Osprey Duro LT Running Vest $29.99 (RRP $99.95) + $9 Delivery ($0 C&C/ $99 Order) @ Paddy Pallin

530

Normally I use running belt, but I'm considering using running vest for long runs. I remember seeing this at $75 but today it has price dropped to $30.

How many vests will I need for my Parkrun?

    • +2

      Not enough.

    • What about for my Maccas nugg run?

      • +1

just as long as you can hit "I'm here" on the MyMaccas app

    Reminds me of Rock Lee

    Thanks, ordered one!

I use a Salomon Sense Pro 2 for road runs over 20km, don't need the back storage but the flasks in the front work really well for me. This will be a good backup as the Salomon is discontinued (and way more $$$ than this).

    • What's the rules for sizing on these things?

      • +2

I went to the osprey website to check the sizing chart, just a simple chest size measurement for this

        https://ospreyaustralia.com.au/pages/sizing-guide

        Duro LT, 6, 1.5 SMALL (30-35" / 75-90 CM.) MEDIUM (35-41" / 90-105 CM.) LARGE (41-47" / 105-120 CM.)— CHEST MEASUREMENT

  • No flasks included? The one on Wildfire has them, but this listing doesn't mention it

Can I fill all the storage with snacks for when I'm playing PS5?

    • +8

      Only compatible with xbox

    • Only if playing Death Stranding

Bought one of these from marketplace and could never get it to stay tight. Clasps just loosen off. Went into anaconda and tried a Salomon, night and day difference. Felt so much better fit, so waiting for Black Friday deals on those

    • +2

$30 is the right price for these, if not lower. No way are these worth $150 (in the wildfire I linked). Fake RRP at it again.

Not a bad price, however if anyone’s missed out and are still looking for something, maybe consider a belt.

Ive run a marathon with only a belt, stacked with my mobile, gels and water bottle. I also own a vest with bladder, however prefer belts over vests.

I used the vest once during a training session for a long run and although it was nice to use, I much preferred the upper body movement and avoidance of skin irritations.

A belt can add on some weight on your waist however it won’t materially impact anyone’s mobility or performance (imo). You can pick up cheap belts off Aliexpress for about $8

    • Any belts you suggest?

      • I have one of this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008016074220.html

        and one of this https://www.decathlon.com.au/p/hydration-flask-carrying-runn…

The decathlon is well made but not worth 6x the price of the AliExpress one.

      • Sure! Just search for Newboler running waist bag. Had a link to share but it thought it was referring/affiliated. Currently $13. Look it tends to sweat on me even though it says sweat wicking but I expect to sweat anyway as I’m running haha

        • Heaps of choices haha

Is it one of the thin ones or thick ones?

          • @park it: Worth looking at shorts with built in belt. I have a pair of adidas shorts that i can carry phone, gels and a 325ml water flask.

T8 make shorts with heaps of storage. I find it way more comfortable than a belt - doesn’t creep up or fall down.

          • @park it: Look pretty thin tbh, also like the idea of built in belts into your shorts, however the one thing that the belt does well is stay on tight and can be adjusted. Its got a long velcro area which i adjust sometimes on my longer runs, for example I loosen when my gels and water are full, then i tighten as I deplete. Shorts may be a bit trickier to tighten around your waist

  • Do I need to wear something else under?

    • +1

Well yeah, you'll definitely need a running vest to flee the scene if you're not wearing anything else.

    • +2

Your nipples will demand that you do

    • +1

if you are hairy, you can go without, as the hair will act as cushion against the fabric. Just take care when you clip in, and they can rip off your nipple if done w(r)o(n)g.

    • Bruh I've seen mfs run with just these on and nothing underneath. Must be some kind of fetish or mogging

  • -2

These are solid vests however, there is a reason everyone uses Salomon's and they cost so much.

    • +6

      And… That reason is..?

    • +1

Yes.. I have the Osprey Duro LT and it really only gets used for walking as it bounces all over the place when running, sizing just feels off and there isn’t enough adjustment. Salomon fit perfectly with no bounce.

  • you guys got any idea for a vest that i could put weights in?

  • Just eat more food or drink water if you want to run with more weight bro.
