this 15% off zip, we can keep using it, right? i think its quite good - with expensive item you get max $300 off plus TRS back from the original price not what you have paid

    • I think it is a once off code for this promotion period. If I go in to try the code again it says it has already been used.

  • +1

Thanks for that. I didn't realise my wife's current boost offer expires this week.

  • -1

    wtf is a zip pay?

    • +1

      Like another Afterpay

    • thought we all had a friend that's bad with money with debt to zip pay lol

  • +4

Thanks, I did what @xyron mentioned in the original coupon deal to avoid having to actually 'use' ZIP:

"just bought an eBay gift card from WW Everyday Rewards for the exact amount I needed, then applied the SHOPZIP code and the eBay gift card code to check out"

    • Can i buy a gift card for $215.73 and do i still need a Zip account to pay $0?

      • +9

Yep - WW Everyday Rewards lets you choose a custom amount, e.g.; $215.73, then in eBay choose to 'pay with zip' to get the SHOPZIP discount, then add the gift card coupon to bring it to $0 - no ZIP account needed. I got the gift card code in less than a minute.

        • +4

Thank you so much… For those who are with BUPA (life rewards), ebay cards egift cards are 3%off. Final cost $209.26 applying above described method.

          • @Kapitoshka: Good idea.

Checked with LUMO Rewards app and can do the same with 3% off

        • +2

Thanks a lot as well .. BUPA method works well.. exact amt entered .. less 5 mins to get the card by email.. Net cost $17.42 / month to run my phone with ample data. Had plenty of data with the old 170 gb 12 mo plan so now more surplus .
I do have resistance to the intrusive cashback methods ..

          • +4

@Chalkster: Plus you avoided the drama many face of trying to by the bloody cards through Boost’s sh*tty website!

        • Awesome

        • Do you buy the ebay gift online, or go to a WW supermarket to buy it? If online, what is the link?
          thank you.

        • +2

Having problems finding Ebay Gift Cards in WW Everyday Rewards. Just searching WW ER site for Ebay Card, without signing in shows no Ebay Cards and "Server Error" OzBargained ???

          • +1

            @leighzac: same here

            • +1

@bazingaa: Looks like Coles will work but need to round to $216

              • @leighzac: link please, I tried afterpay it failed too

                • +1
                  • @leighzac: Thanks, I tried that but got stuck at the payment window, might be ozbargained too.

                    • @bazingaa: Select Zip dropdown in Ebay Checkout window. Add the code in the voucher box and should change the payment amount.

                      • @leighzac: i mean giftcards.com.au is having issues at the payment details page, :(

                        • @bazingaa: were you able to pay for Boost Mobile SIM with an eBay gift cards from giftcards.com.au?

                          • @HDay: I couldn't buy a gift card as it was stuck at payment details on giftcards.com.au.
Tried Afterpay gift cards and got my Afterpay account frozen.
Tried Prezzee and it failed as well.

I think there might be some kind of fraud prevention system activated, probably OzBargained.

    • Thanks for the tip. My employer rewards program had 4% off eBay but only whole dollar values. Still better off and I don't have to deal with zip.

    • i get Server Error
There appears to be a server error.

Please wait a few moments and try again.

      https://www.everyday.com.au/errors/server-error

  • I think costco deal might be similar to this. $250 + $30 shop card?

Topcashback $60 back, sim is $260?

  • My plan expires at the end of March. I think I may wait it out.

    Good bargain though.

  • I'm currently with woolworths and that ends in march - worth buying this and sitting on it until then? no chance of a TGN scenario where it's high-risk if not activated right?

    • +1

Hey man, I've never had one of my Boost coupons I've pre-bought just fizzle when I go to activate it like 6 months later.

They've been reliable to date and haven't reneg'd but who knows, there's a first time for everything lol.

  • Must be close to all time low price?

    • They were close to $190 couple of years ago

  • Is there any negative to buying this and activating it when my plan ends september of next year?

    • +2

I think you'd lose the bonus data

Receive 50GB bonus data if activate by 2/3/2026

      • mmm I see, I thought so - might be a silly question but do you think that if there's a bonus data deal at the time of activation my card will be eligible?

  • Havent seen one of these this cheap for a long time.
Whats the chances they do better deals come end of the month for black friday/cyber monday?
    Worth waiting ?

  • +1

I am currently with Boost and expiring in 10 days. Is there a way to utilize this and keep my number?

    • +1

You need to port out to another provider than port back in, usually a day apart.

      • Yes, just make sure you wait at least 24 hrs before porting back, or you might be stuck in limbo for while like I was.

    • Port out to something cheap like Aldimobile then just port straight back into Boost with this.

    • +2

you have a 50/50 chance to get a rep helpful enough to do a sim swap through chat
dont just straight up ask for it though…act dumb and say this was bought for you and you are trying to 'recharge' with it / 'activate it on your current number'
      ive done this many times…
if you dont want to potentially waste an hour+ of your life however port out to another provider with the cheapest sim you can buy would be the other way

      • Word on the street is Boost reps are now reluctant to help with "new"customer renewals with same number. As the managing director of the PDB((Philanthropic Dad's Bank) I have a family of 5 and have now done this > 10 times. I use a $2 Telstra card from office works. Tip for new players when activating the Telstra SIM is to scroll down past all the plans offered and select, "Continue without recharging".
I have always done the port out/in after hrs with a weekday the next day incase I need support, but never needed it. Porting each way usually only takes minutes. Longest has taken 20 minutes for service to come back. Not sure if the process is any more reliable than using a non Telstra sim o port out to but using a Telstra sim works.

        • To add to this, I have had annual success 4 years in a row in getting customer service activate the starter sim and move my existing Boost number to it.

Just to confirm that it is possible, but it depends on the operator and their willingness. You can only try…

    • +2

Add a Voda35 SIM for only $6.8 and you can keep your number. That's under $19 a month for 13 months.

Nice thanks for the lead, ended up getting this!

        $261.80 x 0.85 (15% Zip code) = $222.53, then 222.53 x 0.97 (3% off Bupa eBay GC) = $215.85 net

$215.85 / approx 13 months for under $17 a month, pretty good deal.

At least I can now test Vodafone for 28 days when I port out to them. I've been on the fence with other recent Vodafone/Vodafone MVNO deals floating around, but haven't been game enough to jump into a 12 month term straight up!

  • +2

Telstra Sim for $262.65 if anyone is interested.

    • Link?

      • Why a downvote? I'm the OP for the above deal🤔

  • This vs Telstra, is it all suburb and reception based or telstra prepaid will have bigger bandwidth? as Boost also use Telstra

    • +1

Boost use the same network. But data packets from a telstra plan will get priority over a boost mvno. Still good value and far superior to optus.

      • Given that Boost just sent out an email, is this still true?

"Telstra is rolling out 5G Standalone - an advanced evolution of 5G technology. Your current plan won't include access to 5G standalone, but your existing coverage remains unchanged. This means:
You'll continue to have access to 5G in areas currently available to you.
In new 5G (Standalone) only areas, you will have access to 4G."

        • More here: https://www.telstra.com.au/coverage-networks/our-coverage/5g…

Important: Telstra, Boost and JB Hi-Fi Pre-Paid services currently don’t have access to 5G SA. More information will be shared once available.

        • My mum lives in Parkside SA and she has Optus. To get 5g coverage where she is Optus have 5g standalone. This requires her to be a monthly expensive plan. She is on a $250 prepaid plan so is. It entitled to it. L. So Optus are excluding all the users who are not on premium plans. I assume Telstra will do this too. Offer a 5g network that is exclusive for business clients and more expensive monthly contract plans. One way of getting people to cough up for expensive plans.

    • +1

In real life no diff between Boost and Telstra service.

  • I called the seller and the expir of the SIM is more than 1 year, Early 3/2027.

  • +1

    Great find OP Thanks

  • new to prepaid sim games, i got one telstra prepaid expiring soon, 1 optus prepaid expiring soon, so i will need to get 1 boost and another telstra? so i can keep both my exisitng numbers?
    first number optus to telstra
    second number Telstra to boost

is that the way? I meant is Telstra to boost port allowed?

    • +1

As you are not going from boost to boost, and you already have second number on Telstra prepaid you would be regarded as a "new" customer and can port straight to a Boost sim. Telstra prepaid to Boost works well and is automated.
I gather with your first number you want to go from Optus to Telstra prepaid sim. Why wouldn't you go to Boost? ( perhaps need more data, but will be $$). Again you can go straight to Telstra or Boost as you are a "new" customer.

      • yeah, boost seems better value but I found posts where people said porting out between boost and telstra is not straight forward and may need intermediate service provider, so porting out to boost from Telstra is with no catch?

        • +1

Nah, it used to be funky, now it's easy and problem free. I've done it twice now, and each time it took 2 mins each way. It took longer to do the activate/signup/verification biz than the actual port itself. I just did it 10.mins ago. Thanks OP!

        • +1

Post paid to boost can only be done via support, prepaid Telstra to Boost no issues.

  • +2

Needed to port out so this time instead of buying the Telstra sim and porting in/out straight away I bought an amaysim $12 esim 50gb/28 days which uses the optus network and so far in South Australia at least I've been pretty happy with it, think it'll be alright for another 25 days until I use the Boost 12 month sim that was just delivered. And then next year when its time to renew again I might even look at other yearly plans on the Optus network. Could be an Adelaide thing though that its working alright.

    • +1

This is what I was doing for the whole family for last 3 years since Boost stopped SIM swap
When Amaysim or Coles goes down to $10 I buy few and keep for churning.
If you remember account details with amaysim porting can be done im matter of hours.

      • +2

I generally just use the Aldi $2 sim, port out to aldi and port back into boost is generally within the hour, was super easy last year

  • Thanks, bought one :)

  • Activation expiry date circa 3/2027. so can activate before that or have to wait till 3/27 to activate?

  • -1

Will Officeworks price beat? I don't have Zip Pay, sadly!

    • you dont need Zippay, you can buy with ebay giftcard. I dont have Zippay either, bought 2, hopefully telstra to boost port out would be smooth, else unnecessary hassle

    • -1

OW won’t price beat because there is code

  • Code doesn’t seem to be working anymore? Anyone else

    • Yep no luck here, spent 30min trying to get a gift card lol

    • Dang it
