830

Have been watching the DWE7491-XE model for a few months, after I missed the one in May. Just picked it up with a Price Beat at Bunnings.
Staff were hesitant, The older tool shop guy didnt know what to say, but couldn't argue with the price after looking it up on his phone - Listed at Bunnings at $999.
Down to $711.00 on the receipt for this Saw, I then added a couple of IRWIN clamps to sneak over the $750 total for Spend and Get $150 gift card.
Spend&Get running 19th to 22nd Sunday.

Crazy price I paid $1049 in 2020 and Im pretty sure I bought on special

    • I am in much the same situation.

Great table saw. I have mine mounted on the DWE74911 which I bought at the time for $249.00.

    • Pretty much the same for me from Total Tools. I thought it was a good price.

I also got the DWE74911 mentioned by @GRP. That really makes a difference storing up against a wall in my garage.

    • +1

I bought mine last year for $999 with a bonus stand a circular saw - and I haven't done anything with it… This deal is crazy low.

      • +1

        OzBargain'd

      • Think I paid 1300 😭

  • Bunnings Alexandria has this one for sale at $799

I got my local Bunnings to match it a week or two ago. Unfortunately with their price match against themselves they didn't then beat it by 10% like they advertise

Still $799 for this saw is pretty good

  • Cracking deal

    • +3

      RIPPING DEAL!

  • +1

Good but a week ago it was 650 plus delivery

    • +1

You might be thinking of the smaller model DWE7485-XE

      • +2

        You are right!

  • bought this in may- such a beautiful beast!!

  • the terms say power tools and garden power tools, how could clamps fall into that category

    • I dnt think clamps counts too.
      Any other replacement?

      • I'm hoping getting a higher toothed blade counts, eg https://www.bunnings.com.au/irwin-254mm-80t-marathon-pro-mul…

        • In the breadcrumbs, this blade is under
          Products
          Tools
          Tool Accessories
          Power Saw Blade & Accessories
          Mitre Saw Blades

        • What's the advantage of using a blade like that?

I'm guessing it's a big advantage given how much it costs.

      • I just realize that they put brands like IRWIN, sutton over there, these brands dont really have a power tool selling.

Guess we gonna have a try, lol…

        • +3

          Yeah you might be right!
The printout at the register says " Purchase Tools and Accessories from these leading brands to receive.."
I did just submit redemption, so will update if i hear!
Just checked the "Power Tools" category on bunnings, there are actually no IRWIN products in that category at all..

          • @md-trafalgar: good luck and let us know how it goes. It is a bit risky

            • @ggfatty: I tried the same thing, worst case scenario is; we only get $100 gift card and return the clamps though, no?

        • +2

Update just in! Confirmed email I have received the $150 e-gift card.
          @kayndev
          @ggfatty

    • +1

Terms say Power tools and Garden Power tools categories. In store, all Irwin clamps and hand tools are within the power tool section. I reckon you could argue that perhaps?

      From the T&Cs
Products must be currently stocked and within the power tools and power garden categories. Products include products ordered as a
“special order” provided they are fully paid for during the Promotion
      Period….

    • +1

you could possibly just buy https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-rapid-heat-ceramic-glue-g… and return it after you get your egift card?

      • Win win… great idea !!

  • +2

I thought they beat it by 10%? So 799 -79.90=719.10?

    • +2

      Correct, that’s what I just paid ($719.10).

    • +1

Yeh, was about to post the same thing. Not sure where $711 came from.

  • That’s an excellent price outright. Only time it comes near to that otherwise is if Total/Sydney tools are doing their 20% back in points days, and you need other tools.

  • +3

Don't forget to claim Bunnings $100 gift card on their Spend and Get promotion for purchases from 19-22 June.

  • Fantastic deal, I'm surprised Bunnings haven't updated their web site price yet with the price matching after so many hours, last week I did a 10% price beat with the smaller DWE7485-XE (got it for ~ $600), they updated their web site in about 20 mins. Got to get in quick for the price beat.

    • I'm surprised Bunnings haven't updated their web site price yet with the price matching after so many hours

They have for some Sydney locations.

      • +1

It's been that 799 price in Sydney locations for weeks

I got my local QLD Bunnings to price Match it a couple of weeks back

    • I got that too….I'd be curious which of us got them to lower their advertised price

put my price match in on 10th June but they really dragged their feet

    • They have just now $799

  • Good find, thanks OP

  • If you are thinking about it, just buy it. Bought it last year for a lot more than this and it's such a great machine.

  • Amazing deal, the shops typically run a 'in store cash back' deal instead of discounting to avoid price wars but things are tougher so there are some price attacks out there at the moment.

Best value on this would be to price match it at tool kit depot who have a spend and gift card off that is up to 20%, so if they price match it to $799 you would get $100 gift card after you buy it. If you need anything else to get you to $1k you will get $200 gift card.

I have this exact saw, one of the joys being it is such a common saw here and in the states there is plenty of good content online, i watched these two.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANPMwvTut5I&t=2s < setup which is quicker than the user manual that comes with it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGELmT9k_mQ&t=12s < fine tuning, i didn't have to do heaps but worth it.

    • Whoops, missed bunnings also has a spend and save on at the moment. Yep bunnings would be cheapest option that is awesome value.

  • I think i need a mitre saw before i get the table saw but this price is too tempteting especially if i can buy a couyple of Irwin clamps to get to $750 after price beat and get a $150 GC.

  • Has anyone (OP?) successfully claimed the clamps as part of Spend & Get even though they're not power tools? I'm looking at adding a Dewalt flashlight which is in the power tool section of the store but considered 'lighting'.

    • +1

Yes, just came in now at $150 eGift card so they have taken the clamps into account.

    • Anyone received their Bunnings gift card from their redemption? I lodged 5 business days ago and nothing!

      • Yeah I purchased on the Friday and got the voucher on the Monday.

  • +2

just bought one from Thomastown Vic, nice staff. price beated easily. I also added a Irwin clamp to achieve $750 mark. hopefully I can get $150 credit.

  • -3

Bunnings expo at Melbourne today had a sweeter deal

  • +3

If you've got a small workshop, or you're tight on storage space, this unit is great. I've owned one for years and it's hard to fault. Get some quality blades, make your own cross cut sled, and build your own cyclone separator to get a pretty decent setup in a tiny space.

  • Scored too. Recon this won't last past today. Had to get a manager to approve as they were shocked by the price. Got a better blade to cross the 750 mark instead of clamp. Thanks Op!

  • Scored this morning too. Bunnings manager not happy.

    • +3

I don't understand why they behave like it is coming out of their pockets.

  • Is this suitable for hobbyist? Been thinking about getting into woodworking but no idea where to start.

Say to build a coffee table?

    • +4

I started with this saw a few years ago. It is good to get started but the sliding grooves are not the most accurate IMO. I built quite a few pieces of furniture with it but I wish I could get the SawStop instead. But this is pretty much the best you can get at this price point.
Please be very paranoid when working with table saws in general.

    • Hobbyist? Yep, totally. The EU has mandated that any saws sold must now have a blade brake, so you don't loose any fingers. SawStop is the most well known brand to implement it but they cost a bomb. I expect we'll start to see hobbyist table saws get this feature soon.

      • Hi Brett, do you have a link to recent information about the EU mandate re table saw safety? I'd like to learn more about it as I'd love for the market to get more competitively priced sawstop equivalents.

    • +1

Thanks, will look into SawStop, never heard of it, but sounds like the go to.

      • +4

I moved from this DeWalt to the SawStop CTS 10". Overall, the SawStop is a capable hobby level saw, but in almost every way the DeWalt was nicer. All metal and smoother rack and pinion fence adjustment, metal throat plate, motor braking to stop the blade more quickly when you shut it off, quick release for the riving knife. The kicker for me is the piece of mind that the SawStop has the emergency brake. No one ever goes out intending to chop their fingers off, but it happens, even to experienced operators. For the sake of a few hundred extra $$ and a slightly less fancy saw, I'd take the SawStop any day of the week. I'd never forgive myself if I lost some fingers over saving some money, although this is OzB so I don't know how many people will share my opinion 😆

  • +1

Thanks OP, scored one at Gungahlin ACT. I am third one according to the staff

  • +1

Thanks to OP, wanted this to replace Aldi first table saw as a hobbyist so this should be so much more capable. Stacked deals make it great value.

  • Does this come with a saw stop equivalent/ static electricity drop for safety?

Pretty sure if I trip, I'll be a goner.

    • +1

Nope. Keep your pinkies well away from the blade and don't do stupid shit with the saw. Watch the youtube vids on what NOT to do before you use a table saw. My mate recently used his table saw (well the arc of the table saw blade) to cut out a chamfered radius from some skirting timber. He set up a makeshift jig and pushed the lengths of timber through on a jaunty angle to nibble out the radius he wanted (because he didn't have the correct sized router bit to hand). It worked a treat for almost all the lengths of timber he was feeding through and now his left thumb ends at the second knuckle.

  • +1

Thanks, Purchased just before lunch in Wollongong, NSW with price match.

    • +1

I spent 70mins on hold waiting for bunnings to answer. If you didn't receive an automatic email saying you're spend and saved was received, then you need to resubmit as it wasn't registered. I submitted on the day, and 1 week later and neither time received confirmation emails even though the submission page said submitted. They are apparently aware of the issue but haven't updated the website to notify.

      • I received confirmation emails followed by rejection. Had to submit again multiple times for it to be approved.

  • -1

Dudes, it's great if it gathers dust but it's unforgiving. Use a push stick and a sled etc etc.

    So many buying it…

  • Looks like bunnings is happy to get rid of these at heavily discounted price, must not sell well.

  • +1

Thanks OP - just grabbed one from Delacombe (Ballarat) and added an 80T blade to get over the gift card level-up. They've got at least one still there.

  • +3

I just picked up the last one in Bellambi (Wollongong) with a sydney tools price match this afternoon - also got the DeWALT 18V XR 2 Piece 5.0Ah Compact Combo Kit with a free recipro saw thrown in. With the $200 spend and get credit the whole package comes down to $950, stoked with that.

  • +2

Picked one up for $480 today at my local Bunnings..it was the last one left and heavily discounted. Bought another $20 worth of clamps so am due for $100 back in gift cards…score!

  • Local bunnings refused to honour the price beat and just told me to go to sydney tools… spoke to someone online who put it through to a different store near me and told me that it's at each store's discretion whether they honour it or not. Still not getting price beat, only price match. First time trying bunnings 10% price beat and so far 0/1.

    • +1

Lowest prices are just the beginning!

    • +2

Name and shame. Why a Bunnings employee would care is beyond me. It’s a legit match… also the policy doesn’t mention anything about store discretion

    • +1

Update: Went to another bunnings a little further away and they honoured it :)

      • Good work, when i did it they really didnt want to …. asked 21 questions…. Trade price ? in stock? then got someone else to come over take a look ask the same questions again. then after they agreed they were not very nice at all… like they were defeated somehow….also never asked if i needed any help to get in car…. and bunning make a massive deal of their price beat policy. wish there was a real competitor to Bunnings if im honest.

        • +1

Yeah my local rang around the local Sydney tools to check stock, ask if it was on the floor, if anyone has rang and asked to hold it for pickup, how long the sale is on, why it's on sale. They gave the poor clerk there the 2nd degree just to try and avoid the price match. Ended up pissed off at me and honouring it.

          • +1

@ratman: Yeah …. What is with this guys…. I used to work for a store that did price matching …. If it was legit business I had no issue at all…. Feels like I’m taking money out of their wallet and make you feel shit…. Might do what the receipt said and offer my feed back!

        • jeez… luckily this one was two old fellas who, while thoroughly verifying the price at Sydney tools, seemed relatively chuffed that I managed to pull it off haha

i absolutely agree with the second part, it's essentially their slogan.

i was so caught up with actually managing to do it that i forgot to make it up to $750 for the extra gift cards :(

    • Write a complaint and include date/time and name of the staff if you know it. Send it to bunnings customer service and cc the CEO ([email protected]). I did that and received an apology call from the store manager. I hope the staff member would learn the lesson.

  • +1

For people buying extra blades - hope they're not for this saw, as it has an arbor size of 16mm (5/8”), which is common in the US not but not commonly found in Australian stores for a 254mm table saw blade. Basically means you're stuck buying Dewalt brand blades only, or buying online importing them from overseas.

    • +3

The Irwin blade i bought with it came with washers to cater for 25mm and 16mm arbors as well, so it's not as much of an issue.

Still annoying though, because I'm not certain that's standard across the board for us

  • +2

    Great price.
I'd recommend anyone using Dewalt gear attends the Bunnings Trade Expo. They had great combo deals.
I picked up this table saw with stand & a bonus 54V Dust Extractor DCV586MN-XJ (RRP $543) for $850.

They also had similar deals with their miter saw & thicknessner.

  • Any suggestions for a good blade for this saw? I will be using it mostly for cutting plywood.

    • +2

The blade that comes with it will be fine for turning plywood into sawdust. I use the SBGP-25440-TK blade for projects that need a better finish. FWIT I also have the DBOXM-08 dado blade which is awesome for finger joints if you don't want to cut them by hand.

  • Anyone received their Bunnings gift card from their redemption? I lodged 5 business days ago and nothing!

    • +4

Nope, nothing yet. 6 business days.

      • Turns out it would have been good to enter the right receipt number. Once I did that I had the credit within a working day.

Best to cut and paste it from the emailed invoice, as it's both very long and in tiny font.

        • +2

nah, they totally mess this campaign up.

My receipt number is correct, they just have issue processing.

~~ I bet they still use staff to manual check to look into receipt and send gift card. ~~

Update: well, I resubmitted again, and got gift card within an hour.

          • @kayndev: I agree. This is a messed up campaign. They are manually verifying and randomly rejecting claims. I had to submit 3-4 times to finally get approval after rejections.

    • me either.

  • Submitted on Sunday nothing as yet ! How does the gift card come in an email ?

    • Mine took a week to get a decline email because I transposed two digits from my receipt.

Once I submitted the right number I got an email within a day.
