    $10 spend

    • Yep, bought the $10 7 eleven card for fuel.

Edit: It doesn't get accepted by Google Wallet after activation somehow. What?!

  • +57

Coles GC has 3% cashback at the moment with $10 denominations available.

If you want Amazon, buy a $10 Home Swap with 2.25% cashback (extra 1% with Westpac) instead of Amazon directly (1.5% cashback).

    More details see here.

    • +1

I specifically held off buying any Coles GC after posting that deal because this seems to happen every time I post a deal now. 😂

      • +1

The 2% bonus is for shopping at Amazon. Not for buying the Amazon gift cards.

    • +9

Buying Coles GC is always a bit annoying because you cannot store it like Prezzee or put it on your Amazon balance. As a Woollies shopper, I tend to forget my Coles GC's.

      • +1

I use this on android. You'll need to refresh the gift card amount after use, but it opens the link and prepopulates card details for you. So you only need to do captcha.

        Coles Gift Card Balance

        • Thanks, but I only have Apple.

        • +3

          I use this on android

I’d be very cautious about using these third-party apps.

From the screenshots on the app store, it looks like they require you to enter both your card number and PIN for each gift card - which poses a serious security risk. With that information, the developers could easily drain your balance. The risk is very real.

Unless you have option of not storing your pin?

          • +2

@Lucille Bluth: Yes, the developer even posted here a while back saying they had removed the need to store pin in reply to someone like you correctly pointing out the risk. If you don't store the pin in the app then you will need to save it in your notebook/brain or somewhere as you still have to type it in at the Coles checkout.

          • @Lucille Bluth:

the developers could easily drain your balance

I have thought of that, but I've been using it for a few years and never had any missing balance.

      • +3

Take a photo of the coles giftcard & date it 2028 so always shows on top of Gallery. That way its handy to scan on checkout.
At least at Coles (unlike Woolies), it tells you when balance is too low so you can use remaining balance and pay remainder using whatever. Woolies, one has to call attendant to reset payment method and it doesnt show existing balance unless using their app.

        • Just use ShopBacks gift card system, it auto updates the amounts when you access them.

        • -1

Yet another reason why Coles is better than Woolies

      • +3

Coles are rolling out Coles Pay (currently only in Victoria I believe) that works a lot like the old Everyday Pay. You can add up to five gift cards to your Coles Pay wallet and it tracks the balances, although annoyingly it only lets you redeem one gift card at a time if you pay via QR code.

      • And you can't use for Coles online shopping

    • +2

If you want Amazon, buy a $10 Home Swap with 2.25% cashback (extra 1% with Westpac) instead of Amazon directly (1.5% cashback).

so like 10c extra for a $10 spend?

    • +1

Seems like ShopBack is winning back customers: 245 upvote from this deal & 49 upvotes from this Jul-25 comment, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16692192/redir

      • It’s a dice roll. Sometimes the downvote brigade blows through.

        • All I can control is the accuracy of my comments base on observations….can't control downvote.

I've been following their cashback of monthly mobile sim-cards offers since Jan-24 & aware that ShopBack had the most negative comments, hence cautious & watching this space. I've ignored their recent profit deals.

These gift-cards are likely low risk since they are purchased within ShopBack-system & hence tracking should be easier comparing to sim-cards purchase via store-sites eg Boost mobile. CashRewards approved gift-cards within 24 hrs & so was my ShopBack purchase of their gift-card on 20-Sep-25.

    • Does Home Swap still include eBay as well as Amazon?

      • +1

Yes. Just checked as I haven't swapped yet. eBay and Amazon are both included.

        • Noticed the Home Swap card is now a different colour (grey) and swapping for Amazon is no longer stated in the description. Can anyone confirm if this new card can still be swapped for Amazon?

      • +1

Yep, see here. If you don't have westpac for 1% extra on the 2.25% home swap, you can get tech swap for 2.5% instead.

        • Yeah do have Westpac, so then it would be 3.25% back. Having the option for Ebay and Amazon on the one card would be great if it works

Loving all the GC deals recently.

  • +2

First four comments speak useful information and reminders 🥲🤌🎵

  • noob question, can I use my sb+ monthly $5 coupon and be eligible for this?

    • I haven’t found anything in the T&Cs that would make it ineligible.

    • Mixed results in the past if the $5 is inclusive of the target spend; the coupon doesn't always seem to count towards it.

Safest to buy, say, $15 worth of GC if using the coupon.

    • +1

@spoddar01 Unfortunately it doesn't work. I tried a few times already. It used to be eligible a while ago.

You would need to buy a $15 gift card if you want to apply the $5 SB Plus voucher.

    • Didn't work for me but worked on my wife's account

  • -1

would you be able to buy multiple giftcards of $10 each to circumvent the $5 cap?

    • No.

Rewards limited to the first 1 eligible Gift card(s) made

    • Users participating in the program can earn multiple rewards for each qualifying transaction.

I think you can but capped at $5 in total. No point buying more.

    • +1

Definitely capped at 5$ total. Else they will have to shutdown company tonight.

  • +7

Its should really just say $5 cashback, not 50% off, when the max you can get is only $5.

    • +15

ShopBack is all about the sizzle, not the steak.

    • +2

It's very obvious to me they are trying different wording/approaches to their bonuses. "50% off" sounds way better than "$5 bonus" and I am 100% certain a lot of SB customers will buy $50/$100+ gift cards in the misunderstanding they'll be getting 50% cashback. People don't read the fine print.

      • The devil is always in the details.
ShopBack marketing is mis-leading & intentional-> '"50% off" sounds way better than "$5 bonus"'
There're always interpretations involve: maybe people should be cautious, read your comments(& others) & give considerations, see links below. Some already failed & commented here.

Do not buy the gift cards with available cashback if you have! Otherwise you will only get the 50% cashback the total minus the available cash back you used.

E.g. Buy $10 and use $5 available cashback. You only get 50% of $5. I made this mistake last time. Never again.

    • +2

interesting I never had issues with using par cash balance to pay for GC and getting these bonuses in full. Is this new in T&C?

      • +1

just don't use partial payment. i've paid in full with my balance before and had no issues. people seem to have issues when they use part of their balance and pay the remainder with some other method

        • Yeah, I just bought a $10 gift card using $10 available cashback and got the full $5

    • This is not correct based on my experience - for the last year, I've never had issues getting bonuses using available Cashback (like 5 on 50 spends etc) I will try + report back if it tracks.

Eg - This recent and similar style 100% bonus CB deal I successfully got the bonus, paying entirely with my CB balance.

But, it does impact any extra Westpac bonus cashback - eg, if you partially payed $10 using a WP card, that's the only value that gets the bonus %.

I've actually seen a bunch of comments about this the last month:
+ GYB says it fine: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16973241/redir
+ Using the $5 SB Plus discount doesn't count towards the required spend value - so you would need to add $5 more to your GC value

      • Can confirm, it's tracked 50% off paid money from linked payment method.

        • Thats quick, I've only gotten the standard CB tracked so far, will wait and update

        • $5 from 50% bonus tracked, payed entirely with CB balance. @Bang1 @ironworthy It works :)

          • @OutOfTime: Lol….I had paid partly with CB balance and other with linked CC. I will log a ticket, we have found bug in system I reckon.

            • @s0805: Same thing happened with me

            • @s0805: Did you join the challenge before paying? Maybe give it a moment - your bank card might be causing a delay from a pending payment, the bonuses often take a while longer to appear as well.

I have received bonuses using a mix of payment methods as well.
              Hope it works out soon!

        • I think that is a bug because I got the opposite! Purchased $10 7eleven, used $6 I had in my account and paid $4 with my credit card. Got $6 tracked, $3 back.

          • @mauza: does look like weird bug….I will await until deal closed and lodge a claim in case, it catches up…..

    • +1

Alas I used available cash back to pay for a $10 home swap, paying $3.75 extra on top, and only got $3.13. Never had this issue before.

    • Thanks for your comment. This helped, used full amount from card.

      • how much did you buy? and how much you get in total?

        • $10 Amazon Gift card. Understand Coles has a 3% cash back etc, but for $10, that 3% is very small.

          • @John Doh: so hold on, 500+ votes for only 30c? really?

            • @RTX9090Ti: $5 cashback from 50% and 0.15 from Amazon giftcard 1.5% cashback.

    • Oh ffs, this shite again. It’s not in the T&Cs so why has it happened again? Yet another glitch that will be ignored by @gotyourback and another email sent to Shopback - on my time - to fix it.
      It’s $5, just pay it.
      Really unimpressed.

  • +2

$0.91 transferred from my debit account.

$1.54 transferred from my debit visa 'foreign tx free' card. (nab card… about to be nerfed… because it was migrated from the citibank, foreign tx free, visa debit card, and nab are tards…)

So. $11.29 is now available on my credit card.

    :D

    I am ready.

My ozbargain licence is renewed. :)

same - paid and debited but no card showing up

  • +2

Just bought a $10 Coles giftcard but it is not appearing in the giftcards section of the app.

    • Took 3mins for mine to show. Normally it's instant.

      • Thanks. Just got it now.

  • +1

Oof SB is chugging. Took 3 mins for my purchase to show up among my gift cards let alone tracking.

  • finally, the card appears!

          • @John Kimble: Thanks, Joined the challenge which took me to the page, purchased gift card. Now stuck at processing payment page but got email confirmation. Seems like site is overloaded.

  • Paid, gift card is shown as pending and not yet tracked. Must be a lot of simultaneous purchases cause of this deal 🤣

  • Unexpected error occurred… waiting…

Edit. Gift card good after 5 minutes or so, base CB tracked, bonus not as yet…

  • Bought $10 Coles gift card. $5 has tracked with 30c. Thanks OP.

    • @bonezAU Thanks so much :)

    Tracked and received bonus.

  • Don't see any mention of this deal on Shopback's website - am I blind?

    lol!…

    ….. It worked I think… (maybe), lol.

NOTE : I'm on windows desktop, running bluestacks android emulator, and ofc chrome in win 10.

'Failed'… Three times at 4pm (attempts are within 1 min of 4pm btw)…

Once from bluestacks install of shopback (1st try). Twice from normal pc chrome website purchase.

cc still charged $10. (not sure which one worked, lol)

Then, I got a desktop notification of challenge completed…

Then, I got a desktop notification of cashback…

    lolcats :D
