Elegoo has also kicked off their month long Black Friday sale with a few of their printers on sale.

FDM Printers
  • Centauri Carbon will be $629 on November 6. This is probably the wider deal that Australian stockists like Jaycar will be offering.
  • if you value the filament at $12-15 per kg, it's an additional $50 or so saving.
  • There's still no word on the filament changer for the CC
  • Neptune 4 Max is one of the larger printers with a print volume of 420 x 420 x 480.

  • If you want multi-colour or multi-material I would stay away from the CC, they released a CC2 in china with a 4 spool setup like the FF AD5x. No news on a MMU for CC, they promised it when CC was released but took that info off recently.

    • yeah, looks like a hybrid. Hopefully they can deliver for MMU for the CC 1 though.

  • In no world should the Centauri Carbon be more expensive than the P1S. They're comparable in specs, with the Carbon considered slightly worse, but Bambu is more reliable, and actually has an AMS unit. Meanwhile, Elegoo has removed all mentions of their promised multilateral system from their website, and annouced a Centauri Carbon 2, leaving most people to think the original Centauri Carbon has been abandoned.

For most people, please avoid this unless it drops below 500 or something and go get that P1S.
As for me, I'm never touching another Bambu Lab after they retroactively locked down their software. I'm currently waiting on the Qidi Q2 to drop down to ~600 because that has real upgrades over both the P1S and carbon like a heated chamber and large print bed, while also being fully open source.

    • If it wasn't for the recent P2S launch and price drops, it would still be competitive but the MMU drama is definitely causing a bit of a sour taste for many.

Q2 at around 600 would be a solid pickup, and their Qidi box is shipping out now too.

    • The CC specs are more like the P2S / X1C than the P1S. Features like touchscreen, hardened steel nozzle (and extruder gears), higher bed and nozzle temp, higher res camera, better lighting, etc

In no world should the CC have been so diferent in price between the US and here, this sale price really is what it should have cost everywhere at RRP. Yeah the Bambu printers have been overpriced for years, but it's competition from brands like Elegoo that have forced them down to these levels.

      • I feel like the pricing also has to do with securing Jaycar as a local dealer.

Must have some agreement not to undercut them.

  • I would go for FlashForge AD5x before this and P2S. Having experience with all 3 of them, FlashForge stands out. Orca-FlashForge not so much though :(

    • Ad5x is a good entry but the 220mm³ bed can be a little small.

Ideally add the enclosure kit too

      • To be honest, I rarely if ever find myself in a position to need 3.5cm more printing space.

        • Sure, just depends on what you print

  • There’s a au$50 off code (IMBF50) that works with the Centauri Carbon and 4kg filament for $652.99

I’ve also just discovered a new coupon finder called Gedd.It
Uses gpt/ai to trawl for coupon codes, then uses gpt/ai to punch in codes live and test if they work. Not foolproof but worked in this case. Add https://gedd.it/ in front of any url.

    For this it’d be https://gedd.it/https://au.elegoo.com/products/centauri-carb…

    • nice, updated the post
