Grab your copy of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 or Mac office 2011 for $8 - $15 depending on what country you choose($8 for NZ, $10 for USA and $15 for Australia.
This pricing is only for eligible email accounts with company/education emails.

Also works with hotmail accounts but will cost you $30, because you will have to buy both the DVD backup copy and then add the license (as per ozbargainers comments, plz read thread page 4 and after).
From teh comments, MS charges $15 for the Licence first and possibly charges the $15 for the DVD later after its shipped. It is possible then to contact Microsoft and cancel the DVD to save $15 as per here.
Also note that when using a hotmail email, you can only purchase MS Office for Windows. Not sure why they dont allow to buy MS Office Mac when using hotmail

To Use with Hotmail:

Use any @hotmail.com address and then Program code 05383F4FAC.
But you better be quick before they fix the hotmail bug
Please all thank methos for the tip

If anyone is interested in the pricing of Office 2013, i got it from here

I have tried everything, no Mac version. If anyone knows how I can get Mac version please let me know.

      • Same here!! Desperate for the Mac version but only received PC version in hotmail… :( does anyone know how to purchase the Mac version for $30?

        • on one likes to help??

  • Can't seem to download it via that link they gave me, it downloads this exe file but when I click it, just tells me I can't install? Running windows 8…

  • Hey guys, i found a tip for those who got the empty cart error. You still can buy a copy for $10.00 NZD ($8 AUD). It worked for me.

    1. Use a Hotmail account with the program code that allowed you to get to the "add to cart" page.
    2. Keep that tab open. (it shouldn't let you add anything to cart yet).
    3. Open a new tab http://www.microsofthup.com/hupnz/home.aspx?culture=en-NZ
    4. Use same Hotmail account and program code: 05383F4FAC, click Submit.
    5. Go back to the 1st tab and click "add to cart" button and it added.

    Enjoy!

    • +1

      Negative :(

    • didn't work here either. what browser? did you wait a little bit before hitting "add to cart"?

    • They have fixed it, it actually worked for me last night. Just goto Hotmail and open email link to buy but don't do anything. Then, open another link to MS office offer again, enter any Hotmail email accounts and program code 05383F4FAC. Finally, go back to your Hotmail purchase link and add to cart.

    • +2

      craving for attention much?!

    • +4

      Troll much? LOL

  • I just did it with my wife's hotmail account, it worked.

  • ya just tried my hotmail and got accepted.

  • Did you guys have to get the backup media ? I gave this a go and could only get it with the backup media for $30 which I bought. Following the instructions exactly didn't work - but I was originally using an email from last night. I then got a new email generated but that only got me the $30 option. Still a very good deal - and tax deductible for my wife.

  • I am having problems with Hotmail.
Haven't seen anyone else comment on this one.

When I register it sends me the email "Microsoft HUP: Shopper account information, activation required‏"

Then in the link it says Buy Now and when I click it, it just takes me back to the original page asking for email and program code and when I do that again its just a big loop. Ive tried IE and Chrome and 2 hotmail accounts.

    Anyone else have this problem?

    • wait for the confirmation email they send you and use that link to make purchase

    • Yes I had this exact same problem on my ultrabook. I was away from home and couldn't get it to work and wondered why/if I was the only one having this issue.
It didn't show any option add to cart.

So I just got home and I tried it on my desktop and I got the extra buttons.

Weird as both use the same versions of Chrome and IE.
It must be some sort of browser security setting.

  • How many computers can you install this copy of Office to?

    • For HUP licences you can only install on 1 computer however they allow you to install on your desktop and laptop for 2 activations only. I had to ring up for further activations when I upgraded my OS from Vista to Windows 7. Easy though I explained what happened and they activated me over the phone with some long code to type in.

  • +1

doesn't work for hotmail anymore :(

    • Yes it does, at first the emailed "Buy Now" link didn't work for me but it did a minute or so later.

      • I tried it and it doesn't add into cart (empty cart)

        • +3

You have to click to add backup media (or whatever it was called just to the right of 'add to cart') - so the hotmail method means you pay $30 not $15.

        • thank you!

I read the OP & clicked the link but the link isn't working
          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/91344#comment-1211715
thought I could order it with $10/$15 digital media

  • Hey guys, what happens?

You buy Office for $30 right. Then they

    1. Mail you the license key (which works on two PCs)

2 Give you a link to download the web installer with your key embedded in it?

If so, question, can I download the ISO listed above in the comments above and do a normal install with my key?

    • Yes.

    • Yes, in fact this is how I had to do it as the web installer was throwing up the error where it can't find integratedoffice.exe and refuses to continue.

  • +5

    I HATE the capital letters in the upper tabs. To fix the capital letters;

    1. Open your Office 2013 application, click on the FILE menu.
    2. Go all the way down, and click on the OPTIONS tab.
    3. In Options window, go to the Customize Ribbon tab. In the top right corner you will be able to select whether you want to customize Main tabs, All tabs or Tool tabs.
    4. Hightlight tab's name and click Rename button at the bottom of the window.
    5. Now, in a small new window you can give a tab any name or just put a space before or after tabs name. Click Ok.

This simple act of renaming "Home" into "Home "
will turn capital tab name into normal case on the ribbon.
    6. Repeat that for every desired tab.

    Site: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/272950-office-2013-ribb…

    • Thanks for that, wish there were a way to Rename FILE though… It seems silly how everything in the FILE menu is just capitalized normally (first letter only) while all the menus on the top are CAPITALIZED.
You can also put a space before "Home" to " Home" and it will work as well :)

    • Wow, what a dumb 'feature'. Microsoft clearly had the non-computer literate people testing Office again. Thanks for the fix.

    • Great get, GozzHogger.

I hate the capitalised tab names too, but not enough to be arsed pfaffing about changing them by hand… hopefully The Lovely hates them more than I do (actually, thinking about it, that would just mean shoe would order me to change them).

Maybe I will change one a week for the next five weeks.

      • It bothered me the first day I saw it, but I quickly forgot about it. I never thought about it again till Gozzhogger posted the instructions above. I think it's one of those things that some people just get used to.

  • Griffith isnt working :(

    • This is not the place for critiques of regional development policies…

That sounded funnier in my head: "Griffith isn't working", get it?

Time for wine - the heat's getting to me.

  • Hi, can this be installed on 2 x desktop machines? Or is it 1 x desktop and 1 x laptop only? Thanks.

    • +1

Any two PCs irrespective of form.

What is the most votes record for a deal? Are we getting close?

    Answer found at http://www.ozbargain.com.au/stats 748
although I'm unsure of the criteria used by ozbargain for their listed most popular deals.

    • +1

It's not actually a list of the most popular deals of all time; rather it's a list of deals which have at one time been the most popular of all time (before being overtaken by another).

  • Just installed on PC and Laptop. Awesome….. Thank you thank you thank you!

  • Can someone explain how this works? We have to have an email account per the above email lists?

If my friend has an email account - can they buy it? is it just sent to their email? Or is their ongoing legacy issues if we use a friend's email in terms of activation and other things in the future that it isn't worth the while? Otherwise if it's a simple, purchase and get it sent to their inbox….? then i might do it :D

    • Just setup a hotmail account as it says. 5 minute job.

      • that's like double the price though? how would it work with the listed emails?

        • +3

It's $30 man, c'mon, seriously? If you can't afford $30 for a complete suite of top shelf software, maybe you should forego the chips, beer, movies, CD's, mobile phone, maccas for, ooohhh, a week.

        • Well with all due respect this is ozbargain… obviously i'd take <$15 over $30…we go into more detail with other deals for a few dollars here and there - why not now?

        • main issue is i'm in no hurry to upgrade from 2010 at that price, but if its' a bargain at $15 why not? i know not everyone will think the same .. but fair enough. Just seeing how it works getting a friend to purchase through one of those listed emails…. anyone care to share?

  • Bought two copies last night, thanks!

I couldn't purchase a mac version using a hotmail address.

Using hotmail, only the Windows version showed up, but was able to purchase with a backup dvd.

Then logged in with @austin.org.au email, and both copies displayed - so also purchased a mac download!

  • @unisa.edu.au does not work

  • Great bargain!
    Hotmail address works fine.

  • +1

Mac version using @hotmail.com isn't available. Thought I should mention it again for the 5th time. If it's available again let us know.

  • +1

Using hotmail account. I am not able to add anything to my cart using google. What to do?

edit: Ordered. Can I buy more than one?

    • +1

Just create another hotmail account. Buy as many as you like! :)

  • So NZ trick no longer works :(

Would have preferred to get one for $10NZD

    • Try selecting Afghansitan in the country drop down top right. Even the Taliban get it cheaper than us: $9!

      • That would be good - but adding to cart = adds nothing haha

  • did anyone's OneNote come up with blank pictures with red crosses? anyone know a fix? cheers

    • Mine works fine mate

      • All OK here also, suggest that you do a clean install (Uninstall, reboot, reinstall) instead of scouring the net for a fix. Could be a quick fix.

  • Doesn't work with @student.unimelb.edu.au.
    Only the staff qualified?

  • I'm getting a "site is down for maintenance" error……the beginning of the end, I think.

    Edit: Nope, back up again.

  • Has anyone using a Commonwealth Bank card got this to work at all? I've tried multiple hotmail accounts, every browser, etc and both my Comm bank cards and always get payment didnt work..

    • I've just attempted it via BPAY and am awaiting a confirmation email - curious to see if this works..

    • My Comm Bank Mastercard wasn't recognised as a valid card… Paypass worked in woolies though so the card wasn't cancelled or anything.
Works with ANZ Visa Debit, Bankwest Mastercard Debit.

    • +1

Paid with my commbank VISA credit card, no issues.

      • +1

Paid with my Commonwealth MasterCard with no problem.

  • Never mind, I used the Aussie page and it showed the option.

  • Got it. Thanks

  • Not putting the mockers on, but just wondering who initiated this program code? In MS's description of the HUP it states:

    Monitor Employee Usage
HUP Usage Reporting allows you to pull a single report from VLSC that shows your organization’s total volume downloaded and individuals who have taken advantage of this benefit. Use this information to encourage employee use and help them gain more Office suite skills.

What info does it give on the individuals i wonder? And to whom?

I haven't used the offer i was just reading up on the T&C of the HUP.

    • Not putting the mockers on, but just wondering who initiated this program code?

Microsoft owns Hotmail, so it may be for their Hotmail staff who don't use the @microsoft domain …or the code could have been deliberately leaked to inflate the Office 2013 take-up rates (?)

  • I bought this but am at work and don't have the T&C's with me. Can anybody advise whether this is downgradeable to Office Pro 2010 ? Based on a quick google it looks like volume license and software assurance customers have downgrade rights. Not sure whether that also attaches to the HUP licenses.

  • The hotmail program code works well. Not bad for $30 especially if you were actually going to buy Office for $400+
Also nice to have the language pack options.

  • sorted….

  • Not sure if its anywhere in the comments (did read most thought) but I strongly recommend people keep there Outlook at 2010 if you are quite a heavy user. The new one is CRAP the worst upgrade ever ! Its hard to know what's going on as its all white/gray and very spaced out, syncing your contact doesn't work (a great feature for windows phone users but its broken and a fix has not yet been released, it forgets settings all the time (like only download headers for some accounts) and if you use the download headers only and delete emails before downloading its now much harder to see what emails are new and what's been requested to be deleted as the greying out and strike through is gone now its just an icon when you mouse over the email. I have to reset everything back up on 2010 now as its just not useable like this. I guess wait for service pack 1 and try again.

Also if you want any customisation at all when installing download the installer (link in the fist few pages of comments) and run that not the link provided after buying it as it just installs every thing and doesn't upgrade from older versions. Also I don't think you can customise after install if you use the link they give you so your stuck with a bunch of application you may never use taking up space.

    • +1

Its hard to know what's going on as its all white/gray and very spaced out

To fix the all WHITE theme (in any Office 2013 product), go to FILE >> Office Account (or Account), then select a different colour for "Office Theme:" (I chose Dark Gray).

There is another problem with Outlook if using Avast antivirus (v7.0.1474). It may crash when you send an email. However, the workaround is to disable Avast, send email, then re-enable Avast.

      • +1

Yeah tried dark grey but its still nothing like 2010. I have lots of account and folders and it adds a lot of space between folders (even in non touch mode) so less fit on one screen. same deal with emails less fit than before. I don't see any benefits in moving to 2013 for outlook until the contacts sync issue is fixed and even then the other issues don't make up for the benefits.

This is just my advise try for yourself but be warned there are lots of bugs. so you may need to go back to 2010 if they affect you.

    • Did you install the 32 bit (recommended) or 64 bit version? That might explain the synching issue with your phone (is that through iTunes?).

  • nice.
cant believe i almost missed this

Bought the NZ $10 one with @defence.gov.au, thanks OP!

      Have we invaded?

      • Aren't they already an Australian colony?

        • -2

          Both are British colony!

  • Just registered as a hotmail australia account. I clicked on the link and i get the following message.

We are unable to find your user account for activation. We are unable to activate your account at this time.

  • looks like it does not work with anu.edu.au
    dame anu

  • @team.telstra.com Working. Thanks OP!

    • telstra had had this for years , versions 2007, 2010 and now 2013. always been $15 for me.

  • I am still waiting on a solution in order to purchase the office mac… dont have any other email other than hotmail.

  • Anyone else having a error every time they open up office after a restart? I keep needing to 'fix' it.

    • Go to Control Panel, select office 2013 and Repair it

      • -.-''' As it it asks me to repair it and I've been doing that every restart now.

        • Uninstall and Reinstall? :|
When you Uninstall, run Regedit and delete every Office15 registry entry you can find first?

        • Uninstall all the components for new version of Office by following the steps in the article below:
          http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

    • For kangaberries

I just had the same problem, disable ABBYY Fine reader plug in on Add-ins.

Open an Office program, for example Word (you may have to do it in excel too), in safe mode and disable COM Add-ins in Options -> Add-Ins -> Manage COM Add-Ins -> Go.

If you have a Bluetooth option remove the tick from that just like the above.

Now your going to ask how to get into safe mode (im using windows 8)…do the following

Press the Win+R key combination and type msconfig in the run box and hit enter

Switch over to the boot tab, and click on the Safe Boot check box

Tick the safe mode box and minimal

      Click OK

Now restart and it will boot into safe mode.

Do the reverse to stop it always booting into safe mode :)

      I actually uninstalled abbyfinereader :)

    • Thanks for the advice guys, I uninstalled multiple times and @stemcell was gonna try it but looks like so much effort haha.

I just uninstalled and installed the 32bit instead. sigh stupid 64bit. So far so good.

  • When everyone here downloaded and installed did you have to type your serial key in?, I did not type any key in during install and it says activated, where do you type the key?

    • -1

If you used the link in your receipt page, you will notice that the tiny installer file's name has your key in it.

If you used the .img file you would have needed to put in your key.
