    Massive selection of colours too

  • +10

    yeah nah $12 at kmart

    • Does it atleast feel the same ?

      • +2

feels the same but i forfeit my flexing rights

as someone who “bragsalot” i can see why you would want to pay a premium

        • brag about how I saved money.. so woulda gone for the Kmart ones. But no flex, will wait till boxing on the crocs…

      • +9

no the kmart ones hurt my toes, the shape isn't as comfortable and the foam quality is lower, not as densely constructed. but do they do the job as sandals to the pool or beach, it is cheap, would defs break sooner. If you are on a budget I recommend the platform slippers at kmart instead, the quality is better, the foam is alot more dense

      • +22

I've had both. The KMart ones are noticeably shit and after trying to put up with them for a while, the foam is bloody uncomfortable. They got tossed. Waste of $12.

FWIW I think Crocs look terrible, but I'll use them around the house to do gardening or garbage runs. Nobody sees me in them, and I carefully avoid parts of the house where I could see myself in a mirror.

        • +2

had both as well. kmart ones were uncomfortable and broke in 2 weeks. Have real crocs and they are so much more comfortable and durable… and are usually on sale on Amazon for $30-40 in various styles and colors

          • @imbrad: My kids wear Crocs. They just never break, they can get passed down through at least three stages of kid.

    • +6

Foam quality is not the same. The kmart, rivers etc ones don't last

      • +1

        Can vouch for this.

        • +1

I've been wearing my kmart ones for 2 years so far. Don't jog in them though.

          • @bardlee: They're not built for kids that's for sure. Maybe indoor adult use is fine

    • +1

Unfortunately they are not the same… I mow my lawn in my crocs (got them for $20 so can’t complain) tried buying some Kmart ones and they feel junk in comparison.

  • +27

$42.50 each for a pair of crocs isn't a very good deal.

    • +3

Certainty better than inflated RRP if someone's buying rn.

Amazon comes through with these at $25-30.

Currently have a pink pair for $30.

      This timeline upsets me.

      • +1

It is weird that crocs became cool with teenagers. I never would have predicted it.

    • +1

That's fair in that sometimes small numbers or odd sizes or colours are sometimes cheaper but I think this is a pretty good deal for stock of all sizes and colours

    What’s the fascination with Crocs?

I really want to know, they are the ugliest shoes I can imagine. They don’t even look comfortable because they are loose and your foot would flop about in them.

I don’t get it, how do they sell even one pair?

    • How IS the fit in crocs when you get sized right?

    • +8

I reckon most people who say that haven't actually worn them. They're bloody comfy!

    • +6

I think they are the ugliest thing ever too, BUT, i also have a pair. I use them only indoors, very useful to put them on quickly and move around the house when the floor is cold or wet, they are easy to clean, comfortable, durable plastic, etc. It's like having some good slippers (you can use them with socks to keep your feet warm), as all the other actual indoor slippers i had ended up breaking appart after a few weeks.

They are also work great as a contraceptive if you wear them in public, with shorts and knee-high socks, kinda like this

    • They designed stupid looking shoes for the movie Idiocracy. They were Crocs

      • +7

They were used in Idiocracy because they where the stupidest looking off the shelf shoes the costume designers could find to fit into the movie. They were not designed for the movie.

    • They are just shoes. Anyone that wearing one isn't trying to make a fashion statement

I wear them all the time outdoor now the weather is warm and they are very comfortable..

      • You might not be trying to make a fashion statement, but you still are making a fashion statement ;)

    • I assume they're for people that don't realize cork sandals exist.

      • They're for people that don't realise eyes exist.

    • +2

They're like a sports version of thongs. You can do yard work, go fishing, etc. without stubbed toes or blowouts

    • +1

I used to just buy random slippers from big W for like $12-15
random slides from adidas before etc

they all got super uncomfortable or worn out real quick so I decided to try crocs as well, while they're not the 'cloud like' slides or shoes people make them out to be, they're definitely much more durable than buying a bunch of el cheapo slides.

over a year on and using em out and about for random grocery runs, walks around, they're still just as 'comfortable' as when I got em new.

Whereas other cloud slides I got, it got super dense and compressed after a few months and they crack/break apart where you normally bend em as you step.

I'll only ever buy crocs when they're on sale ($40 or less).

  • How's the comfort in these?

Take your classic example, a nurse up-and-down wards putting in 10-15k steps over a shift.

Will you find better comfort in a quality running shoe particularly one with a high stack / cushioning (e.g. Hoka Bondi, Saucony Triumph), or can Crocs do the same?

    • +1

I use the crocs catering pro ones at the hospital, many colleagues do the same

      • TIL there are different models of crocs!

        These, I'm guessing. Named Bistro?

I like the idea of a closed top/toe croc in workplaces, that would cause less potential issues with safety standards.

        • Another aspect might be like certain models of Blundstone etc. Where they have acid-resistant sole. Stops grease, fat, alcohol etc. rotting the bottom of your boots

        • Bistro Pro Literide sorry

  • not rly a true deal tbh, seen cheaper

Aliexpress direct from factory for $30 is far better

If anyone is interested, $25 in Kogan if you have Kogan First. When I need it, I just start a trial and immediately cancel after getting the item.

    • +1

Is Kogan First trial once only, do you create multiple accounts to get it on repeat?

      • yes i'd like to know as well too lol

      • +1

I used Kogan First trial on the same account 4 times. After some time it allows starting the trial again.

  • Any sock deals going to match with this?
The longer and stripier the better.

  • The off road clogs I got for around 10 bucks during Covid was a bargain ., these classic versions are nowhere near as comfortable or long lasting

  • +3

    $85…. on special… C'mon Mannnnn

    • +1

      C'mon Mannnnn

read that in a Matthew McConaughey voice

I used to be a Croc hater too, but I have 2 pairs now and wear them out all the time (shops, errands, gardening)

Travelled with them overseas recently and they are the best, didn't even wear my runners once during the 2 week trip in Vietnam. Wife wanted to get a pair whilst there, and the prices for real Crocs in Vietnam was $90 AUD!

  • Agree that the premium price is worth it in the long run. The Kmart ones are good for throwaways or outside yard work. But the don’t last as long, they get holes and rub too quickly. Love my real crocs for more walking to McDonald’s or going to friends houses.

  • +3

    I'm a recent convert.

Ugly af, but I think they are comfortable and convenient around the house.

I only wear them with socks. I don't like them without.

Tbh if you dislike them - nothing people say will convince you. Try them on in a store. Even the models size different

    • +1

      Crocs with socks you say?

      croxwithsox

      fashun

      • +1

i dont like the idea of plastic/rubber touching my toenails. Its just a feeling i dont like.

  • How to get 2 Pairs for $85? When I add 2 pairs it says $111.98.
