I know Vornado Air circulators are quite well received, but reviews for their fan heaters are not so good. Most say the thing is piss weak as a heater when it is on maximum, it only manages to blow "warm" air due to it's design. You will see it is by design reading the details on their website, if the air is too "hot" it rises to the roof and there is not much in terms of heat "circulation" of the room.

In my opinion if you want to get the Air circulator at the full price of $199 and get a saving of 50% off the fan heater as a "bonus" than you can claim this deal.
Otherwise I recommend going with another fan heater, or getting the Vornado Air circulator on it's own if you need that and save some money.

Of course this wouldn't be a useful comment without a fan heater recommendation.

I got this $69 Goldair Workshop heater from Mitre10 for my elderly mother because she needs hot air to hit her legs when she's using the loo at night and her 15 year old fan heater was starting to smell like it was constantly burning dust. https://www.mitre10.com.au/goldair-2000w-workshop-ceramic-fa…
It was "special order" at the time, so took a week to be ready for pickup but it was well worth the wait.
Yes I tried thoroughly cleaning the old fan heater first but no dice it continues to smell like it's burning.

This fan heater is really under the radar in my opinion, on it's lowest settings with Heat level 1/2 and thermostat in lowest position it puts out a lot of heat so much so I was worried it would be too hot. I can't imagine turning it up, it would heat up a workshop/shed real fast in my opinion. Set the thermostat any lower than half-way and it would turn off, I think due to the air temperature when I was testing it. But yeah it's a really strong fan heater.

At 1/2 heat level it should consume 1000w so less than the Vornado on full blast which only puts out "warm" air while consuming 1500w.
It is compact but square and upright enough to feel the heat from 40cm away when it's on the floor.
Feels really well put together and has the safety features such as turning off when tipped over. It's also a hybrid ceramic/fan heater design which is apparently more resistant to collecting and burning dust with long term use.
The only negative I can say about this Goldair workshop heater is it takes 1-2 seconds for the heat to turn up when you first switch it on, I think this is also a safety feature because old fan heaters did not do this so the heat element can start to run "hot" because it triggers too quickly and the fan is running slower from age/has collected with dust.
We even had one of the two identical old fan heater's melt itself a little due to this problem.

Agree with that Vornado heaters are useless! I love the power of their normal fans (have a couple), but was really wanting their heaters to be as powerful.

I bought the VMH350 from JBHIFI and returned it the next day as the performance was so poor.

I do not recommend this heater to anyone unless it was selling under $100… $50 even.

      • "I do not recommend this heater to anyone unless it was selling under $100… $50 even."

Yeah that's why in OP's deal the only way I would think of it would be paying normal price for the Air circulator and paying $100 for the Vornado fan heater.
It might do the job keeping a small room warm, but I wouldn't count on it helping someone cold warm up by sitting in front of it or when you get out of the bath/shower etc.

    • Totally agree! Bought this bundle during free shipping last time. The fan is great but the heater is very weak. It can’t even keep a 5sqm bathroom warm. Wouldn’t recommend.

    That's a lot of features…

  • I love love love my Vornado fan but the heater was the biggest ever waste of my money- it hurts to say but please avoid the heater, spend your money on a $15 kmart fan heater for actual warmth this winter
