Sign up end of nov for maximum value

    • That is my plan.

    • Oh right because you only need to stay to 31st December to get all the bonus.

    • +1

Do they do partial refund/pro-rata if you cancel between pay cycles? Otherwise one would still need to stay with them for 2 pay cycles?

For EDR points, said must stay 30 days, but TC said points get loaded around 45 days and internet account must still be active? So it seems mist still stay at least 45 days from signup.

      • Do they do partial refund/pro-rata if you cancel between pay cycles?

        yes

    • +1

yes - 30/11 and delay connection 28 days

      • what do u mean delay connection

      • Great. Need to be with superloop till at least 25/12 for my $95 TCB cash back so will do this.

    • no opticomm support.
      and not 1000/100 plans.

  • +1

What happens if you have an existing membership with prime? does it extend it?

    • +1

      probably not?

      • +3

I currently have a Prime membership. Am I eligible for this offer?

Yes. If you already have a Prime membership and redeem this offer with Origin, your direct membership will pause. Cancelling your Origin subscription will reactivate your original account.

        • To clarify pause only works on monthly sub? I pay annually so I'm paid until May, what happens in this case?

  • +2

Eh don't know if it's worth it for me, on fixed wireless $69.95 a month with leaptel ATM , $105 with origin, will lose that if in switch just got the points and credit though

  • +3

    too expensive for 500M/50M

    • 3 months for about $200 if u include the credit, about $66 a month (which is pretty much the cheapest for 500 anyways with promos) + the 25k points not bad

      • Amaysim doing $40/mth for first 2 months, not lock-in period

        • +2

plus $100 visa card if signup via finder

          • +1

@HappilyEverAfter: its only available if you stay for 75 days. ie. need to pay atleast 3 months

            • +1

@jsb: Yes I saw that in the T&C.

              So for amaysim it is $40 * 2 + $80 = $160, or $160 - $100 = $60 if counting visa card for 3 months. Not bad at all.

This deal may be better if you don't need to stay for 3 months. e.g.
If you need to pay 3 months, then it is a tad worse according to calculation here.

    • -2

In general NBN price have gone up due to this whatever fee upgrade from 100/20 to 500/50 it's BS

  • +9

    T&Cs also say:

"If you cancel your Origin nbn® or Opticomm fibre plan during your 12-month Prime membership Offer, you will lose access to Prime at the end of your current membership month."

so just worth it for the EDR points then?

    • Wonder if anyone have this plan and can comment ig they actually cancel it

    • +4

      Basically.

      • Sign up sometime in November for 500/50 or 1000/100
      • Credit hit Jan 1st for $100
      • Use that to pay bill in Jan then cancel after that

Total cost is about $200 for 3 months of internet (which is decent), 3 months free prime and 25K EDR points. I'm just going to transfer them to Qantas points, so it's an easy 12,500 points that way.

  • +3

Need to sign up by 30 Nov. can you schedule the activation date to Dec or it needs to be activated by 30 Nov

    • +1

Would love to know this also

    • Anyone been able to confirm if can sign up by 30 nov and select activation date in December and still be eligible for $100 credit and EDR points?

  • +1

So basically 1 months free nbn + $2.5k EDR plus 2 months free Amazon Prime for stay 2months with them?

    e.g.

pay $97 per month to cover your bill from 30/11 to 29/12

You will get $100 credit for stay until 31/12/25 this can cover 30/12 to 29/1 bill (free month).

You will also get 2.5k EDR worth $125 as well as 2 months free Amazon Prime?

    • It is post pay or prepaid? If postpay, Would the credit show up in account after 31/12 which you can use to pay the previous month?

Just wondering as my Origin electric bill is not usually due right away.

      • Good question . not sure about this.

      • No you have pay straight away to get connected. The second bill comes after 1 month but you have a few weeks to pay that off.

        • @Water Bearer ok so it's pre-paid? or just that you have to pay the first month to get connected?

          • @yoquierotaco: No not prepaid only first month you pay before. Next bills are paid like other utilities, because its Origin.

  • +1

about $45 dollar profit if you already pay for prime with 2 free months of internet. Not bad.

  • +1

Worth it for the sign-up bonuses I guess but the actual prices for the speeds are poor.

  • +1

pretty good deal, would jump on it but already got a pretty good plan (500-$50 a month).

    • Who's your provider?

    • Keen to know about your plan?

    • Care to share how you got this plan?

      • Provider is More, $50a month after $50 CBA discount for 3 years (targeted though)

  • Can you schedule a connection day with Origin? I'm still in the 30 days notice with Superloop

    • Yes, you can pick a future date.

    • Superloop legally cannot ask for 30 days notice FYI - If you're not using their service that is.
So if you churn they cannot keep billing you for a service that they cannot provide.

  • These are absolutely terrible prices for Opticomm.

  • What is a "moving" customer? I'm currently with them if I call up and say I'm moving to someone else do I get this? Their service was so far good. Didn't have any issues for 6 months…

    • yes, at your new address

  • We can only schedule the connection date up to 30 days from today. Is it possible to reschedule after signing up. For example, a few days later to start the service on November 30?

  • On Superloop 1st 6mths so $80/mth w/ static IP.
This would mean I'd need to find 2 other providers other than SL, to get 6mth discounts
Seems like not really worth it?

    • Superloop also has 30 day cancellation notice so need to time your exit with billing dates :(

  • +2

can we get out of cgnat with origin?

  • NBN connection fee… In the middle of Brisbane…

  • +2

    Jesus $129!! A month for 1gb I'm paying $89 with Superloop

    • This during promo right? (Superloop)

      • Yeah sorry its goes to $100 after promotion i believe

      • +1

You are right. Lil correction, it’s 22.01$ Per month. Btw, I have unpublished my comment as it may confuse people.

  • +1

What is considered new and moving customer?

I was with origin internet until earlier in the year and cancelled. Will i still get the bonuses if I sign up?

    • +1
      • new = no existing Origin Internet service

      • moving = moving existing Origin Internet service to new address without existing Origin Internet service of same customer

    • +2

Everyday rewards bonus is only eligible every 10 months. So if your previous deal had an everyday rewards bonus this year. You probably wont be able to get this one included.

      • +1

        Thanks. Appreciate that!

  • +1

Might sign up to this. My 12 month discount with superloop is ending soon so will run with this for a few months and then see what other offers are available.

  • Origin Internet is soooo expensive. plus they dont offer a free modem (or free return when you cancel)

    • they dont offer a free modem

      $0 upfront modem offers

Stay with Origin internet for 24 months and get the Amazon eero 6+ or TP-Link for $0 (not including upfront $20 delivery fee).

If you cancel your service before 24 months, you are required to pay $6 (incl GST) for the Amazon eero6+ or $7 (incl GST) for the TP-Link for every month still remaining as a lump sum.

      T&Cs apply.

  • $5 for a static ip to opt out of cgnat

  • Expensive for what you're getting vs competitor.

    • +1

You obviously didn't read what the deal has.

      $125 worth of woolworths rewards.
      Free Prime Membership
      $100 bill credit

      100/20 = $97p/m
      Stay for 2 months = $194

Do you not see that if you shop at woolies you are actually getting this plan for free plus even more bonuses and credit on top of that.

      • -5

To my understanding, 1st month pay $97 & get nothing, 2nd month pay $97 get $100 credit, 3rd month pay $97 get 25k edr (after 45 days), so no profit but $22 per month for 3 months of 100 nbn plus 3 months of prime

  • Superloop being their service provider, I am guessing there could be a way out of CGNAT with dynamic IP without any extra monthly payment?

  • I'm interested in this plan, but as I already have gas with them, would I still be considered as "new customer" for origin internet?
"New and moving customers only. Offer ends 30/11/2025. Stay until 31/12/2025 to get your bill credit, and keep your plan active for 30 days to earn Everyday Rewards points. T&Cs apply^+"…

    • yes - origin internet is different to origin energy :)

      New/Moving Customers: 1yr Amazon Prime with 100/20+ | 25k EDR after 30 Days | Stay until 31/12 for $100 Credit @ Origin Internet

    • Yes, not only will you be still considered "new customer" to Origin Internet who will enjoy all the extra perks (free Prime membership, $100 credit, EDR points, etc), but they will offer a better bundle pricing for you as you are already with their other services: "Get $10 off internet every month when you also have electricity, natural gas, hot water, or LPG with us." We signed up two days ago at the bundle pricing and already got the Prime membership

  • To my understanding, 1st month pay $97 & get nothing, 2nd month pay $97 get $100 credit, 3rd month pay $97 get 25k edr (after 45 days), so no profit but $22 per month for 3 months of 100 nbn plus 3 months of prime

    • Sign up end of nov and future date for end of dec? Get credit 1st Jan? Free partial month?, move out end of Jan.

      • Edr after 45 days

        • Then all you pay is 1 month

        • Actually no, 45 days from sign up, not activation. Still stands, essentially free

          • @cuy: Sign up is nothing, you're a customer when your plan gets active

            • @Rookie1: Yeh cool, no need to sign up then, move along.

FYI, Ive sign up yesterday for the end of nov and already got my prime membership.

Im banking on 45 days from signup for EDR

              • @cuy: Did your prime membership come via a promo code or a URL to sign-up? I just got the promo code, and Amazon won't accept it in the Prime payment page.

                • @mackiam: Email with a link.

Subject: Activating your Prime membership, <NAME>

                  • @cuy: After chasing Origin up, I received a second email with a URL that did work. The first, which just had the code, didn't work. Annoying implementation of the promo.

            • @Rookie1: I can confirm the 45 days are from the sign up not the activation, last year I signed up with them in a similar deal, delayed the connection by 30 days to align with my current (at the time) plan's billing cycle and got the points around 15 days after activation, then jumped off. So only payed the first month.

        • Ive got everyday rewards bonuses after 25 days and 29 days - From previous Origin deals. So two months is very plausible before leaving and getting this plan with a profit.

  • 30th nov to 30 dec one month, you're not getting $100 credit as you should be active on 31st, you to be able to get the credit you hsve to pay for the 2nd month as well

    • sign up 30/11 and delay connection by 28 days

      • Sign up doesn't mean anything, you're a customer when your plan activates

        • sign up on 30/11 to connect/activate 30 days later, which is 30/12, then stay until 31/12 for $100 bill credit

EDR points eligible after 30 days active, credited 45 days after signup

  • -2

Thay have very carefully planned all the dates, they are a business, they won't give us any profit

  • +1

How does this work? I always believed there is no free lunch.

Let's say I switch to Origin Internet by Nov 29th 2025. Then I stay with them till Jan 29th 2025. Happy new Year.

    • I get $125 worth of Wollies Rewards dollars (Everyday Rewards points will be loaded onto your account approximately 45 days)
    • $100 bill credit applied (Applied on 2nd month?)
    • 100/20 internet is $97/month. So I pay that for $97*2 = $194 dollars in total

So I pay $194 - (125+100) = -$31. They pay me $31 to have 2 months of internet that I consume. How does that work? I must be missing something. I just need to stay for 2 months?

    • It's $107 per month unless you are origin energy customer as well

  • Sign up to the 25/10 plan for 79$ if you don't need higher speed, you still get 100$ bill credit + 125$ worth of Woolworths EDR points! Prime membership alone is only 9.99$ per month - so this may be the best deal (you can even pay for prime seperately if you use it).

    Cost: 2 months x 79$ per month = 158$
    Earning: 100$ bill credit + 125$ worth of EDR points = 225$

Total: 225$ - 158$ = 67$ for free! Plus two months of free internet at 25/10 speed.

    • +1

Also, I just switched to Origin Gas & Electricity with TopCashback through Compare the Market for 190$ Cashback + 180$ or something bill credit on Electricity and 180$ or something bill credit on Gas, it brought down the internet price about 30$! 10$for other service you have with them and 20 off for 6 months.

      Internet plan:
      Enthusiast Opticomm 100/20
      Internet - Enthusiast Opticomm 100/20
      $77/month (normally 107$)
Total min. charge $82 including one-off Opticomm connection fee of $5
      $20/month off for 6 months
      $10/month ongoing bundle discount
      25,000 Everyday Rewards points
Includes 12 months of Prime membership
Plus, a $100 bill credit applied for eligible customers

I don't know about the calculations, can't be bothered doing it all again, but with cashback plus bill relief and all that.. I think I am saving about 600$ or something. But so annoying to move providers!

  • +2

I'm a bit confused. This deal looks better than others have mentioned here.

For 500/40 on HFC at my address it comes up as $87/month. This includes $20/month off for 6 months. Then there is the $100 bill credit on 31/12/2025, 25,000 EDR points (worth $125) 45 days after sign up and prime membership ($9.99/month).

    Example scenario is:
    1. On 29th November I sign up and schedule activation for 15th December. The first month cost is $87.
    2. On 31st December, I receive $100 bill credit which can be applied to the second months bill so the second month (starting 15th January) will be free.
    3. On 13th January, I receive 25,000 EDR points ($125).
    4. On 13th February I transfer out of Origin to another provider leaving $13 credit in my account.

So for 2 months service, effectively a profit of $145 (includes prime membership for 2 months). What am I missing?

    • +1

      Yes,
I'm seeing $59/month for 25/10, $77 for 500/50, after $10 bundle discount (I have Origin for gas), and $20 into discount for first six months.
Plus $100 bill credit, and 25k ERR point (= $125) . And Prime for the faster plans.

      So 6 months 500/50 for 6x$77 - 100 -125 = $40/month and free Prime. That'll do! OK, plus $5/month for static IP. SOLD!!

Or really, 3 months for $6, $77/month for the next 3, then $97. Add $10/m if no bundle discount.
      $129 for 6 months of 25/10 .

    • +1

Just revisiting my post above. What I wrote before is wrong. Leaving after 2 month would result in a profit with credit left in account. Or stay for 3 months which is still a very good deal.

For 3 month 500/40 internet with Origin:
      Cost is $87 + $87 + $87 = $261
Credits = $100 (applied to 2nd month onwards)
      EDR + Prime benefits = $125 + $9.99 + $9.99 + $9.99 = $154.98

      If leaving after 3 months cost is effectively = $261 - $100 - $154.98 = $6.02

Also I have just moved to Origin for electricity so cost is $10/month cheaper. In this case there there is a profit = $23.98.

      Still an amazing deal.

      • +1

I value prime at $79/12 rather than $9.99/mth as I already pay for the full year.
