Haven't seen this good of a deal in ages. They also have sales for a bunch of other engine oil viscosities, good time to snag them

ive seen many people make the same comment on their posts
I've only ever had good experiences with Sparesbox. While some items can take a while to arrive, I read the comments beforehand, so it wasn’t a surprise. I once bought 5 x 5L of oil due to a pricing error, and they still honored the order. It turned out the stock I ordered was no longer available, but they offered a newer equivalent with the same viscosity at the same price. I really appreciated the clear communication and the option they gave me — I was happy to accept it.
interesting, I've only had an issue with them when I bought some ceramic coating spray and it leaked everywhere due to not being packaged properly, they sent me a refund and let me keep the item which still had like 50% left which was great.
I've bought quite a bit of Penrite oil from them and it usually arrives in record time compared to their other items. I suspect the order goes directly through the Penrite distributor and is sent by them as it usually arrives within a couple of days from ordering.
Syn semi or min?
It's on the label, full synthetic.
Thanks.

edit: title updated, thx 👍
This isn't a bad deal, but the 5L jugs of this stuff has been sold for $37 in previous deals.
I'd rather buy 4 smaller jugs than have a 20L barrel that's open (environment can have an effect on oil) for 2-4 years depending on your car.
that's fair. my car takes 6L of engine oil so I opted to save more $ by getting the larger tank. I believe the 5L version is around $48 from sparesbox as well.
It's not that great a deal to be honest. Plus messing around with a 20L container instead of 5L sizes.
Quick question: my car is still covered by capped price servicing, should I change engine oil by myself?
My wife's vw has a 15000km service interval and I paid for 5yrs upfront servicing already. I always change the oil myself half way in between every service interval with genuine vw filters.
This way I change the oil every 7500km. I think 15k is way too long.
For new cars I normally change the oil at 200, then 1000 and then a maximum of 5000-7500km between oil changes. I do something similar with gearbox and diff.
Of course, I'm being over the top (I like to tinker l, it's therapeutic for me) , and if you're not planning on keeping the car long term, go ahead and just follow the status quo.
Honestly, Sparesbox are the worst.
They messed up my order 3 times in a row back 2 years ago.
I gave them another shot 3 weeks ago, what I ordered (oil filter) and what arrived (blue paint rattle can) had absolutely no relationship whatsoever. Requested a review into what happened, the reply was "something wrong with our ordering system, here is your money back"….I still needed the bloody item I originally ordered…
