  • What do people think of then Ordinary vs Korean beauty products? Kbeauty seems cheaper and potentially better?

    • +6

Both are relatively accessible (price point wise) and great. It just depends on the actives and what you're wanting to achieve with your skincare routine.

The Ordinary is more ingredient-lead and bare, whereas K-Beauty products have more unique compositions and offer unique formulas. Anecdotally I've had some gems and duds with both The Ordinary & K-Beauty brands so you just gotta find what works for you.

Using a combination of both I think would be great either way, it just depends on what you're after.

K beaut are not cheap these days

  • Last year when I bought in store, they also gave away free eye serums. Is there something like that this year?

I'm trying the Retinal 0.2% Emulsion. Other brands with the same potency are selling for over $100. So I'm keen to see how this one performs. Reviews seem to be good.

If you can get your hands on Tretinoin, its many many times more potent and effective than Retinol. You need a prescription though.

      • And way cheaper coz you only need to use it 3-4 times a week

        • Ordinary recommends 2 or 3 times a week only for the emulsion, I think.

      • Second this. Tretinoin will be much more effective. Also available very cheap from overseas online shops without prescription.

      • Adapalene is available over the counter. Probably less potent than tret but still way stronger than these derivatives.

Also much cheaper to get it from iherb than Australia

  • Can we price match this at Myer?

    • +2

Depends. They are told not to, but ive had success in the past when i argued their price matching policy.

However policy states that they wont pricematch if

sourced from an online website that does not have a physical retail store in Australia

But if you find a young employee, they probably wont be unaware of this condition

They have a retail store in Melbourne.

We have zero ordinary store in Sydney, we don't have enough crimes in the city to warrant an ordinary store

          • @Nillionaire: Feel bad for the workers though. They must go home seeing red stars.
