  Quicksilver thongs are now terrible. Avoid.

  The bases compress and the pluggers break super easy.

  Kmart thongs for $1.50 are far superior quality. I actually used my old worn through Kmart thongs to replace the straps on my 2 month old broken quicksilver thongs.

  Rip Curl - if you have to have a brand are better (but also not as good as they used to be).

    I paid 2.50 for similar looking kmart ones. Lasted me decently.
