        • I sent an email to WD and they replied back in 10 minutes !!!

I called gift card planet and got the same answer as you, they will call me back.

They suspect the cards were sent out too soon, before they have been entered into their system…

        • Woohoo !!!

          Success!
Your gift card is activated and will be ready to use 12pm next business day.
          Happy Shopping!

        • Me too, it now works they probably updated all the "recent" batch of card numbers that were sent out.

  • Just received mine today too, in the 6th week after being told it was on its way.

Tried to activate and it says card not found, called the gift card planet and they said not found on their system either, they will call me back when they have further details.

    • they will call me back when they have further details.

did they say they'll call back in 4-6 weeks ??? :S

  • Just received my second gift card for purchasing 2 of the same products. First one was a couple of months ago. Happy days!

    • Did you use different names or addresses?

      • Same name and address….. Lucky I guess.

  • Just got mine finally….
I got staff discount when I bought my WDTV and thought maybe they wouldn't honour it,but they did.

  • After querying about my claim, I received a reply on the 14/2 advising me that I was unsucessful due to an invalid 25 word answer.

They even signed off the email with "Please feel free to look out for future WD offers."

Why would I ever look out for future WD promos, when this was the most shambolic promotion I have ever (attempted to) become involved with???

Move forward 2 months, and much to my surprise I received a $50 voucher in the mail yesterday. Have already activated it, so if it was an oversight who knows.

  • +1

I too got my card finally after having a massive go at them. Never mind now i can totally forget the brand WD and never buy anything from them. Whoever organised the promo should be shot, biggest fail in terms of marketing. Christmas promo made me laugh seeing as its past Easter.

  • Still waiting for my card

  • I had two claims, one got rejected and one got accepted; low and behold I received 2 gift cards!?

  • I received my gift card a week ago, after originally being rejected, and activated it online, but when I try to buy something it says the card has expired. I've tried it at Coles and Coles Express. this has been nothing but a huge hassle. Put me off cashbacks for life.

  • still nothing…

  • Still dealing with Western Digital.

they told me they are going to look into my case and similar cases where I was rejected for claiming two of the same product types

  • Bought 2 of the same products - got told i would get one card - got that one two months ago.

Got a second card in the mail last week

    Winner

    • After WD initially rejected one of my cashback claims on the spurious grounds that the terms indicated that multiple claims couldn't be submitted for the same product type (their interpretation), I sent off a carefully worded e-mail in no uncertain terms threatening escalation of the matter to VCAT (Victoria) last week, and today I received a follow-up call advising that my second claim had been approved! Judging by the number of dissatisfied responses here, it seems like not an insignificant number of people have been denied their claims on these grounds.

It pays to be persistent and to escalate the matter through the appropriate channels if you don't get a satisfactory response.

      • Yes they told me now my 2 rejected claims are now approved. I will settle for this. Though they should really apologise - say it was their mistake and I was correct with assuming I was following their terms correctly and maybe something extra for all my time wasted ringing and sending multiple emails and lodging a complaint with fair trading which were useless anyway.

  • Woo, got my gift card last week. Between December and May, I sent them 3 messages over Facebook, to which I received prompt and friendly (enough) replies. I'm just glad they're starting to come through for people, especially those who were previously told their claims were rejected, but are now approved. I hope everyone has theirs by the end of the month!
