Ainol Novo 7 Aurora 2nd gen for $119 USD via Red Tablet PC + Ramos W17 Pro $79USD

Found it while browsing RedTabletPC. They seem to be running some sort of weird promotion involving selling dual core tablets at cost price, probably to compete with the likes of Spemall and Merimobiles.

There is a fairly big catch though — the only 2 methods of payment is Bank Deposit and Western Union — Paypal is not available at this time. Buy at your own discretion. No Paypal means you have a lesser chance of getting your money back in case something goes wrong, like the tablet going missing in the post or falling off the back of the delivery truck.

Seriously considering getting one of these.

They've also got the Ainol Elf II for $99, which seems to be the same as the Aurora II except without the IPS screen. The only thing is that the Aurora II lists that it has 8 GB internal memory, whilst the Elf II lists it as 8/16 GB, without any visible option of being able to select one or the other. Does anyone know if the Elf II will ship with 8 or 16 GB? The Ramos W17 Pro meanwhile has 16 GB.

Other than that, the main differences between the three tablets is that the W17 Pro can't access the Google Play Store out of the box, and so you would need to use a custom ROM. I'm fairly sure the Ainol tablets have the Play Store right away. Also, the Ainol tablets have a 2.0 MP front-facing camera whilst the W17 Pro is only 0.3 MP front-facing, and the Aurora II and Elf II have 3700 and 3800 mAh batteries respectively, whilst the W17 Pro is 3200 mAh.

    • Oh yeah, and the Ainol tablets have mini HDMI ports whilst the W17 Pro doesn't

  • how do you do a direct deposit in a bank in china?

    • Via Online banking? I've done it a couple of times on eBay.

  • their paypal is down but should be 'up soon'

    good deal on the aurora

    • I wonder why they took it down — to avoid the Paypal merchant fee perhaps?

They could've just charged extra for the Paypal fee.
