Grab your copy of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 or Mac office 2011 for $8 - $15 depending on what country you choose($8 for NZ, $10 for USA and $15 for Australia.
This pricing is only for eligible email accounts with company/education emails.

Also works with hotmail accounts but will cost you $30, because you will have to buy both the DVD backup copy and then add the license (as per ozbargainers comments, plz read thread page 4 and after).
From teh comments, MS charges $15 for the Licence first and possibly charges the $15 for the DVD later after its shipped. It is possible then to contact Microsoft and cancel the DVD to save $15 as per here.
Also note that when using a hotmail email, you can only purchase MS Office for Windows. Not sure why they dont allow to buy MS Office Mac when using hotmail

To Use with Hotmail:

Use any @hotmail.com address and then Program code 05383F4FAC.
But you better be quick before they fix the hotmail bug
Please all thank methos for the tip

If anyone is interested in the pricing of Office 2013, i got it from here

So, how about the rest of the Office SKU's? For starters, the traditional Office Standard will cost $369, while Office Professional Plus 2013 is priced at $499. • Hotmail doesn't work anymore for this deal as posted in the comments below.

  • Thanks mate, bought a copy with backup dvd, $30 is a steal really, thankyou!

  • Any idea when the CD will be posted out? Anyone received theirs? I've only been debited $15 even though I selected the software on CD.

  • +1

was able to get verified and emailed a link with my hotmail account a few weeks ago, tried to buy it but got the red message :(
opened another hotmail account and still no go.
would like to know how I can get verified again, sigh~ should have bought it when I first received the email!

  • +1

    Yeah Hotmail doesn't work anymore?

  • +2

can confirm hotmail accounts no longer work - deal is expired (for hotmail)

  • I think with hotmail ac, it was working for more than 10 days and if still someone misses it, he/she was too slow to decide.

  • Not working anymore. I got a copy last week but need another :(
Where is the next cheapest place to buy?

  • When will the physical copies be delivered?

  • Thanks to the post from wxwsf, contacted them and had my backup disk order cancelled.

If people don't stop upvoting this post, Ozbargain will run into the vote-1K bug. The icon was not designed to hold more than 3 numbers. "999 +'s ought to be enough for anybody"

  • +1

Missed it because I didn't purchase it right away with hotmail

  • +2

I was quite happy to have a backup DVD so didn't bother cancelling it.
Yesterday I noted a credit for $15 in my CC account
Today I've received the backup DVD in the mail by DHL Express from Singapore.
    A happy Ozbargainer.

    • Mine turned up today

    • so free backup dvd? nice :)

    • Also got my DVD today

  • It's probably silly these days, with the ability to download the content easily, but I quite like having a new shiny disc.

    • +2

There are still people living within 50kms from Sydney and cannot get a broadband connection either due to distance from the Telstra exchange or Ports being full in their area.
Believe it or not, but it is true….

BTW, got my backup disc as well.

  • Office 365 subscription is avalaible for Uni Students & Staff @ $99 over 48 months if anyone is interested. Not near as good as this but you get the Skype minutes and extra skydrive storage.

I posted the deal up yesterday, but apparently it's been in the fourms for a while now already:

  • Tried with my VicRoads account but couldn't find the mac version. Anyone can tell me.how to select mac version ? I don't want the windows version. Thanks

    • Click the link in the email, and you should get this on the MS website:
      http://i46.tinypic.com/200a71e.jpg
(Note: It mentions that I'd already bought 2013, ignore that part)

  • It's strange, I got the dvd today, but still no xtra charge. It might be a freebie. Wait and see…

    • got charged now

  • I too got mine today, initially there was a $30 hold on my CC, then there was $15 debited on Jan 21st, and I just checked and it seems that there's now another $15 charge on Feb 1st, so it did end up costing $30, but still worth it!

  • If your workplace uses MS Office (legit of course), just ask someone in the IT department whether you can get this deal. I've done it for various versions in the past and it always cost me $15 or so and came with the DVD.

  • :( so hotmails all gone? Friends at the pwc email address, is it merely using email addresses to send your license etc too? i.e. there is no issue ordering and linkking it through his email as i can pull the license/dvd out from there serperately?

  • Just got my Backup DVD from Singapore today

    Cheers to you EASTERNCULTURE :)

  • so can the backup dvd be used to install office?
some people say yes, others say no.

    • +2

Yes, I used the DVD to install Office on 1 PC. You have to enter the Product Key (from the Confirmation email) when prompted.

      • Correct. The DVD is generic. You can download it direct & legal from DigitalRiver (links available at MyDigitalLife - which is down at the moment), or from "questionable" torrent sites. It's not illegal/weird/dodgy until you start messing-around with cracks/pirated keys etc.

    • Who says no? I'm curious what they think they DVD is for.

      • +1

cant be bothered looking it up, but someone earlier said something like "you cant use it to install, its backup only. i tried to use it to install and it just said 'MS office has not yet been installed on this computer'"
        or something like that.

good to hear thats not the case and they were trolling or just an idiot.

  • +1

Nice one, this is definitely a bargain.

  • Works with @jpmorgan.com

cheers op, happy to pay $8 I can now get rid of open office!

  • I actually need to get this for an office of 15 people, do they only recognise certain businesses of size or can i legitimately still buy 15 licences of this with our small business email acount and just get the one disc?

    • Technically, small businesses are not eligible to use this program (unless they already have a volume licensing agreement with Microsoft). The Home Use Program allows employees of volume licensing customers (usually businesses or government departments) to buy Office for use at home.

anyone know how to get hotmail to work? Someone posted <1 hr ago they got hotmail to work.

I just tried it and used my email address followed by the code "05383F4FAC" .

    Got this message:

"We are sorry, but we are unable to complete your request.
    The following problem(s) exist:

Please contact your benefit administrator to learn if you are eligible and to retrieve your program code."

Anyone know what I need to do? Is it my hotmail address that I need to activate or do something (From feint memory of reading previous msgs in this deal).

Also how does licensing work? According to wikipedia it seems like you get one computer to install it on and once installed you can't just install and move to another computer?

    Quote wikipedia:

"The License Agreement for retail editions of Microsoft Office 2013 is different from the license agreements of retail editions of previous versions of Microsoft Office in two significant ways:

The software can be installed on only one computer. Previous versions of retail Office allowed installing on two or three computers, depending on the Office edition.
The license cannot be transferred to another computer. Previous versions of retail Office allowed uninstalling from one computer to install on another computer. In previous versions of Office, this restriction applied only to OEM editions."

As per previous comments, the Hotmail code stopped working around 30/01/2013…

The Home Use Program is not a retail edition, it has its own terms & conditions. It can be installed on 2 computers…

That's fine, I got it from a friend.

It seems the license expires if he leaves his employment though? Is that true? Will it automatically cease working, or do firms rarely update microsoft on that?

I'm having a problem though, I downloaded the 'click to run' application upon purchase, it's downloaded.. but when i click it (its the 546kb file) it gives me this error:

"We're sorry, we can't continue because we weren't able to download a required file. Please make sure you're connected to the internet or connect to a different network, then try again".

Has anyone experienced this problem?? And if so how do I get around this to download the file?

        • Tried redownloading and installing the binary click to run file.

Now i get this error box when i try to run it to download the office programs:

"Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft OFfice 15\ClientX64\integratedoffice.exe'Make sure you type the name correctly, and try again.

As far as I checked in windows explorer this microsoft office 15 folder was just created by the binary file.

Very confused and have no idea what to do. Is there some other manual way to just download the whole installation file officially from microsoft without using all of this click to run intermediary stuff?

        • Yes, check page 4 for the links.

        • ''C:\Program Files\Microsoft OFfice 15\ClientX64..."

Are you trying to install the 64-bit (x64) version? If so, try the 32-bit version (MS recommend 32-bit even on 64-bit Windows)

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/91344?page=5#comment-121287…

        • SOrry didn't scroll back to page 4 for it… I'm not sure which I was doing 1bug? I originally clicked download, first click to install gave me that first error. Second time I tried i manually did the 32 bit choice option, got further but still stuffed up. Tried the fixes to just delete the microsoft office 15 folder in explorer but no luck.

Used this microsoft fix and it took ages to clean up everything and uninstall, but it fixed it. Tried the click to run and it worked.

Here's the link for anyone who has the same future problems:

          http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2809219

I note that my thing finished installing when I got home and i was straight into excel. No prompt for license code. Is it because it's taken my microsoft 2007 details and just upgraded me? Or because my click to install file name had my product key - are the downloads personalised to install based on your product key?

Otherwise is there somewhere official I can download a backup installation file of office 2013 please?

        • Any reason why 64 bit vs 32 bit btw? don't know the differences between the 64 bit windows/OS… but most software is in 32 bit correct? And it's better to go 32 bit where a choice is available right?

I must say the interface seems alot slower…when you up/down toggle and navigate, or drag, it seems alot sluggish? Too graphical/pretty ? lol. any way to improve or deactivate the flashy look for performance improvement?

Also - does anyone know, does the automatic update, if I disable that will that get rid of any issues re: if my friend whose email bought it for me, leave the company and therefore the license is revoked, if i dont have automatic update on I wont get booted off my copy?

  • To answer a few questions on this thread, following is an excerpt from the HUP FAQ.

    Software Use
Is it a fully-licensed product or is there an expiration date?
There is no specific expiration date to the Home Use Program license. If you leave the company, your employer discontinues its Software Assurance coverage, or you are no longer a user of the licensed software as part of your employment, your license terminates and you should discontinue use of the software. Your employer should notify you if any of these conditions apply.

Will there be another fee to upgrade in the future?
As long as your employer is a Software Assurance customer, eligible employees are allowed to upgrade to the latest version of the Microsoft® Office software available. To purchase, simply visit the Home Use Program site, select the appropriate software and complete your transaction.

Can I purchase a copy for relatives or friends?
No. The Home Use Program entitles each qualified employee to a single license of a qualifying Microsoft software program, to be installed on the employee’s home computer. Employees may not make additional copies of the software.

Can I get more than one copy or install the application on multiple computers?
Although you cannot purchase more than one license, it does allow for 2 installations on (1) PC and (1) “portable device” (ie. laptop).

Can the software obtained through the Home Use Program be given away?
No. The software may not be given away. The Home Use Program license extends only to the qualified employee, and may not be given away or sold.

Is the Home Use Program licensed software eligible for rebate or offers?
No. Software purchased through the Microsoft Home Use Program may not be combined with any promotions.

Darn it, I cant believe i missed the hotmail opportunity!!

    • Witht he multiple installations does it track where you install? e.g. installed on the laptop now, if I decide to get rid of this laptop, it breaks down etc, can you reinstall on another laptop or it'll just outright refuse?

Yeah i missed hotmail too - dang! got it through a friend (haha which according to the above rules is a no no)so it seems when he leaves im at risk of losing it :( but i guess it isnt' too badfor $15 if i can use it even for this year… lol

      • i just updated my pc from windows xp and office 2003, now running windows 8 and office 2013. Quite the step up.

        • You won't know yourself….

I would say it looks much better.

  • My @wh.org.au email address worked, and because they're all under the same IT system, I imagine that @mh.org.au and @nh.org.au would also work.
