Can these be taken on carry on luggage?

    • +1

Definitely not unfortunately. Typical rule is 99Wh with some exceptions for 1xxWh with prior permission from the airline.

      This is 307Wh

      • +3

You do require airline approval for 100-160Wh, but that is as simple as an email or verbal acknowledgement at check-in.

It's not really an "exception", it's more "these batteries hold enough energy that we want to inspect them". Those batteries are still held to the same standard as <100Wh batteries, i.e. no signs of damage, swelling, etc.

Over 160Wh isn't allowed with some exceptions, i.e. some medical, mobility, etc devices.

  • Can these be used to jumpstart a car?

  • Can these be charged with solar panels?

    $74.25 shipping for me(TAS) ☹️

But at least you can marry your cousins

    • Just swim across 👍

  • Ballpark, how long would his run a camp fridge like 45L basic one?

    • Bit of a wild stab, between 5-15 hrs depending on temp and how you store and use fridge.

    • +2

I got the 12ah one and it easily keep my 60l brassmonkey for 5+ hours. Saying that I make sure it is cold before. If completely empty and starting it with this it would use lots more for initial cooling.

    • It's not big enough to cool then keep the fridge cold for long periods but if you pre cool the fridge and don't spend all day opening it, it'll easily keep it cool for a day or 2.

Had mine running my 45L Waeco for about 11hrs overnight in about 15c weather and it only used 1/4.

Definitely enough if it's cooled at home and you're out for a day trip.

  • Besides running a fridge, what else do people use these for?

Charge earbuds just in care power goes out for 100million years

      Power my Starlink Mini.

      • Couple of months ago I tested out my Mini to see which power sources I can use on the go with it's USB C capabilities.

I tested a power station, various high power power banks and this 24Ah Kings. Can't remember whether this worked

or not as the specs state it needs minimum of 65W (but preferably closer to 100W).

Did this boot up your mini and worked ok ?

        • +1

You need a USB C PD for powering it via USB C and a short cable. Long cables have voltage drop.

I use an Anderson to SL Mini cable to power mine. I try and use Anderson for everything since I have it in the ute and on this battery pack.

          • @geekcohen: Haha, good thinking. So directly from the Andersons 12 V output on this power pack

(pretty sure that is rated at 25A output), to SL Mini. Would you have a link for that cable ?

    • 12v Electric Blanket for winter camping. One of these keeps it running for 2 nights on low setting, which makes the world of difference in negative outdoor temperatures.

  • +2

Good price but 36 is only one with pass through so you can use as you charge it…

    • +1

      Wondered if this was true.

Plugged my 12V electric blanket in while it was on the charger and didn't see it charging.

Re-plugged the charger and it's now pulling 40W while powering the blanket, so I guess having just a single USB-C input, it can't do that but put a car charger in one of the cig sockets and it'll happily do both.

But they will refuse your warranty if you tell em that lol

        • +1

Why would you tell them you did that if that was not the cause of fault ?

        • This is Kings. I've heard they try to deny warranty for using Solar Panels outdoors. Factor this in to their cheap prices when you buy from them.

Would these last, or is it risky, if this were to be left semi-permanently in a car over summer? Could the heat cause it to explode?

It's an Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, so should be safe right?

    • +1

Never had an issue with mine and its been in my ute canopy during Summer.

    • +1

I use mine to power my dash cam. Don't really leave it sitting in the sun all day but the max operating temperature of a LFP battery is around 70 degrees. Get close to 2 weeks of use with a 20 minute commute.

  • +1

Tempting as a backup for my 100Ah battery, last time storms and cloud cover made it tough to recharge it.

  • I'm seeing delivery bumped up a bit. $28 when it's usually $22.90 or something like that which had already received a bump. used to be $17.80.

but ATL with no eBay plus required. deal!
