Digital Mastercard Debit Card ‘Gift Card’ - can be used anywhere? as good as cash?
As good as cash (though possibly with surcharge depending on where you use it 👀).
The offer terms and conditions says:
The Gift Card can be redeemed wherever Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay is accepted. Electronic Use only. The Gift Card cannot be exchanged for cash. The Gift Card should be treated as cash and is non-refundable. The Gift Card expiry date is 36 months from activation.
However, I actually think the Gift Card is classified by Mastercard as prepaid, because the claim form linked to this deal has a mock-up of the gift card with prepaid written on it. Most merchants will accept prepaid Mastercard gift cards, but:
It will be rejected at online merchants mandating any Mastercard cards support 3-D Secure, because prepaid Mastercard gift cards are unable to support 3-D Secure (e.g. GCX, the Wallet on the Everyday Rewards app).
It will be rejected at online merchants choosing to not accept Mastercards classified as prepaid (e.g. Cashrewards' gift card portal).

Fold will be released in October, so maybe fold deals will come later.
This is better than pre-order offers from Google and JB, both in terms of the amount and not being locked to the store.
Need some help from fellow ozbargainers re: release dates with OW - could you share your insight?
OW's release date is from 29th August which is later than others (28th) - and actual pick up date will be on 1st September.
I called their customer service as well as asking staff in store - both said it won't be available sooner than 1st.
I guess I will have to go with others (JB?) if I want to get the phone sooner?Anyone got the OW gift cards from the Flip 7 pre order deal yet?
