90

Possibly targeted, let me know how you go.

I took advantage of this deal a while back: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/904998
Just now when I went to cancel via Apple, I was given a retainment special deal of 69c a month for another 12 months. I really enjoy playing these games so pretty happy with the deal!

Then you forget to cancel the subscription and it's like 5X as much. The person that invented the 'limited time' low cost subscription model is a damn genius.

    • I set a calendar reminder every time I sign up for an OzB deal that’s going to renew and, so far, I’ve managed to avoid the unplanned renewal!

You are in the 2% at least for now. As you age, as life becomes more complicated, you become more sad, illness, etc etc, one day you will forget and 'they' will get a sub out of you. That's why the model works. It's like speed cameras, install enough of them, even the person that never speeds, one day will sneeze or have a stomach cramp at the worst time and accidently dab the accelerator and…..flash, speeding ticket, it is just a matter of time, 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, it doesn't matter, the laws or probability is almost always against you, eventually you will get done.

I might consider this when the kids move out. I just manage to finish Wordle, Strands, Connections, Pips and Sudoku every day, and Spelling Bee the previous day is screwed up for me, so I get this too, but don't have time to do every day to get to at least genius.

    • What do you read for impartial news?

    • It's not even for the news portion of the New York Times, just the games.

  • Thanks, worked for me through the NYT website.
