One of the only 2011 Xperia phones not getting ICS

    • +2

It is halfway thru 2012 and most of the SE phones still stuck in 2.3 :\ When is ICS coming out for Xperia Arc??

    • +1

You can still et ICS roms over at XDA. I got an xperia play at kmart and I flashed an ICS rom, works great.

      • In what ways does ICS make this a better phone? I might flash it if it's worthwhile.

      • Native data usage manager and the web browser feels a bit smoother. I don't play any games on my phone so I can't comment about GPU performance.

    • The reason from sony
      http://www.phonearena.com/news/Android-Ice-Cream-Sandwich-vs…

ICS not always the best bet for android phone.

My Galaxy S still on gingerbread, you can troll me for being "old fashioned"
at least i still can move my apps to sd card and not always clear up rams from time to time :)

      • Sorry.. but most manufacturers will find just about any excuse to not deliver. Its whether you believe it or not.

ICS is much more stable than GB.

If RAM is such a critical issue - then need to tell the stupid Telco vendors to strip off the crap they keep putting on the phones by default.

Deliberately delay the old phones ICS upgrade so they can sell the new ones come with ICS? Hope you upgrade the phones instead of the OS? Dodgy marketing strategy.

    • Sony do not have any phone out with ICS yet so i dont know what you are ranting about?

What is the Target Key code for this item? Wondering if I might be able to get the free games even though I purchased this last time it was advertised on Ozbargain. I just need the key code and then I can give it a go.

this phone had potential but doesnt deliver. poor battery to add to it, this sits on my table for days without getting used.

    • +2

can i have it then? lol :p

    • What's the batt life like?

      • -2

On standby (no calls/wifi/sms/nothing at all) you dont even get 2 days.
To use the phone normally you have to charge it daily which gets anoying quick if you forget.

        • If you're interested, there's an aftermarket extended battery you can buy for $34 USD via MugenPower. Not exactly cheap though, but I can vouch for their genuine stated capacity.

  • I had 2 Sony Ericsson Xperia S. One had an unresponsive touch screen and the other would fail while I was using the camera and music player. I would check online reviews of this one before purchasing incase it has the same issues.

  • Are these phone locked? How to unlock

  • Mine was unlocked out of the box. Some are, some aren't.

  • mine was locked telstra. so be wary
