Updated. it's $1129 with free bag

You can pick up a new version of this model with 3 years pro warranty from Dell outlet, aka https://www.dell.com/en-au/outlet/refurbished-dell-pro-14-la… (as new) $1009. They also have some of this model in refurb for $889 also with 3 years warranty.

Hi mate, thanks for sharing. It's a good deal but the link that you shared is refurbished "as new" condition. The offer we have shared is a brand new with a bag. Please read it carefully "Dell As New" these words and the condition info. Refurbished are always cheaper than brand new.

I'd take dell refurb with 3 year warranty at $100-$250 less any day.

Bad deal

Agreed, but PSA: see the comment below yours by @niknah — that's how you say that it's a bad deal AND help out the community by explaining why or sharing a better one.

Sure. Though I've explained before that I'm the most prolific commenter. Sometimes I won't have time and just drop a quick "bad deal." Folks can choose to double-check whether their own experience is also validated by at least one other person (me). Folks can also expound on why it's a bad deal. Folks are free to purchase regardless.

@ $1129 (Was $1499)
No it wasn't, it was $1049…
Making a deceptive and misleading price comparison to a price you were not selling for just before your advertisement is against ACCC laws…
https://web.archive.org/web/20250905210651/https://lotuscomp…

The you should know that it is against ACCC law to advertise a price comparison to RRP when you have not been selling it for RRP before your advertised sale…

Is it just me, or do you find it a little aggressive when you read "Hi Mate"?

I have confirm that I have never 'mated' with this Rep.

@jv: Sorry for this, will not use this word going forward. Unfortunately I can’t edit the comment but will not use this again.

It was clearly a "you're not my mate" , mate… and this clearly is not worthy of being on ozbargain today…

We have taken down the deal from ozbargain as there was concern raised by the users. We will review this and post it again if applicable.

as there was concern raised by the users
Concern that you are making false and misleading claims about your sale…
Read up on the laws for advertising in Australia…

Hi mate, point noted. We did run a campaign 2 months before when price was low but has increased over the time. You won't find this exact laptop below $1199 anywhere but we were selling it for $1129 with bag and free shipping which is still cheaper. However, your comment does make sense, hence we expired the deal, and reviewing it again. Really appreciate your feedback, and we will ensure we continue to compliant with the laws and consumer expectations. Rest assured, no sale was made.

You won't find this exact laptop below $1199

@jv: Hi mate, yes this was our deal only back in August - September, like I mentioned in the comment above, the pricing was different in September and it's increased now. A promo offer was run by distributors back in August with $70 less price for the product hence we selling it at a promo price. The offer ended last month for us, hence the price is increased. However, it is still cheaper in the market.

Ways that a displayed price can be misleading
Comparing the displayed price to a recommended retail price (RRP) that the product was never sold at, or wasn’t sold at for a reasonable period right before the sale started.

@jv: Hi mate, we have removed $1499 RRP from regular price, also updated regular price to $1099 (cannot sell cheaper than this due to increased price). We have also updated the listing on Ozbargain. We understand your concern and will action similar changes to other listing. It should address your concerns and also learning for us.

we have removed $1499 RRP from regular price, also updated regular price to $1099
OK, I'll remove the -ve vote then.

if its the regular price isn't really a deal.

sure, but it still cheaper in the market on same sku, also a free bag can be considered as a deal which is not offered by default.

if its the regular price isn't really a deal.
That's why we have votes…
Technically, if it is the best price, you can post it…
Before posting a bargain
Is this really the best price on the web? Check for the lowest prices.https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…
Personally, I was more concerned that the price saving that was advertised was very misleading…
If this is the price they are normally selling at, then it is not really much of a saving… I wouldn't upvote it, but some people here are happy to upvote anything that is the cheapest.

i did neg vote it because of this

So did I, but I removed the -ve after the Rep corrected the title…

Hi Countess, respect your decision but it is the best price today on this model. You can check the internet and I hope you may reconsider. I will either match the price or take down the listing if you get a better pricing on this similar model.

Hi mate

This ad still states
(25% OFF RRP $1,499) - SAVE $400! + $50 on free bag
But as above it was never sold by you for that price for any significant period of time and if we are gonna be totally honest let's also add in the $1049 price previously. You can't have your cake and eat it too

its still in the post

Updated.

yes by why not also be consistent and say you have also sold it cheaper. tell the whole story

Hi we did explain this in earlier comments.

We're a very tough crowd at Oz Bargain, especially for technology deals.
Upvote because rep has tried to meet all the demands on a Saturday.
Upvote because it's a bad deal but they read the thread, is what you're saying?
Still a bad deal

upvoted for Dell Pro - then read the comments - cheers guys, OzB knows its bargain !!

Price?
