Sold by Garmin Amazon. Not ATL but if you missed the deal back in July ($597) then this might be the next best thing before black Friday.

Good to know. I'd prefer getting it from rebel. I had issue with my 245 initially and they replaced it.

Any places with 10% off rebel gift cards atm?

I checked and unfortunately not at the moment. If you wait a week maybe something will come up

@SpicyPeanut: I pulled the trigger with rebel. Signature Rewards has 7% off GC. I was able to access this with my AGL utilities account. My rebel rewards has a bonus spend and save promo which I activated for 600 bonus points (worth $30) with $300 spend. Should also receive 699 base points (worth $34). Total cost should be $650 with $65 worth of rebel points to spend on other things. Will also be able to claim back GST for overseas trip in the next fortnight. Great result, thanks OP

@Crowing: Did you get the rebel points straight away? I can't see it on my account. Damn you did your research, I have agl and signature but didn't get any of that. Well done

@SpicyPeanut: Ah damn - you can always return it for the extra $40+ savings ;)
It’s appearing under “My Rewards” section but the points can’t be redeemed yet. Has the following text:
Rewards will be available 24 hours from when your entire order is shipped or collected in-store.
I just picked up my order so hopefully will be updated soon.

Also same price from the garmin.com official website.

I get 15% off the garmin site with my level of bupa cover, worth checking your bupa my rewards if you are a member and looking to buy

I checked my health fund, Medicare, and there's 10% off… but you strangely have to buy through a specific third party website rather than straight from Garmin. So, no discounted price on the third party site.

15% off RRP or 15% off $699?

@Crowing: Ahh yeah, i had never used it, says ineligible at checkout so maybe its full price only :(

@UNFKNBLVBL: Is it a discount code or do you access the Garmin store via a unique Bupa link? I would love a discount code to use on full price items but can't find any.

@WorkingLowJam: it is a unique code but says it is invalid on that item, so I assume it only works on full priced items

Would this look silly on a females 15cm wrist ?
I love all it has to offer but have child like wrists
I think it's best you go and try it on at your nearest rebel or JB. Personally my wrist is not much bigger and I think it looks fine. But do consider the height and weight of the watch if you wear it everyday and during sleep.
I'm tempted to get the Suunto race 2 because it's thinner with same watch size

Pulled the trigger lucky I waited for a sale normally $999

Too many forerunner models how is this better than the 265 or 570
Think the fenix7pro is also on sale for 1k

There are many videos on youtube to answer that question. For me, 965 have maps, better battery, more function etc. but is 2 years old. 570 was just released with better HR sensor and voice calling but at $1k, I don't think it's better than this deal.

I just picked up a 570 @ $840 delivered on Amazon AU (through Amazon US)
The 965 is made of more robust materials, but down on some niche features.
But for me, the thing was minimising weight - so the 570 ticked that box over the 9XX series.

I have it from last deal. Solid watch, tracks distance, HR, suitable for meditation etc. The straps it came with are very good too.

Very versatile watch, been through FR245, FR955, FR965, don't see much difference from 970 (which has strange colour schemes), I would stay with 965 before a good deal on the Fenix 8

What else can do open water swimming?

Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar for 899 might the a better option for some.
More solid build
Much longer battery life
newer HR sensor…https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/garmin-fenix-7-pro-sapphi…

But feels much heavier in the wrist.
I used the Fenix range for a while before switching to a 955 solar and I haven’t looked back.
955 is so comfortable compared to the heavy Fenix watches.

Torn as I'd rather splurge for the Forerunner 970 with the torch and speaker/mic combo which was one of my favourite features of my previous (Samsung) smartwatch and I know I'll miss those features if I settle. The price difference right now is huge though, hopefully some 970 deal comes up, it's been out for months now??

Probably need to wait until the 975 is released…

Oh man, this looks so tempting. The ONLY thing stopping me is the poor implementation of notifications reported for iPhone users. That is, the Garmin (& Polar) watches will mirror the iPhone notifications instead of being separately controlled/filtered. My watch & phone are different, and I don't want the same notifications on both.
This isn't an issue for Android users. This isn't an issue with my current Withings watch, Fitbit, Amazfit, Apple Watch, etc. with an iPhone either, so it's just lazy Garmin programming.

Good workaround for this is
Settings
Apps
(choose the app)
Notifications
Then untick ‘Notification Centre’The notification will still show on your phone but not your watch.

I played with this. The notification shows on the lock screen but not Notification Centre. Once it’s displayed, it disappears even if not actioned. It only stays on the slide down Notification Centre if the notification centre is toggled on.
It’s not really a good workaround logically either. The best place to put low priority notifications on the phone is in the Notification Centre, with the lock screen and banner options turned off. The best place to put high priority notifications is on the watch. So, the Notification Centre toggle is now conflicted.
Looks like I’ll be heading down the Coros watch route.

Do I buy this for $700 or hope the 955 falls back to $450-500 at Black Friday? Have been waiting for the later but happy to spend the extra if the functions are worth the it for the 965?

It's very likely that there will be more deals around black Friday, and I think this deal will last until then so if you're happy to wait and think 955 is enough for you then I'd suggest you wait

Rebel, Jb and the iconic also price matching. I’m tempted to upgrade from AW ultra 1
