Saucony Endorphin Pro 4: Carbon-Plated Racing Shoe will help you Break Your Personal Bests.
This is a road racing shoe designed for a 10K, a marathon, or pushing the limits in a long-distance race. Great rearfoot stability

The Carbon-Fiber Plate gives you the extra boost you need to maintain speed with minimal effort. It works in harmony with the midsole to compress and expand faster. The carbon plate’s stiffness and flexibility provide a fast push-off allowing maximum reactivity. This returns more energy with every step, giving you the extra boost you need to maintain speed with minimal effort.

Midsole of Endorphin Pro 4 is PWRRUN HG foam, Sauconys most responsive midsole material. This foam, paired with the lightweight PWRRUN PB, delivers a level of energy return that allows you to run faster and longer, whether you’re racing on flat roads or tackling rolling terrain.

The shoe has an advanced underfoot geometry, SPEEDROLL which creates a forward-rolling sensation with every step.

    Before anyone asks

    1. no this is not a walking shoe. At all. It is not a gym shoe.

    2. no you dont need a carbon plated super shoe if you need to ask the question

    3. but if you wanted to get one and needed to ask the question, this is arguably the one to get as its more 'beginner / slow runner' friendly than most of the rest and is quite comfortable (if you dont need to ask the question, then you already know if this will suit you or not)

    4. its a fairly wide shoe but it wont suit 2E feet. May be too wide for the talon footed.

    5. if you are a light person (55kg? or under) then carbon plates might not work for you

    6. this is a pretty good price. there is a Pro 5 so its a run out model, but that doesnt make the Pro 4 a bad shoe.

    7. yes, you can get cheaper shoes if you dont want to spend $200 on a running shoe.

    8. not sure I would get this as my only running shoe, but if you already have one or two others in your rotation that arent full plated then it could be a good addition

    • If one's considered a light person (below 55kg for a height of 1.66m+), with narrow feet, what beginner running shoes would you recommend?

        puma velocity nitro 4

      • Puma Velocity Nitro 4

      • +1

Puma Velocity Nitro 3 or Adidas Adizero SL2 or New Balance Rebel v4

        • Or old stock deviate nitros from puma outlets. Those are damn fine shoes to run in and can be seriously cheap.

      • Make sure you try the shoes on. Shoes have different widths, toe boxes, heels and all sorts of things that become a big issue when you are running.

the other have suggested good choices; you can also try the Novablast (which is sort of wide though) or (if you have a lot of spare cash) the megablast. Salomon aero glide I think would be a good choice if you can find them

These are all / mostly shoes at the top of the line. You can certainly run in cheaper shoes or get a run out - nike pegasus 41 is in run out and can find them for under $150. Mizuno wave rider 28 same. Quite a few on sale at Athletes Foot at the moment

        • waiting for a sale on Novablast 5 or Mizuno Neo Vista

          • @ltwo: The Athlete's foot have some Novablast 5 and Neo Vista on sale at the moment (limited sizes/colours though)

    • Challenge excepted ! Bought for my regular 0.2 km treadmill walk a week .. at the gym ! Muhahahah

      • I’m sure there are people who do this. All the gear.

After all, it’s well known that the reason I’m not a success in multiple sports is that I don’t have top of the line and expensive equipment

  • Inb4 Sauconys nuts

  • Only select sizes? I was going to get a pair, but size 13 is still $350.

    • sorry we will fix that.. all are in

      • Reduced thanks for note!

  • I ran Melbourne Marathon in these last weekend and they were very comfy, though didn't stop my legs from being trashed three days after 🤣

  • A lot of kids are now wearing carbon plated shoes which is ridiculous, unnecessary and not great for their muscle development.

  • Hey OP. Do you just not stock sizes under 8.5 coz they're not very popular? Or do they just all disappear first?

    • +2

We occasionaly have them but not many… Mostly dont stock due to lack of customer demand…. sorry,

      • I understand that. No worries. It's quite a common thing, unfortunately for me.

  • Endorphin speed vs these ? Can anyone help with comparison. Thanks

    • Race shoe (Pro) vs Tempo shoe (Speed)

      • I have Kayano at the moment, was thinking to switch to endorphin speed 5. I am slow runner and usually run 4 to 5 kms 3 x times a week @ 6 mins/km.

        • If you're a slow runner then you're better off going for daily trainers (i.e. not speed nor tempo shoes). The Kayano's in particular are good stability shoes (if you overpronate) but they're terrible for energy return. I have a pair and hate to run in them.

          • @ltwo: Which one would you suggest ?

            • @osmanumar: really depends on your body type and how you run. are you flat footed? on the heavier side?

              • @ltwo: Not flat footed, yes heavier side.

                • +1

@osmanumar: any of Nimbus 27, Novablast 5, Triumph 23, Tarkine Autopilot

                • @osmanumar: the Ghost Max 2 that's a deal today
