing to provide even more benefits and services for all.

    • Three questions

      1. Is the discount of ANY fuel type? Or just premium fuels.

      2. Is the discount available only at Ampol and Caltex, or does it include Caltex Woolworths stores also?

      3. When I used my nrma discount (5c/L) at an Ampol recently, then scanned my Woolworths card to get Frequent Flyer points it deleted the NRMA discount. Why is that?

      • Hello @Tiggrrrrr, Sorry for the delay.

        1. The bonus fuel offer is a 15 cent per litre discount which applies to Premium fuels which includes Vortex Premium 98, Vortex Premium 95, Vortex Premium Diesel, Amplify Premium Unleaded, Amplify Premium Diesel; and a 15 cent per litre discount on Regular fuels which includes Unleaded, E10 and Diesel at participating locations only.

        2. The discount is not available at Caltex Woolworths locations as they offer their own rewards program and available at participating Caltex and Ampol locations. You can identify a participating location using the mynrma app, with participating service stations marked in red, via the map in our app.

        3. I am sorry that happened. This offer as well as the standard discount of up to 5cpl, cannot be used in conjunction with any other fuel discount or loyalty offer, which would include the Frequent Flyer program.

Hopefully this helps, but also we hope the benefits with NRMA Blue come in handy too.

        • Thanks for that. I'm already an NRMA Blue member, but my Dad was going to sign up.
Noticed I have a 10c off next 3 fills offer on my account, so that's a bonus.

          • @Tiggrrrrr: Thanks for being an NRMA Member, and for thinking about this offer for your Dad. Hopefully there are some savings that will help, even outside of the bonus fuel offer. Great you've received an extended discount too, as an existing Member. We hope the savings helps!

Does it ask for payment details OP ?

    • Not worth it for the amount of texts, notifications and emails they've spammed me with since signing up. Genuine pests.

      • just opt out

      • opting out was the first thing i did - still use it for Event Cinemas tickets

    • Just tried but it doesnt work for previous members..

    • Am I wrong?? sign up is direct debit for 12
months. Meaning charges in months 7 to 12.

As is direct debit for a min 12 months cost is $30.

Nothing free or $5 per month about it… Meh

      Misleading title

      • Cancel anytime, 6 months trial. what is misleading?
