Men's Tapered Chino Pants (Multiple Colours Available) $20 + $9 Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ $60 Order) @ Target

500

Ive been wearing these for last 5 years - can vouch for the quality of an everyday pair of pants for work / office. I replace them every 12 months so they stay fresh looking.

The size and fit is great.

Have compared to higher cost chinos like Trenery and Country Road, these beat them in quality and durability IMHO.

Not sure why they are clearance - hopefully they are not discontinued.

RRP is $35 I believe.

With the way they look, $20 should be the RRP. To say they beat Country Road in quality, I find it highly improbable. Unless Country Road has seriously declined in the last few years.

      • Last time I checked, Country Road was definitely awful - a far cry from the 90s.

The Target ones seem ok, but my other chino purchases from them fade and develop "cats whiskers" after two washes (at least in navy blue).

Maybe these particular ones are better?

        • Country Road is terrible - i.e. quality. It used to be so good - very sad. I haven't bought anything from there in years. Marcs is another brand that's gone downhill (used to be my favourite brand previously).

Surprisingly I got a pair of chinos from YD that have lasted 5 years. I didn't think it would last that long but it may have been before the quality drop

I treat the Amazon essential chino’s similarly. Ie. replace them after a year or so.

    • The one I bought was before Covid19 I guess and the material is so supreme that it didn't even loose it's shine. But again that was before Anko stuff took over the Target original quality, hence, not sure anymore

Nono didn't you hear? He wore them for a whole 12 months non-stop before that happened!

    Very limited stock

  • No free delivery with onepass

    • One of the reasons I dont waste money on OnePass. It does not offer free delivery when you need it.

Still looks better than the ultra wide legged parachute pants people wear today

  • edit: how do you select a diff colour? Title says multiple available?

This is my go to office pants, and I have tried a few from the cheap to the expensive. Good fit and reasonably durable.

They do fade though, so would agree that I tend to cycle them probably closer to 2 years.

    • +3

Use a very short cold wash on them to keep them lasting a bit longer. The worse thing you can do to pants (or any fast fashion) is to wash them after every wear.

    • Could the fading be from hanging out under the sun and not turned inside-out?

  • I miss bottoms lab. I bought all their stuff as they were going out of business and they still look great.

Look, I don’t expect OzB users to be the most stylish bunch, but imo these don’t look great. Not offensive though, just a bit NPC

    • What would you recommend instead? I go country road but they deteriorate pretty quickly

Actually, I have a few pairs of these Target Chinos and I enjoy them. For less than $30, you can't go wrong really.

  • This was a ripper deal OP, for the quality of the chinos, thanks for sharing
