Australian Made P2 4-Layer White Face Mask with Earloops - 100 Pack $98 (Was $140) Delivered @ PPE Tech

1090
SAVE

Been meaning to buy some more disposable masks and these were fantastic last time.

Wasn't too happy with the $140 at checkout and couldn't find any good codes online so I tried some keywords in the coupon field… SAVE seems to save you an additional 30%. Under $1 per mask.

I tried a few other items too and seems to work on everything, happy to be corrected though. (EDIT; looks like only white masks, black masks code doesn't work?)

Why? Next wave coming and all that jazz

I read somewhere last year its supposed to be one per day or every few days if you only use it for short bursts. I personally use one for about a week or two while shopping and leave it hang it on the mirror in my car to let UV rays keep it clean. Only dispose daily if I feel it was extra dirty like midday shopping at costco, catching a train or at the doctors.

    • My understanding is that you should not use a mask again once you have removed it for about 7 days, then you can reuse them providing you have stored them properly. I'm not sure if this goes for surgical masks as we only use the KN95/N95 masks.

      EDIT:
Ok. I looked it up. Store in a brown paper bag for 24 to 48 hrs before reuse.

Quite frankly, I don't care anymore.. wear a mask ,double mask, tripple mask, or even a brown paper bag if you want.. if you want to breathe in your expelled air go right ahead… 2 years in this shit, after all the lockdowns, mandates, social distancing, "95%" being vaccinated, we still recording thousands of cases a day, why are people still sick and dying and getting the virus and it being passed on .. .. its getting beyond stupid.

Suicide rates at an all time high

Families in more and more debt to stay afloat if not outright ruined

Family businesses wiped out across the lower and middle class

The government/science/health don't care about you eating junk food binge drinking and packing yourself into stadiums to watch sportsball, though

Got a link proving suicide rates are at an all time high?

@the cringe: Not a shred of evidence you've provided to back up your claim below

            What? Are you high?

You literally quoted a paragraph that states the suicide rate dropped during the COVID-19 pandemic.

            How ironic. 🤫

The amd ones are a poor fit for me. If these are better, it’s a win for me.

  • +1

So an earsaver clip is shown in some of the photos but not mentioned anywhere in the product description. Anyone who has purchased before, do these come with a clip?

    • +1

I have purchased these before and there was a bag of clips inside each box. I had no idea what they were for because the instructions make no reference to them.

      • I just had a look at their eBay store and on their listings there it says "Each 25-pack contains 10 FitGrips".

      • +1

This is a pretty big hole in the P2 standard. The only way these masks can pass the P2 standard is by having that clip used in the testing for total inward leakage. Without it, it would never seal well enough to pass the total inward leakage test. That's why NIOSH would not approve earloops as N95. You wouldn't see earloop N95s being sold.

It's clever trickery. Use the clip in testing to pass P2 tests, but then you know most people would never use the clip.

I have these and AMD masks. While these ppetech masks are relatively comfortable and feel like they're giving pretty good protection, there is something not right about how it sits around you nose. The seal isnt great.
I feel much more comfortable and protected when wearing the AMD masks.

    • How is the fit comparable between the two? With respect to how they 'sit' around the nose and chin. I have a larger head and have seen reports that these rub on the nose for longer periods.

I have KF94 masks I bought from Korea (Good Manner brand) and I find they only just sit between nose and chin. If I talk a lot or yawn, they tend to pop off either my nose or chin. I find the fit a bit of a balancing act.

Looking for a large fit mask.

      • You'll find AMD's are a bigger size than Korean kf94's, glasses wearer with a largish head and I find they are best for me, unfortunately the best way to know is to try them

      • I'd say the PPE tech masks have more of a solid plastic peg that pegs onto your nose, where as the AMD is more like a bendable wire that you can press when you put it on to fit shape of your face.

AMDs can ride up a bit and before you know it be just below your eyes
When this happens I just gently pull from bottom of the mask (under my chin) so top of the mask is across approx middle of my noise. Becomes second nature and makes masks very wearable

  • Shame it’s only for the white ones. Bought anyway to stock up as I’m almost out.

Is anyone honestly still wearing masks now ?

    • Depends where you go, but you'll get a better deal in Singapore or the US on better quality masks.

  • +1

Tried these and the strap welding is a shocker. Often misaligned. I wouldn't be my life on the straps sticking to the mask. The quality control seems lacking as you can see from the reviews on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/Australian-Disposable-Breathable-C…

Better to stick to the tried and tested 3M Auras or 3M Vflex masks

    • Ah that sucks. That seemed to be the consensus (or at least a red flag for me) from previous threads about this brand. Didn't particularly want to pay $2 per mask ($1 with this current deal) when I can get top quality KF94 masks from Korea for $1 each.

Have had several strap weld failures from multiple Chinese and Australian manufactured masks but the Korean ones have been top notch so far.

      • +3

Yeah KF94 standard is more heavily policed by the Korean MFDS. The P2 standard in Australia less so. KN95s made in China? Yeah lets not even go there.

I have to scoff every time someone says N95 = P2 = KN95 = KF94. On paper sure. Not in reality.

    • Where are you getting the 3Ms from?

      • Depends on the model, dm me. The Vflex you can’t get locally, but I have some of the Vflex 9105S (small) to spare if you want some.

  • Can't get a decent seal with these, better than surgical but better to go with something that has a stronger seal IMO

  • +1

I initially read the deal as "Face Mask with Eneloops"

  • I must have a big head, these kill my ears and only barely fit with the clip. Quality is good, and the seal is much better than a surgical mask for sure. But wearing these for a long time make my head hurt. I must check out these AMD ones mentioned in other comments.
