At some point they are always going down to about $170-$180. Not sure how this is a deal?

    • Yep, my last pair was $170.

    • Haven't seen them that low in a while. Used to be able to get the previous years' model cheap on Catch (gone now) and Kogan.
I got the blue colourway for $219.99 in this deal as both my pairs of 30s are worn out now. $60 off regular is better than full price.

usually only seen at dfo for odd sizes/ unpopular colours - or just before the yearly refresh…

    • Can you link to some at this price, would like to buy now.

Was 223.99 from rebel last month and I’ll be surprised if we don’t see it again leading up to Black Friday. Great shoes. I recommend if you have overpronation . My podiatrist recommended them and basically shitcanned my 1080 v12 for like 30 min of the consult. I wore my 1080s again for an hour walk yesterday… and yeah he was right. The new balance 1080s are trash for support for overpronation.

I also noticed the blue pair is $219.99 - grabbed one. Thanks.

warning: once you wear asic kayano, you may not want to go to any other shoes thus you will end up spending more $.

I dunno about that. If you come from any running shoe that's on the lighter side, Kayano's feel like running in concrete buckets.

      • okay what are you comparing with?

        • +7

          Concrete buckets

        • I'm just a Joe Average runner who has been through plenty of pairs and has no allegiance to anything but at the moment it's Nike Vaporfly and on the trails, Asics Trabuco. Even the trail shoes in my eyes, run lighters. I always just thought the Kayano's were for people who have Jellyfish ankles and need help going down the stairs. Felt like a shoe you wear to a nursing home.

  • How do these compare to the nimbus 27 for running?

    • +5

      Depends on your feet.

If you pronate like most people, go for the Gel Kayanos or the GTs.

If you are neutral or supinate, go for the Nimbus/Cumulus.

If you have an Asics store nearby, give them a visit and ask them to ID your feet - it's free.

My previous pair of these was <$150 delivered via the Iconic, but maybe inflationary figures have crept in.

Nice joggers. I thought $224 or there abouts was what places like the Athletes Foot sold these for anyway.

    • The Gel Kayano 32’s released mid July seeing them drop to below $150 seems a bit unbelievable, were these a prior model?

Current cheapest I can see is JD sports for $260 and then most other major retailers are sitting around $280.

      • No just certain sizes/colourways. Also if you can't get a good deal, get the previous model as it's mostly the same. 31.

      • +2

Yes, mine were a prior model, but I rightly or wrongly consider that these will follow the same price path eventually.

    Not a good deal

If any Kayanos came into Vinnies, I think the staff would get them during the sort…..

Which raises the question, I wonder how many people seach the term 'Kayano' on the Vinnies site?

  • Wait a week and they will be $170 with Black Friday sales. Got them for sub $170 last Black Friday direct from asics.

Did get a cheaper pair of Kayano 31 a month ago from Kobery for $138 delivered. Was questioning the store as was not familiar with them, but they arrived and I am running in them (link below)

30 seconds of research on Kobery was enough. Clearly a counterfeit seller.

Do NOT buy shoes from this mob. People around the world are reeling.

      • How would one determine if these were counterfeit or not after taking receipt?

Sounds like a job for a sneaker professional (which I am sure does exist).

    • kobery - well known for robbery

  • Myself and a few friends bought a pair of the 31s and although very impressive comfort-wise, they are not built to last. Within the first two months, both of us had pieces of rubber grip coming off the soles. I warrantied mine and the new pair did the same thing.

I've never had such poor durability from any other shoe; both cheaper and more expensive options.

Went in store a month ago to look at the 32 and one of the same rubber grips wasn't even glued properly on the sole. Very poorly made and not worth $200+ but very comfortable shoes apart from that.

    • That is pretty sad.

The term, 'you get what you pay for does not apply here'.

    What a screaming bargain… Not!

  • 👍🏻

  • Such a shame….I bought these for $140AUD in Japan on my last trip…

  • Eh…what colour?!
