For those contemplating between the two, the C5 is the better buy, pretty much 90% of the way to the G5 and substantially cheaper.

Although if you're cashed up or appreciate technology, the G5 is one of the absolute best of the best TVs atm, alongside Samsung's S95F and Sony's Bravia 8 II/Bravia 9.
The major difference over the C5 would probably be peak brightness.

    • -6

It’s the same panel as the C series. Main benefit of G series is that it’s uniformly thick so it looks amazing amounted on a wall. Looks like a picture frame. Comes with a mount that lets it sit flush with the wall.

If you are not going to wall mount it, C series is a better buy. C series is also thinner for most of the TV except at the bottom where the other electronics are.

      • +5

It’s the same panel as the C series

        Not quite AI tells me

No, the LG G5 and C5 models use different panel technologies; the G5 features a newer, brighter four-stack OLED panel, while the C5 uses a more traditional W-OLED panel. While both offer excellent picture quality, the G5's panel allows for significantly higher peak brightness and color volume, making it the flagship choice for those prioritizing peak HDR performance and a flush-wall design.

      • +1

Not the same panel at all. The G5 uses a more advanced panel capable of higher brightness.

        Details here: https://www.smarthomesounds.co.uk/blog/faqs/lg-2025-tv-lineu…

      • +1

        False.

Unlike the G5, the C5 still uses a traditional WOLED panel

        https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c5-oled

    • Yep, the C5 in this deal is better value. :-)

But will add that in addition to the really good wall mount mentioned above, the G series also gets a 5 year warranty on the panel (incl in-home servicing).

    • +1

I would add though that the C5 goes quite a bit dimmer in gaming mode, and (at least a couple months ago) had some issues displaying HDR10 (PS5 uses this). I specifically didn't get a C5 because it didn't seem that great for gamers

    • +1

Much rather a TV flat against the wall

    • +3

The G-series is about the form factor, not just the specs.

    • +1

C5 us a typical WOLED, dull colours. G5 is a big leap towards WOLED closing the gap with QD.

  • -1

    No 75”deals

    • +6

      There’s never a 75” deal.

Next size available from 65” is 77”

  • How much better are the gen 5's compared to previous 3 and 4 series ? Any really notable upgrades ?

  • It says "Not available in conjunction with any other offer. T&Cs apply" on both deals. Might not stack. Doubt anyone will know for sure just yet so just be prepared if the claim does not go through for the ( Bigger Screen Bonus $400 Digital Visa Card on this TV via redemption(HB) )

Great spot though OP hopefully it stacks!

    • Should stack because both BONUS OFFER, BUNDLE DEAL is displayed on the top left corner of the of the TV ads.

  • How do you earn gift card of $400? Is this additional on top of 20% sound bar deal?

    • This one is better in picture quality than the link you provided. If you are not a in rush you can hold off for RGB mini led displays. Otherwise go oled or go home for a primary tv.

    • Only the 65" uses a VA panel, the rest are IPS. Avoid like plague.

      • -1

I questioned LG Support and they said the 75 inch version is a VA panel. How do you know it's only the 65 inch?

  • +1

LG's 4-Stack OLED is outstanding. Despite some early teething problems, this is a truly remarkable panel and well worth the money.

  • Fk me. I have a LG OLED.

I reckon I’d avoid this TV only because they market it with AI.

    AI kettles soon?

    • Is the AI no good?

    • +1

They all market with AI.. getting ridiculous..

Samsung - S95F 4K Samsung Vision AI Smart TV
Our most advanced AI powered 4K processor
      NQ4 AI Gen3 Processor
Powered by 128 AI neural networks, this AI processor enhances your picture and sound to superb heights.

Sony - Crystal clear pictures. With AI technology.
Unmatched realism with XR Processor™ and AI technology
Crystal clear voice. With AI technology.

      • However came up the marketing term AI mainly for machine learning really earned their bonus that year.

      • So its more of a gimmick? Like back in the days when they used to market 3D TVs with the glasses lol

        • +1

Not so much a gimmick, more so an exaggeration of certain computational features, ie a bunch of logic to analyse either picture or sound and then apply adjustments in real time.
They market as "AI", it's not really learning and making decisions on its own, it's more like "IF this THEN that" but in detail.

      • +1

Can't wait to get my toaster and kettle with AI.

  • In case anyone was looking to compare prices for Lg c5 83”:
Lg c5 oled 83” $4282.70 delivered after using 4% gift cards from Harvey Norman a few weeks ago

    • And can you get that price today?

    • I used that deal, went to JB, got them to price match then used their 15% JB HIFI Perks on top + 5% off Gift Cards, ended up getting 83" LG C5 OLED for $3500 delivered

      • Where did you get the JB perks? Or are you talking about a previous purchase?

        • purchased last week. they were running a promo of buy a Samsung, Sony, LG TV and get 15% off perks. Basically sign up to a JB hifi Perks account using a new email and you get a perks voucher that is valid for 24hours. thats what I used. not sure they are running it right now but my TV got delivered the other day. $3500 for C5 OLED 83", i'm very happy!

      • How did you manage to get that extra 15% off JB HIFI Perks on top, if you don't mind me asking?!
I signed up for perks a while ago but the last code I got was on the 17th last month and last time I tried it said it has expired. Or did you ask for a new one on the spot or something?! I'm interested on that exact same deal! (minus the Gift Cards) :D

      • That was an insane deal and def earned yourself an ozb badge haha. Slightly jealous haha. Others tried the same and failed. Think only a few individuals managed to get this done at jb

        • Ouch, that hurts, paid around $6.5k for my LG 83" a few years ago.

  • Thank you. LG gave me a $4500 Good Guys credit because my 4.5 year old 65" G1 has dead pixels.

    Got a 77" G5 and the $250 sound bar and paid $900.

They said I could claim the $700 card too but that's yet to be seen.

    • Wow, nice one!

    • +1

This customer service retention is on point, well done LG

Better that what I am going through with Sony….

      • What is your issue with Sony if you do not mind me asking?

        • its a panel issue on rare occasions

      • -1

Yeah, wasn't a terrible experience. They did try to replace the panel first but the replacement had dead pixels and they had no more suitable panels in stock.

They gave me the same amount as what I purchased it for and this deal just happen to be on at the same time. Lucky timing, really.

    • What assurance did they provide that the card is claimable alongside the bundle discount? Just curious, as it wouldn't be the first time a salesperson has lied through their teeth!

      • +1

        None.

      • +1

Someone in this thread confirmed they claimed the gift card after buying with a bundled deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/926803

"My claim went through instantly and I have the $500 GC sitting in my google wallet, if that helps."

    • I wish i had edu access…

      • He should have waited. It is cheaper this week on the corporate employee LG websites

        • Doesn't help the other people without the access…

Any idea what the G5 in a 65 inch would cost?

  • My TV got delivered today, but not the soundbar. When I check my order details, the soundbar is not listed; only the TV is shown.

I'm fairly certain I added the soundbar to my order, as I received the 20% discount. Does anyone have the same issue?
