    great price.

    • This is an amazing price, I thought I had a great deal when I bought it for $279 1.5 years ago. However, do note that the down side with this monitor is how slow it is to turn on (remove start up logo to speed it up by about 5 seconds) and alt tab out of full screen games as it takes about 7-11 seconds. I also have weird issues where it started flickering like crazy for a few hours at a time every 2-4 months, hard to get it replaced under warranty as the issue is not repeatable as it's so sporadic. I got the BOE panel as mine is RW revision B0BT1121.

      • and alt tab out of full screen games as it takes about 7-11 seconds.

I don't experience this at all, LG panel

      • why not record it when it flickers as video proof?

what is BOE panel and is that good or bad?

        • I did record it but it just looks like a still, you can see the issue but it's not repeatable. The issue also fixes it self after 30 minutes - 1hr when it happens so I can't really claim the problem. According to most people the BOE panel is inferior to the LG panel with is the brand of the panel.

Please note panel could be RGB or BGR, with the latter not being great for small text.

This is fourth hand information, but highlighting for you to do your own due diligence on whether it meets your use case or not.

    • Well that sucks. I bought a couple of the 32in ones for $255. I'm guessing that's the same with them as well? I have BO revision. Ffs my luck.

    • I don't think this is true, the BGR subpixel layout panel that was in use with the M27Q is well discontinued and not longer in production.

  • +7

Couldn't see it anywhere in OP, so here it is: monitor is IPS.

    • Thanks, have added it to the title :)

It's a steal regardless of the tech IMHO!

  • Im probably gonna go grab one of these. An rtx 2080 should be able to run 2x 1440p?

    • Yeah easy, not necessarily for high end gaming though

  • This or the AOC Q27G11E for $209?

    • +2

The AOC has a VA panel- better blacks, but at the cost of poor viewing angles and motion blur.

      • +3

I have a Gigabyte with a VA panel the ghosting and blurring is pretty annoying and bad, if I was gonna buy a new monitor I personally wouldn't get a VA panel.

      • VA panels is does not have that bad/poor of viewing angles…
just not as good as IPS..

TN is the one with bad/poor viewing angles especially when you are viewing it from below the monitor…

Most people also sitting directly in front of the monitor anyway..

IPS also has its own problems with IPS glow

Awesome monitor. I bought it when it was ~$280 and I dont regret one bit. I got the lg panel. If you buy instore make sure you check the box to see the revision no if it starts with L0. If you get the one with B revision you're getting the inferior BOE panel.

    • how about revision B0B? That's what I got and there is nothing wrong with it?

      • That's the version with inferior BOE panel. The revision / version to avoid getting as mentioned above.

      • +1

Revision B0B is the inferior BOE panel, which also has the BGR pixel layout which can have issues with text clarity.

I'm curious if anyone who has recently bought this monitor in the past year actually has got the better LG panel. Part of me suspects HP has completely stopped producing the better LG variant of the monitor, and preying on people who want to gamble on receiving the better panel.

        • +4

I dont think they use LG panel anymore. Visit 2 store close to my house, they only have Revision B. But this is a good monitor as I got one already, can do landscape and horizontal as well which is pretty rare feature for under $200 QHD IPS monitor with 165Hz.

    • Thanks for the heads up, only had B monitors at our local store

      • +1

For 200 bucks i got a B0B… And i have 0 issues with text clarity

    • +1

thanks mine had the LG "L0"

      • Which store did you get it from?

  • +1

How does this compare to the MSI MAG 275QF?

  • I got the AOC CQ32G4E for $249 for $50 more i think it's a way better option

  • Just recently got back into racing sim on pc after selling my logitech wheel and GT7 2 years ago. Currently using the alienware 38" Curved. Not sure if I should go triple on these? Also bought meta quest 3 from fb marketplace but can't play for long as I get neasua from it. Still finding my "vr legs". Looking for immersion, that's the goal. Anyone with suggestions?

    • I use Gigabyte G27Qs for my sim rig triples, which are pretty similar to this afaik, and have been happy with them for a few years now. However, if you want better immersion, have the space, and can afford a little more I would recommend 32s over 27s for the extra screen height alone.

      • Thanks, will wait for a deal and find a triple monitor stand.

      When using the Q3:
      * Ensure you are getting minimum 90FPS.
      * Ensure the IPD is set correctly.
      * Try moving the lenses further away from your eyes (adjustment in the side of the head strap).
      * Just do short sessions to build up your tolerance.
      * Stop play as soon as you start feeling sick, otherwise the motion sickness can take days to get over (depending on the person)

  • Any recommendations for 4K 27" IPS monitors?

    • +1

Gigabyte m27up. On sale at centre com at the moment

      • Just wanted to say that I bought 2, definitely the best monitor Ive ever used.

The monitor also had a $50USD Steam gift card for redemption.

        • Nice! How much did you get it for in the end? Are you using it for gaming?

          • +1

@gentlychugging: Bought 2 in sperate transactions (to claim 2 gift cards) from Centrecom, $499 each.

Already playing BF6 with them, colours and speed are amazing and well above my old Dell IPS screen. Also found the inbuilt dock and KVM wo work well, despite the slow 18w charging.

  • Would it be a good idea to use it as a TV with my Google TV? My room is small

  • +1

27" is quite small for a tv nowadays in my opinion

    • Yeah that's way too tiny lol! Fork out the extra $20 and get the 31.5" Omen instead if you insist on using a monitor as a TV.

  • This or the Lenovo r27qe??

    • r27qe much better, stand is solid quality and has all movement features it can even go vertical.

  • Was ready to grab two until I learnt they don’t rotate nor are they hdmi 2.1 (or have usb c video) :(

    • +1

For 199 you want a maid aswell?

      • +3

        Yes. What a dumb question.

  • Got one, thanks OP.
Paid with gift card purchased from Samsung wallet with 8.5% off, and $10 birthday voucher.

  • Anyone got recommendations for 32inch and 4k?

    • +1

It's not 4K, but I got the HP OMen 32Q for $255. It goes on sale on eBay all the time. Extremely happy at this price, because I don't want to sit too close to the monitor. Good for Netflix or gaming, but obviously it's nowhere near as nice as a 4K Dell monitor for work.

  • I got one of these. WOW im impressed 😁😁

  • thanks just picked one up
