If you prefer Flybuys or need them sooner: Earn 20x Flybuys Points on Apple Gift Cards (In-Store Only) @ Coles.

    The return of the king

    My maths is so bad…if I spend $1300 what will I save/get

    • +7

130, 10% value of the product

      • +3

Thanks for the detailed information 👍

  • Can it stack with woolie monthly 10% off deals?

  • Torn whether to go this deal or the flybuys deal tomorrow. Have equal qantas and velocity points, velocity worth slightly more $$ but feel qantas have more availability

    • +2

Are you sure about that, I actually feel the opposite.

      • what do you mean sorry? Don't recommend it obviously but qantas points sell for 1.3-1.35c pp and velocity 1.4c pp I believe. vs 1c pp for flybuys or EDR

        • +1

I meant I can’t find any international reward flights on Qantas, but I did find some on the Velocity website. I guess it depends on the route and date.

          • @T-man: Yeah, I used to have over a mill points but sold my majority, only have 200k qantas and 200k velocity now so trying to decide which ones better to earn

            • @Brick50: Earned Qantas before and incidentally do, but I mostly focus on Velocity now for transferring to Krisflyer. I can actually redeem international business class flights on a proper quality airline without the search turning into a part time job.

Also not living in Sydney, so any direct route advantages of Qantas are moot.

Coles also has better offers for earning 10k chunks of Flybuys points once in a while. Velocity does the 1.4c topup deals which is more consistent than Qantas Wine.

All down to how you intending to use your points. Don’t be fooled by the value of the points ;)

    • if you buy from Coles/Flybuys, the points are worth less than 5%, unlike this deal

      • how does it differ?

  • so i gather you cant pay for the apple gift card with everyday rewards points/dollar, or 'flybuy' dollars in the case of cards from Coles?

    • +1

      Thats right

  • Can the Woolworths points be used for opal card top up😂😂

    • I dont think.

      • +1

Oh I see - thank you very much!!

If you're after 20x every day reward points on Apple gift cards sooner, Ampol FOODARY locations are running 20x points for the duration of this month starting today. Valid for any value purchased

    • can you pay with Ampol gift cards

      • +1

I'm not sure, it'll depend if the POS system allows it. Also not sure if there's a purchase limit

        • Bought one ,there was a big ad poster on the glass door, no mention about purchase limit from T&C,but they only allowed one card per transaction

          • @Smallman: Did you try to pay with Ampol gift cards?

          • @Smallman: will the bonus point show up in POS instantly like in wws ?

            • @ggfatty: Nothing ,just like fuel purchase, it will take a few days to arrive

            • @ggfatty: Points can take up to 2 weeks to appear in your account from Ampol FOODARY, they are not instant unfortunately

              • @Planes are cool: yep just tried myself, got a $500 gc with no point. Finger crossed. Based on my experience with wws, if the point does not arrive instantly, most likely it will not arrive.

Hopefully I dnt have to chase this one up

          • @Smallman: Unable to find a poster in my local foodary. Any idea what is the purchase limit? I only dare to buy $500 so far lol

  • time to stock up!

  • Most creative uses of Apple stickers from AGC?

    • Current version of the GC has is a card without sticker.

      • No more stickers in apple gift cards?

  • Thanks OP

  • Is there a way to do an online check for the details and values of the purchased cards?

    • yes, activate them straight away, preferably before leaving the store front

      • Can you pay with gift card balance in store if its applied to your apple acc

    • +5

I go during non peak times and find a checkout person who doesn’t have a queue (service desk works well). Explain that I want to open them to verify before buying and then pay and then activate all in front of them. Woolies staff were very good. And lucky I did, because the variable load that I was putting $500 on it was fake / tampered with, so they just swapped it on the spot without question and kept it for reporting.

      • Do you have any issue getting the points with variable cards? The first time I tried, i didn’t get the points straight away.

Normally you get the points almost immediately right?

      • Was this when the cards had old packagin

        • old packaging was abit easy to check for tampering

    • For any interested, the following link allows you to check the card value.

      https://secure6.store.apple.com/au/shop/giftcard/balance

  • For the newer ones do you open them and and confirm the card isn’t tampered with

    • +1

Before paying? I have same q

      • They wouldn’t let me scratch it they did open the card but wouldn’t let me scratch it in front of them to confirm it wasn’t tampered even though I told them I wanted to use it right there

      • I bought one of the newer variable ones today. The first two variable-balance cards I took off the Woolies hook already had the cardboard cover removed. Perhaps by scammers, perhaps by kids. I picked a random card from half way down the stack which appeared intact. The manned-checkout I went to didn't know anything about tampering of the Apple Gift Cards, and I wasn't confident enough to insist I open it prior to sale. The cardboard "lid" over the barcode detached exactly how you'd expect that sort of scalloped cardboard to go, and I noted that the packaging had many angled mini-cuts by design, which I imagine would make tampering much more visible. In opening the card once I got back to the car I pretty much destroyed the packaging anyway, and redeemed the card right away without issue.
I imagine someone with really good knife skills could split the packaging along its edge, remove the internally stored cardboard card, which is sticky-glued in there, copy/exchange the activation code hidden under sticky plastic, and put the whole thing back together again, but I doubt they could do that and have it look untouched by human hands. So if you see any creases, folds, bends etc, maybe pick a different card to activate. It's still a silly idea to not just keep them at the service desk and do away with this risk.

Can I use balance in apple account to pay in store?

  • +1

Went to WW South Yarra VIC and was told they don't sell Apple gc in store anymore due to lots of scam/tampering.
Assume that might be just for that store and other WW stores still sell Apple gc?

    • That's odd

      • I know, I even asked them even though it's in their catalogue, they don't sell it, and she said yes.
Anyway, ended up getting my wife to purchase from other WW store, so this must be only at South Yarra store.

        • Did you have any issues at other ww store. Did you load into your applr acc straight away?

          • @ozbargainerlife1: No issue luckily, and yes load into the apple acc straight away to confirm before leaving the store.

  • I am not able to see this as an Instore only offer in the WOW Rewards app - Should I be able to?
I can see the Ampol Deal.

    • +1

Everyday Rewards usually does not advertise in-store gift card deals on the Everyday Rewards app.

This offer is advertised at the bottom of page 31 of the online version of the WA Woolworths catalogue (and there should be posters in-store advertising this offer). The quickest way to get to the catalogue is to open the link to this OzBargain deal.

(As an aside, I cannot see the Ampol Foodary offer on one account through the Everyday Rewards app.)

        Thanks mate, appreciate the response.

  • Person at the counter told me only $1000 worth per day. Reading the T&Cs don’t mention that, only a limit of 10 cards per day. Guess I’ll be going back to woolies. Thanks OP!

    • Did you have any issues at other ww store. Did you load into your applr acc straight away? Do you know if I load it in my apple account, can I go in store to apple and use it or does it have to be an online order

      • +1

Haven’t been to another store yet, will wait until lunch time. I did load into my apple account straight away, they were happy for me to do that at the store. I think you can order at the store or order online for pick up. Last time i ordered at an Apple Store the sales person was happy for me to do an order on the app and they would give it to me on the spot.

    • I was told the same they didn’t let me scratch it in front of them either

  • I bought 5 x $500 cards today. The Woolies staff were happy for me to open them to check for tampering before paying.

Loaded into my Apple account straight away. No issues. No evidence of tampering.

    • Did you get 20x points for all 5 x $500 cards?

      • I was only let 2 but the points were loaded straight away

      • +1

Yes. Max 10 gift cards per day

        • Yeah, thanks. People being told $1000 per day are incorrect. Just returned from Woolworths, 5 × $500 cards, got 50000 rewards points instantly.

          • @Wally23: I was told $1000 per transaction

          • @Wally23: It doesn’t matter if it says that it’s up to the store you really can’t complain. The store I was at Blacktown didn’t let me buy more than 2. Even though I wanted 6

    • Bought 3, Woolies staff ripped it for me and let me check the codes before paying. All worked.

  • I bought 5 cards today, couldn't open before paying to check the codes, but I opened at the register to add to apple account and saw no signs of tampering

  • Bought my cards today, they were all kept behind the counter at the service desk and I had no issues with redeeming any of them

  • -2

Anybody know if I can pay with Woolworths' e-gift card? Thanks!

  • Any total points limit like coles 50000? Anyone get more than 50000 in Wooli? Thanks

    • I went to Wheelers Hill Woolworth. The staff tried and said can not purchase more than $1000 due to the system limit. Strange

  • Purchased 5 x $500 Apple Gift cards today, paid and open in front of counter, thanks god there was no issues, all loaded up correctly and 50,000 points tracked instantly = $250 woolly credit.

Overall I must be lucky all worked out well.

  • Just went to buy
Apple prices making people buy the variable load cards or people playing it safe, as only that stack was empty.

    Bought several $200 cards
    Loaded to my account

Sad that I can't continue the gift card sticker collection though

  • Just went to town hall and I was lucky they were restocking…..

    1) At Town Hall they are not putting the cards out, you have to ask customer services.
    2) No such thing as purchase limit to $1000, I got 5 variable and bought 2.5K.
    3) Town Hall customer services don't process the cards, I have to go to self services and get a staff to scan and load the cards.
    4) The balance of Reward point should show straight away on your app.

This should be the same across all stores as long as there is stock for cards.

    • Not the same across all stores I went to 2 stores Blacktown had it hidden and they only let me buy 2 or 1 and it had to be at the front. I went to Wetherill park they had it all on the gift card section but they let me scratch it before paying and could be done anywhere even the self serve with the 5 limit

      • Why would you scratch it before paying? The cashier onlly need to open the strip to scan the bar code of the card to load.

Seems store are implementing their own rule, I wonder how legit is that as there was no rule published on linited to 1 or 2…

        • To see if it’s been tampered I told them I was going to redeem it immediately the staff was okay with that as they didn’t have it behind a counter it was just in the gift card section . Look above the new versions they can still be tampered

  • Hi,
