Who's on the cover? A female protagonist.
She's wearing clothes that aren't skimpy, she's a solid well written character.
The game was solid and sold well.

Using political agenda's to bash valid takes on things is how we ended up with a huge chasm of people who got beaten down on to a point they go extremist.
You keep calling everyone mysoginists and sadly it causes a lot of them to own that label without shame or go against the common good just to stick it to those who punched down on them.
You wonder how we get a lot of extremists, this right here is it.
Guy didn't like something, dogpile on a bunch of people shaming them accusing them of hating on women, someone puts up evidence that goes hey wait…. the yay first female lead, yay open world narrative they were pushing on this…. was a lie they tried to push and when issues were found, they used the narrative as a shield.
This wasn't the first female protagonist in a star wars game, or the second, or the third, or the fourth etc.
They were also pushing a huge stretch here claming vast huge open worlds, let's be honest, the planets in the game are as "open world" as the open level locations in indiana jones and the great circle.
A lot of the game was broken at launch and still is as well, it also doesn't run great on a high end system or ps5 pro.
So making a comment that the game is trash could be related to overselling it as being an open world, which i'd argue it's got open levels and they're pretty empty.
It could be related to the crap storyline with poor narrative nad poor characters.
It could be due to the poor performance, broken game mechanics, broken achievements, the countless bugs that have still not been patched.
But let's pick a political stance and project it?
I'm waiting for the Switch 2 version goddamnit, don't make it harder!

IDK how I feel. Tony Hawk being a code in the box is fine with me bc I'll never part with it…but split fiction? Think I'd have rathered it be a game key card, we're nearly done with it, and we'll replay it as the other characters, been a blast and all, but I think once we're done done we'd probably never touch it again. That's primo "trade it in while it's still worth something" fodder right there. Can't trade a code, can trade a game key card.

Literally just Platinumed the game last night.
I will say, it took me 3 goes to bother make it through the first 2 hours, after that it just felt like any other re-skinned Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor game. I still took my time with it and spent 70+ hours on the game. By the end I was more relieved it was finished rather than satisfied with the story. Still glitchy as all hell, so many times that I had to load an old save for getting stuck, camera glitches where it stopped following the player, enemies not spawning on missions causing the game to not be able to progress etc. it's a shitshow in the QA department but for 18 bucks, id say it's just worth it.
Going by your comment I'll save my$18 and wait for an additional 10 off.

The problem is not gender or anything to do with a female being the protagonist, it's the fact the game is not very good. Bought it for $73 on Steam and have played 30 minutes. It's the same with the last three movies in the Skywalker sage, the problem wasn't Ray as the main female hero it's the fact the movies were horrible, and the writing and story was absolute crap and was made by people who have no idea or were not even fans about the Skywalker saga.
And yet, on this post alone there are 3 comments talking specifically about how the female protagonist is why the game sucks.

That's just a simple answer to the main problems with modern day Star Wars media both movies and games in those 3 posts made about gender being the reason this game sucks. The only recent Star Wars that have been successful is based on the original trilogy lore, characters and material. George Lucas will and always will be Star Wars, it's sad the bosses shafted him after Disney bought the franchise. You can argue the Ray saga is based on the OT, it is somewhat but honestly, they were just so bad and so poorly written it just ruined everything related to the OT.
The game looks okay as far as Ubisoft opens world games go.
You played 30 minutes of a huge, planet-spanning open world game. That’s like sipping the table water and saying the meal is bad.
Growing up we would have killed for a game like this.
Yeah, I know, I just got bored quickly. It's just a Assassins Creed game with Star Wars skins. It's sad but the last 3 saga movies were horrible, just trash. Only saving grace has been Mandalorian, Andor and Rouge One. And why they worked? Based on OT material and lore. But growing up we only had the OT, it will never grow old just beautifully made films, plot, lore and great characters.
Best game. Love the lore.
Everytime I buy one of these deals the game ends up on Game Pass or PS Plus the next month…
