Been eyeing this one for awhile, most places have it around $160 or more. Lowest it's ever been according to the Camels. Good reviews on the Tube, and you're paying for the all-metal quality, cable concealment etc. Not much else on the market if you're wanting a low profile mic arm.

Prime for next day delivery, otherwise a week or so.

Why does it need a battery

    • Battery?

      • Scroll down to product information, it says battery not included and ‎1 Lithium Ion batteries required.

      • Doesn't all inclusive add where wave 3 kit can be bought also

    • There's no need for battery. It's just a mic boom arm

      • Weird that it says '1 Lithium Ion batteries required' under product information then.

  • Thanks, OP. Same - I've had my eye on this one for a while. Now to work out how to deal with the cable run to my USB switch.

  • Excellent arm, been using it for a long time, prefer it than the traditional ones.

Why does it need a battery

  • I've got one and it works great for my set up cos the over hang boom arm places the mic in the shot.

If you have a heavy mic like the SM7B, Rode Procaster etc, this could make the arm sag unless you tighten it super hard (which is advised not to)

    Works fine on my MV7

    • Haven't seen anything about not over-tightening but I'll keep that in mind.

I originally had some sagging issues with an SM7B, but seems to have gotten better over time, haven't adjusted it for months.

Other than potential sagging, the magnetic plates are also very easy to knock off with cable movement. I don't love the arm, but I think it's decent for the price/format, coming from someone that hasn't used many of them.

  • How much weight can it handle?
I had to sell my PSA1+ because it couldn't fly a 1kg mic (Rode K2).

So much talk of battery in the comments. I’m kind of shocked, but I guess you asked for it

    • 1 Lithium Ion batteries required

It’s great that you can use any battery of this particular chemistry. I’m connecting this thing to my Tesla for superior results

True, but fair's fair.. I shouldn't be responsible for inaccuracies in the product listing :)

      • You survived the battery, and kept your spirits high. I admire you for that. But if you’ve “been eyeing this one for awhile” you should think about owning your shortcomings. Just an observation

  • Had seen mixed reports about its ability to hold up a mic without sagging, but picked one up and it's doing fine with my MV7 :)

  • way better than over the arm/traditional ones, doesn't get in the way.
