Request: Way to jump to subsequent unread comments in a deal

When a deal gets lots of comments in a short time frame it can be very difficult working out what comment is new. The "My Account - Comments" jumps to the first unread one, but a way is needed to jump to the next unread one. I have tried locally finding "mins ago" which helps in slow moving threads, but high activity threads are impossible to follow (e.g. iPhone 5 from Kogan) fully without re-reading heaps of stuff.

  • Yep, that feature should be rolled out very soon (days). Also included will be jump to OP's comment, Rep comments, Mod comments, negative vote comments. Stay tuned.

    • @moocher will be rolling that out tomorrow morning :)

  • Ok, I tried this in the Kogan iPhone thread and I'm glad there is a way to do it now, but I think the experience could be further improved. I'll wait for a few more goes at it before I comment on how.

I did note that adding my own comment before I had finished reading all the new comments seemed to reset my position in the unread queue and I had to start reading again… very annoying. I will go back and comment after catching up until this is fixed.

  • Great work with the new buttons scotty and team. Thanks.
Just wondering if it would make more sense to make them a bit bigger from a usability point of view?
Also probably this is too much; but if we could have some kind of temporary highlighting effect on the comment to which the screen moves to; it will be awesome.
    Just some feedback.

  • If one of the unread comments has replies itself then once it has been read I think those replies can be taken out of the unread comments queue because we will read all the subsequent replies. That would prevent some of the disjointed jumping around when there are a large number of unread comments to catch up on.

    e.g. given
    1
    -4
    —6
    2
    -3
    —7
    5

Assuming that 4+ were unread, go first to 3, then to 4, then to 5. Ignore 7 and 6 as these would have been read after 3 and 4.
