This is the worst performing ARM chipset. This is not a BARGAIN.

    • Its ok for general purpose, not power user or gamer. Good for school. The higher specs one is 200 bucks more if you're after something more beefy. Smaller 14" screen though

It would be okay for a cheap laptop, but hard to justify for the money.

Can get something like this for $869.35
        https://www.lenovo.com/au/outlet/en/p/laptops/ideapad/ideapa…

Yeah it isn't 16" screen, but otherwise it is better and cheaper.

        • Used one though

          • @djmm: Refurb.

Been plenty of cheap non-refurb Lenovo snapdragons available also.

@Aureus: Yeah fair enough - I could easily find sub 1k laptop around but can't seem to find any with 16 inch OLED and higher res, that's why I think this is attractive for someone who's looking for specific specs. JB also has higher specs one in store (I think it was X model), for $300 bucks more but shame no OLED

              • @djmm: why do u need OLED on a laptop?

                • @Flux23856: PS: Especially if it's "for general purpose, not power user or gamer. Good for school."???????

                • @Flux23856: Better for movies and overall nicer screen. I actually already got one, it's very enjoyable experience. Battery life excellent.

                  • @djmm: If the batt life is good it's alr ig, tho u could've gotten so many better deals,
Dude ur not spending 1200 just to watch movies…

                    • @Flux23856: Sum of everything - went to JB to have a look and I like this range most - keyboard, thickness, look, etc

General purpose but still costs $1200 wat. General purpose can be just $229 for an A grade laptop.

      • Dude get a Thinkpad with the same stats or a refurb I don't see how this deal is anything other than just the normal price…

This is one of the worst deals I've seen in a while.
Not to mention it's ARM, AND IT'S 512GB WTF?????
Srsly djmm, if u learnt how to copy paste links, take ur newfound skill somewhere else…

Feels good not to have missed out on the other Omnibook deal.

  • 1.6Kg for those interested.
Not really lightweight for a 16inch (surprisingly imo).
