any big difference between the 990 and 930?
990 has more channels so you'll get a better ATMOS surround effect but I went with the 930 and im very happy with it.
Not worth the extra for the 990 unless you want the absolute "best"
I had both Q990C and Q930D, honestly I can't tell the difference. We usually only watch movie at volume 10 which is loud enough and people in our house simply can't tell the difference. Maybe you'll only start to feel the difference at very high volume which we never tried, but this use case is not really useful unless you have a soundproof room.
Price wise Q990 is a better deal though. My recommendation usually is to get Q990 if it goes on sale for sub $1000 OR Q930 if it goes on sale for sub $750
So the Q990F is ~$950 and Q930F is ~$750 with the Black Friday evouchers.
I'm mainly watching DDP 5.1 Atmos on Stremio, what would you recommend? Is the extra $200 for Q990 worth it for this kind of content? I'm leaning towards the Q990 because I guess $200 is nothing over the next hopefully 5+ years using it.
My personal opinion the extra $200 is not worth it, but I'm not an audiophile so its really up to you. Whatever you choose is a good buy at those price

the down side with the Samsung EPP store is their customer service is terrible - I've bought a few things from them because they have really good prices like this but they take ages to process the order, don't communicate any status when you ask them, and after they 'ship' they never provide a tracking number or reference each of the times I ordered and I had to always ring DB Schenker to get them to call Samsung to get an actual tracking/reference..

Thanks OP just used it. Asked for the family and friends discount but the live chat said that wasn’t a thing but instead gave me a discount for having a Samsung phone. Had to give a serial number and a picture of the phone. But all went through for a q990

Same here. I reckon OP might be using a CommBank Yello or government employee account which has a higher discount rate than other EPP/education stores. Also, beware of delivery times, if you are in the Gold Coast, it's 5-30 days lead time. Mine has been sitting at consigned received, with no updates for a week. Not sure if anyone had the same experience?

5% EPP first time buyer + if you ask Samsung chat for a loyalty discount code they will give you another 5% code
And then another $50 off from vouchers they sent start of November

@Blank10211: I actually tried using both the 50$ voucher and the 5% loyalty discount - but I could only use one of them. I wish they could be, the effective price then would have been < 900$.
Apparently, these 2 can't be stacked, both are coupon codes.
The loyalty discount is 5%, which comes to about 54$, so barely 4$ more than the Nov 50$ voucher.
Summary: Commbank EPP price 1099 + 5% Commbank discount + 5% First purchase + 5% loyalty or 50$ Nov voucher
Just snapped one off Commbank store + 5% first purchase + 5% loyalty voucher + Commbank yello discount - came to $942.65

Sure.
1) 5% first purchase will be automatically applied to the cart as soon as you login to this EPP portal using your samsung account. If its not your first purchase for this EPP portal, create a new account.
2) Then As samsung support over chat (Click on that icon in right bottom to open up chat menu). Ask them for a loyalty voucher - they would need a photo/snapshot of any old samsung phone/tablet, for them to input the serial number. Doesn't necessarily have to be your Samsung phone.
