Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy [Blu-ray] £10.00 ($18.99 delivered) from Amazon UK.

Description

From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg, the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy is one of the most successful film franchises in worldwide box-office history. On a remote tropical island, an amazing living theme park becomes a game of survival for humans foolhardy enough to set foot on it. Meticulously recreated dinosaurs spring to astonishing life as the film’s breathtaking special effects and thrilling action sequences keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Each chapter of the history-making saga delivers even more action and spectacular visual effects than its predecessor, as nature’s ultimate killing machines once again rule the earth. Almost 20 years after its inception, the Jurassic Park Trilogy remains an unmatched cinematic experience.

Jurassic Park I:

A multimillionaire (Richard Attenborough) unveils a new theme park where visitors can observe dinosaurs cloned using advanced DNA technology. But when an employee tampers with the security system, the dinosaurs escape, forcing the visitors to fight for their survival. Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern star in this thrilling, action-packed blockbuster from acclaimed director Steven Spielberg and based on the novel by Michael Crichton.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park II:

Four years after Jurassic Park's genetically bred dinosaurs ran amok, multimillionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) shocks chaos theorist Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) by revealing that Hammond has been breeding more beasties at a secret location. Malcolm, his paleontologist ladylove (Julianne Moore) and a wildlife videographer (Vince Vaughn) join an expedition to document the lethal lizards' natural behavior in this action-packed thriller.

Jurassic Park III:

In need of funds for research, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) accepts a large sum of money to accompany Paul and Amanda Kirby (William H. Macy and Tea Leoni) on an aerial tour of the infamous Isla Sorna. It isn't long before all hell breaks loose and the stranded wayfarers must fight for survival as a host of new — and even more deadly — dinosaurs try to make snacks of them. Laura Dern, Michael Jeter, Alessandro Nivola and Trevor Morgan co-star.

    • If you don't mind waiting multiple weeks for it to arrive. Amazon UK standard delivery is a lot quicker.

      • Depends on the item, sendit obviously have these in stock as they say it will be despatched within 24 hours, quite often it will say 'despatched within a week' or month and so on. So this should be just as quick as amazon.

        • Amazon UK standard delivery option (Royal Mail) goes through the air mail route. I doubt sendit.com is offering free air mail. More like it's the cheapest and slowest to arrive option which is Royal Mail Surface Mail which will take a long time to arrive (15 working days according to sendit.com own faq which is 3 weeks) and which is why they can offer free delivery. It won't be any where near as quick as Amazon UK which is usually about a week and a half and some times less. That extra $2.24 will get it to you door weeks earlier. You can't even buy a bottle of coke for that.

        • Haha sea mail? Zavvi/TheHut/Sendit all send their items via Royal Mail - Air Mail. Do you honestly think a company could get away with sending their items via sea mail without informing their customers of this?

"Free shipping" just means that the postage cost is included with the item cost. I.e. they don't sell an item for $5 if it's going to cost them $6 to ship it.

My experience with these aforementioned companies is that their items take around 2-3 calendar weeks to arrive. My experience with Amazon UK is that their items take approximately 1-3 calendar weeks. So yes, potentially a bit faster, but potentially also the same. Hope this helps :)

There's no way in hell that Zavvi can send a package from the UK to Australia through Air Mail for £1 just think of it. Even Amazon with their huge postage buying power can't pull that miracle off. It's Royal Mail Surface Mail which is the cheapest delivery of them all. Royal Mail Air Mail doesn't take 15 working days either. I get mine to regional QLD in one week to a week and a half from Amazon UK.

It doesn't cost them only £1. Do you think that websites that have "free postage" pay $0 to send their items? Of course not. That £1 they charge just partially covers their postage cost (and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have to pay tax on it either - saving them 17p) Also surface mail takes aaaaaaages.
AAAAAAGES. Surface mail does not take 2-3 weeks. It takes 2-3 months.

I have had items arrive from Ozgameshop (UK based with free shipping) within 5 days.

Funnily enough, my latest 2 orders to arrive which arrived on the same day were from Zavvi and amazon. The order placed with Zavvi (which is the same as sendit) was placed 4 days BEFORE the order with amazon. Both were despatched within 24 hours. So yes, Amazon were quicker, but both were sent by air-mail. As johnno says above, if had been sent by surface-mail, it would, without doubt, take months to arrive.

My guess is that as Zavvi is based in Warrington, their goods may take longer as their closest airport Manchester, would be less frequently visited by the cargo planes used to carry their goods compared to Amazon's which are mostly based closer to London.

  • Fair enough. Any way whichever way you go Amazon UK or sendit.com it's still heaps cheaper than the $39.98 (On Sale price) which JB Hi-Fi wants for Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy blu-ray/dvd box set. Who needs some DVDs any how for a blu-ray player.

  • Zavvi also has this at $18.28 delivered if you're interested.
