Terms & Conditions changed after purchase of voucher - Living Social - K9 Hobart/Kingston

Sometimes I wonder whether there is any hope for group buy sites.

I bought a voucher for my dog from this deal (which I submitted btw)

http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76658

As you can see the T&C's are cut and pasted.

However I looked at the voucher today and spotted that this little gem has been added to the web page/voucher

"Valid for new customers only or customers who have not attended in 6 months".

I know this was not on the deal when I bought it, otherwise I would not have.

I have seen clever people find web pages that are cached, and it would be really good to find the original version before it was modified.

If the business does not honour this how likely is it that Living Social will refund.

Sigh I feel a credit card dispute coming :(

Not pleased at all!

Oh as an explanation the comment I made "Mind you I wish it was given as a discount to their regular customers!" was not in relation to this new T&C - it was a comment relating to a discount on their regular price would have been better for me than a once of voucher with a short expiry date.

from August 8, 7AM reveals the same terms and conditions:

    • Valid for new customers only or customers who have not attended in 6 months

Doesn't mean much as the deal was posted 2 days previous. Might be a bit difficult to prove. If they changed it then they should have a record. I guess ask for a refund and see what they say.

  • Thanks Neil

Hopefully they will do the right thing - I know its a he said/she said otherwise

I should have printed it all out, but its a hassle.

I have an inkling of when it was changed, they initally had the wrong setup Monday was billed as $20 and the rest of the week $15 (so back to front).

I rang them direct to let them know the Living Social had listed it wrong, and it was corrected later that day.

My Monday voucher was changed to a Tues-Sat voucher then.

It will irk me if they kick up, as without my phonecall they would have had a glorious mess on their hands.

I guess its just a reminder to us all to PRINT OUT the T&C at the time - and even then its not ideal.

  • complain to fair trading
they will back off if the merchant refuses to budge
but enough complaints will even get the hard hearted nsw government to beef up their consumer protection and the departments they are gutting in the name of 'business good, government bad'.

  • Well blow me down!

Contaced the merchant and they honoured the voucher under the old T&C - which they knew had changed.

That's what I would do, but you never know with group buy deals, as they have the ability to attract merchants that are not sensible.

    Quite impressed :O

    • well they should go by the T$C you purchased the deal or people should get a refund.
