Nearly at the all time low price for this OLED monitor. Last deal price was $830.17 in October, when Dell dropped it to $933.90 and there as the usual 11% off. Dell has just dropped it to $949.30 and you get another 11% off with the code FUTURE11%, bringing it down to $843.88.

Not bad if you were after this monitor and didn't grab it last month.

4k 240hz…. What kind of gpu to suit it?

          How many can you get?

Tempting but black Friday is around the corner…

Things will be so small at that screen size

    • Is it better off going up to 32” for 4K?

Currently running 3x 27” 1440p monitors side by side, been looking at replacing the middle one (generally play games from just the middle) with a 4K OLED

      • i run a 42" lg c2 no problems. just sit further back

        • I think sitting further away from the desk would probably bother my brain more than I care to admit when gaming, the plan was keeping 2 of the 1440p to go on the sides of whatever OLED I end up grabbing, but a 42" would probably be enough to justify having it as a single monitor for me in saying that!

      • +1

I would but thats just my preference. Not to mention you're gonna want to run your games on 4k as well, meaning you're gonna need quite a beefy gaming rig to get decent fps at that resolution.

        • +1

I’ve got a 5080 rig on the way so should hopefully be able get some decent 4K gaming in to somewhat warrant the purchase of a 4K OLED

    • Probably looking at 150% scaling in Windows at this size+resolution

      • +1

        200% is better

Just an FYI, dell have done a voluntary recall on this due to black screen issues that many people have had (I got an email from them asking me to return it despite having already done so as it was non functional). Not sure if recall is effective or if new stock is updated version.

    • +2

I got the same issue, screen won't turn on after 2 weeks of use. Dell sent me a replacement unit. Box and monitor looked brand new but don't really know how new it was.

    • I got the same message. They assured me that they send out refurbs but currently have none, thus are sending new ones out. Would it be possible to ask for a refund instead and buy a new one at the lower price?

      • When I returned mine it was outside the 2 week change of mind return window (1-2 months after). So they might, no harm in asking.

  • Went to try out an oled today, and was quite whelmed tbh. Sure the picture quality is good but it didn’t really get very bright. Bit worried as I have a blind behind my monitors. Maybe I was trying a defective unit it did flash randomly a couple times…

    • This unit? I have this unit and it is quite bright for my eyes during daytime. I have a large window facing south, sort of 2m to the left of the screen.

      • No not this unit. That's good to hear though

    • Did you try turning up the brightness in nvidia control panel or the monitors controls. Oled should be really bright because each pixel is a light source while standard led needs a backlight around the edges

      • I set it to max on the monitor which for whatever reason was 50 i think, but yeah wasn't particularly bright. I think it must've been defective i'll have to try it again at a different place.

  • Anything on the AW3425DW, misssd the deal early last month.

    • +1

Nothing currently, but it is semi-regularly discounted, so I will post it when it's cheap again.

      • Thanks!

    • What's the usual discount price on the 3425DW?

      Managed to buy a 3425DW for $950 and a 3423DW for $800

      • So FYI there are various variants with product codes that include 3425DW and 3423DW.

Presuming AW3425DW and AW3423DWF and brand new, not refurb.

AW3425DW: $999.54 is the lowest I have seen before any potential cashbacks. Not sure if any applied.
AW3423DWF is no longer sold, but was $1,199 earlier in the year. If there was a 11% discount at the time (I don't know) then ~$1,067.

I don't track refurb prices, but they can be highly variable.

        • I am keen to get this as I have access to the Edu Pricing. But want to know if the flickering issue is due to software or hardware and if there have been any new batches with the fix? I will mostly game using PS5 and some WFH

          • @M7RM: Well, just fyi since ive used them for about a month now. I've got no flickering across the board. then again, I don't have VRR enabled so its forced max refresh rate.

  • +1

Good to see oled coming down.

  • Beware guys, these monitors still have the black screen issue.

    • +2

They have recalled the faulty batch and are offering replacements to those affected.

I got an email a couple days ago asking to confirm my shipping info for a replacement to be sent out

  • Hi all, Is it safe to buy the Alienware AW2725Q 27"? Asking due to the screen flickering issue. I will mostly game on this using a PS5 and some WFH use.

I was thinking of waiting for a few weeks and see if it gets any cheaper.

  • i got this very happy, the screen is a little matte not glossy though
