No need to say much about this great little laptop.

10" LCD screen - larger than 8.9" and 7"
wireless N - faster and more coverage than wireless g
6 cell battery - last longer than 3 cell battery
120GB harddisk - more space than 80GB HD or <30GB SDD
1GB - more memory than 512MB
* although 2GB will be better

The only shortcoming I can see will be no dedicated graphics card as seen in the latest ASUS 10.2" model which sells for around $900.

At the time of writing, it says that this offer will end in 1 day and 10 hours in the homepage.

    This deal [1] is a lot better if you can get it, if not, then any Aldi store with this unit in stock is likely to be otherwise discounted to $499 (I've seen them discounted in store),

    It looks like that Medion E1210 only has 3 cell battery, can anyone confirm?

    Although they two are similar, if I am using this laptop on the train, I will be much more willing to show off that I have got a laptop with MSI than "Aldi" :)

      The Aldi product is a simple MSI rebadge. Having it say Aldi may mean you would be less of a target for theft or assault though. Do you have a rolex too, sorry that is so shallow…

        Wrong. The Medion does not have internal blue tooth, has an ugly dongle out the side. If you plan on using your mobile as a 3G modem I'd pass.

        EDIT: And you really think people care about MSI, hardly the best brand out there, and definitely not in the Rolex arena :P

          Fair enough, but it also has 802.11n … anyway, the price difference is quite a lot, not sure you can fairly properly compare the two with such a wide price gap.

          The dongle only sticks out by about 5 millimetres, it's not really that bad.

    You can still compare IF you can still buy the Medion at $399.

    Just think if you can justify the $150 for a bluetooth and 3cell->6cell upgrade and a "brand upgrade" ;-)

    Of course, the comparison becomes pointless if no more $399 Medions in the universe.

    How come the expiry on this special is listed here as today only? I don't see anything on the website that says it's only valid for one day. Or am I missing something?

    (ok, perhaps there is only enough stock for one day lol)

      Oops, clicked -ve instead of +ve. I'm just so happy they cleared up the fact that 10" was bigger than 8.9" and 7", it was getting confusing for a while.

        I would like to point out that there is another thing for you to be happy about…
        I have also cleared up the fact that 120GB has more space than 80GB or most SSD (solid state drives).

    I just bought from onlinecomputer. I pick the notebook today and very happy with the bargain :) 10" for $549 (glory…glory….). Medion vs Wind = Wind(for 6cell, bluetooth and brand)
